"BUYER BEWARE!!! Ordered frogg toggs rain suit on 6/30/2011 from the Gearless Machine. They debited check card that same day. It is now 7/21/2011 RAINSUIT HAS NOT ARRIVED. I had to email them to ask for an invoice and shippement details 10 days later on July 09. Invoice generated from what looks like Microsoft Word states shipped USPS Priority Mail. I am familiar with invoices since I sell and buy on ebay alot so I suspect this was fake shipping info. I left two voice mails over the last two days no response, emailed this morning. No response! Just got off phone with bank to dispute charge."

"Shipping policy says that orders may take up to 5 days to ship. This should read, orders will take a minimum of 5 days to ship -- which is much too long. Most Internet vendors ship the same day the order is received (or at latest the next day). This is obviously not a well run business. I couldn't get responses via phone from The Gearless Machine over the phone or email. So I called my credit card company and had them stop payment. Only then did I get an email from The Gearless Machine. I won't be ordering from them again."

"Here are my complaints:
1. Item apparently out of stock. Customer not notified of this even when customer emailed for update on order 2 weeks after initial order placed.
2. Falsely given USPS shipment number for an item the merchant did not even have in their possession.
3. Smart-aleck, rude, and unprofessional email communications full of typographical errors.
4. Continued to harrass me via email even after I specifically requested that email communication be halted.


I feel extremely fortunate to have received a refund of my money.

I am not surprised to see that The Gearless Machine "does not actively participate at ResellerRatings to monitor feedback and resolve your issues."

I simply post this to hopeefully keep some other unsuspecting consumer from falling into the same trap of frustration into which I fell when dealing with this merchant who apparently does not understand what customer service means.

"Horrible! I placed a order on Sunday never got any shipping info. On Wednesday I emailed, Thursday I called, Friday emailed again. Finally a e-mail responce Friday said they were backed up. They refunded my money but I was very dissapointed it took them so long to respond now I have to go out a shop for a present last minute."

"I ordered on 5.8.2011-- they took my money fast. but I emailed them asking how long to ship? they tell me theirs delays, but did not say how long. days weeks months? beats me no one said. took them 2 days to reply to an email.

if their are shipping delays this needs to be on the website BEFORE I order.

I asked for a refund asap today. i'll see how long that takes, if it even happens.


update 5.13.2011 I may be wrong. looks like they are legit. Jason refunded my money right away and will send the item anyway NO CHARGE.

they had power outages and fell behind on orders... certainly a legit problem out of their control... yes I had some issues/problems but they fixed them fast... it seems.

got the item today, 5.18.2011. they refunded my money for my troubles and sent me 2 dri duck suits FREE. they also tossed in a free chilly pad towel.

looks like they are the real deal, not out to mess anyone over. they had legitimate issues out of their control... I would probably give them another try...

in fact, some of my coworkers need rain gear and im going to tell them about this site.

"I placed an order April 9, 2011. Received emails confirming order soon after. On April 14, 2011 received email saying order had shipped. On April 21, 2011 I still had not received order. I contacted TGM and got an reply from them that they too did not understand what had happened to my order. The owner contacted me personally and informed me he was reshipping my order.He has even called me back afterwards to give me an update on my order. The tornadoes that swept through northern Alabama affected his business, but as soon as he got phone connections and power restored he called me to let me know the status of my order, he was very nice and concerned about my order. In the future I will do business with TGM anytime I need raingear."

"They advertise that they ship items within 3 days so I was not pleased it took 2 weeks. In the interim, they refused to answer my correspondence. When product arrived it was missing the free stuff sack they advertised. A very poor experience with this merchant"

"They are the worst internet merchant that I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Never shipped the order, and upon my complaint, promised to refund, which also did not take place. Used the credit card's payment dispute, which then took three months to be resolved, luckily in my favor.

Do not order from this business. As simple as that.

"i placed my order on july 6, 2010. they accepted payment. it is now july 15, i have emailed them twice, callled 3 times and left one message and got no reponse. so now they have my money but either won't ship my order, or have shipped it to the wrong address. since i have gotten no shipping confirmation email i would say it has not been shipped. what kind of joke of a business is that?"

"Horrible shipping and handling experience. Don't expect anything 'expedited', especially for the money paid. Ordered item with expedited shipping ($25) Friday morning at 8:00am CST. Sent email Saturday afternoon to inquire status. Received email on Sunday evening at 6:08pm stating that item has not shipped and 'did I want a refund'. Not what they could do to rectify the situation, but how they could terminate the transaction! That, my friends, is not customer service. Go elsewhere for confidence in shipping and handling for your money! "

"I had such a great experience after ordering my waterproof/breathable hat through these people that I ordered another for my mate and just received it today. It's an exceptional company with a great product. Payment was easy and delivery time very fast both times. Communication was great - they kept me informed every step of the way after placing my order. The hat is well constructed out of quality materials and a real bargain for $8.95 (including shipping). I would definitely order through them again."
