"I have had 2 bad experiences with The Company Store. If it says lifetime guarantee then they should know that when something is wrong with an order that the buyer should not have to pay for return shipping. I went to ship my comforter back today and it was going to cost me $40 to ship it!!! That is not even close to worth it. These days if you have a problem with an order and you spent a lot of money on the product- the shipping is taken care of. I think the Company Store has to re evaluate the way they do business because as of right now it seems like they are losing a lot of it! "

"Steer clear of The Company Store. About a year ago, I purchased a rug for my son's room. When it arrived, it filled the house with the smell of mildew. This year, my memory fading, I purchased Christmas pajamas for the whole family. The flannel smelled like a dead horse, so I washed them. Not only did the smell not come out, but the seams ripped on the first wash. EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY CONTROL. I won't make the same mistake a third time."

"I too have had a bad experience with The Company Store. 2 years ago I purchased two LaCrosse blankets for $180 and they have lost so many feathers that I have to dust and vacuum up feathers daily. Customer service did not care. I submitted a review but they never posted it. I called and they had no comment. I will not buy from them again EVER!!"

"Just had a horrible experience with The Company Store. As others have noted, they have gone downhill. They used to be good. Don't bother with them any more. I bought a fitted sheet less than a year ago and it is already disintegrating. It is used every other week, washed properly, used gently. It looks like it is twenty years old....fraying, splitting, complete garbage. "Customer Service" told me it was my fault for using bleach or cleaning too often...neither of which are true. Don't order from them."

"Despite the high price of the sheet set I ordered it anyway assuming it was worth it. when I received the sheets they were soft and pretty but very low in quality. the fitted sheet was $39
I have purchased sheet sets at Target for $30. you get the fitted, the flat and 2 pillow cases and the quality is far superior with a thread count of 350.
The Company Store sheets are somewhat thin. The stitching is one of the lowest quality I have ever seen. I am afraid to see what happens after a couple of washes.
I buy sheets quite often and will keep it to Target or TJ MAX.

"Recently bought 2 of Company Stores "firmest pillows". Did not find them to be firm and wrote a review. Since that one wasn't published within 2 weeks, wrote a second. Two weeks later wrote a letter asking about the decision not to post either of the 2 reviews. No response. Only positive reviews seem to be posted. What a sham, pun intended.

The Company Store should be ashamed.

"so so bad. i placed an order and after a couple of days i went to check the order in my online account and it said it had no record of the order. so i placed a second order and when i talked to customer service they didn't even tell me that the first order had already shipped, they let me think that the second order was all they saw. now i am being charged for 2 items when i only wanted one, and because i only use that account for online purchasing the second charge is going to cause a $35 draft charge from my bank. they literally first lied, and then told me that my second order could not be cancelled only a few hours after being placed (even though it takes them at least 3 days to ship an order.

i worked at an online retailer, i know you can definitely stop an order at many points before it ships, and definitely within the first 12 hours. terrible, terrible customer service. i loved my old comforter from them but the lack of customer service is not worth the hassle. plenty of people make nice products.

"This is the worst Company to order from. My sister ordered sheets and pillow cases. I received the sheets before my birthday, but with no pillow cases. My sister contacted them only for them to put the blame on a company that the do business with. Well my concern is if your operating a company and working with other companies, you should know long before allowing customers to place orders which deals with bad companies. I say the buck stops here with Hanover Direct/The company store. After many phone calls and emails from my sister and 3 months later I finally got the pillow cases. I will tell people never to order from this company, they take your money and don't deliver."

"Even though I knew that the shipping was a problem from prior orders, I went ahead and placed an order on 3/28/12. It did not ship until 4/2/12 and as of 4/11/12, I still have not received my order. After paying top dollar for shipping I would expect better service than this. I got a useless tracking number for a USPS partner. I have placed numerous orders with Cuddledown and Pottery Barn and always received them within a week (and this is in out of the way Idaho!) Beware buyers--TCS products are OK--meaning they are average or better than average, but the shipping is a huge pain."

"On 2/23/12, I ordered sets of bath towels which was prompted by an email from Domestications, introducing their "sister company."
The towels were not, by any means, custom! Both colors were on backorder and expected in the following week. Okay, it happens, so I ordered them. My order confirmation was immediately followed by an email advising of even a longer backorder time. Today is March 31 and I just now received an email that the last of my order is on the way. The shipping is horrible. My hand towels were shipped out on 3/19/12 from VA to FL. I just received them yesterday. Eleven days? I could have driven to VA and picked them up myself faster than their 'bluepackage.com' shipping method. If you are lucky, customer service will answer your email and if even luckier, they will actually answer the question you are asking. My advice, find another reputable store that has products in stock and can get them to you in a matter of days.

"Terrible service. Will not shop there again. I bought a duvet cover for my queen size comforter from them that does not fit any other normal duvet anywhere. I paid $17 to ship it. It ships... not trackable. I contact them and they say it's being shipped from a USPS 'shipping partner.' for $17 this is ridiculous especially since return shipping is $6.95 using a prepaid label. I tell them that - no response.

I tried to put a product review on their web site TWICE and it's not posted. I gave them two stars. Now they are down to 1 star. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

"The Company Store promised "pillow-top softness" and a down mattress cover made in the USA. Instead I got a flat inferior mattress cover Made in China. Even the plastic cover was Made in China. If you care about American made products, DO NOT SHOP at The Company Store. They are misrepresenting themselves as being made in La Crosse, Wisconsin."

"This review describes events in an order recently made by my mother. She is not the most tech-savvy, which should explain why I'm writing the account, as well as explain how we got into the mess that is now being resolved.

On her most recent credit card statement, Mom noticed a $12 charge from "Complete Solutions." Calling their number turned up that we had unwittingly joined their savings club by shopping at The Company Store. This torqued her off as she had to repeatedly bat away third party offers from the Company Store salesperson while making her last telephone order. She explicitly declined all offers, but that appeared to have been ignored.

A couple of months ago, she had attempted to make an order from The Company Store’s website. She had shopped mail order from them years ago, and went back for the quality of goods that she recalled. Unfortunately, the website proved too quarrelsome, so she elected to make telephone orders in the future.

Calling The Company Store about this apparent fraud left me in a queue waiting for a manager. After about fifteen minutes, I elected to leave a message. Angela called back a couple of hours later.

At first, Angela could not see how they could have possibly given Complete Savings our credit card information. It was apparently not (or no longer) on file with them, and there was no record of them ok'ing an associate deal. There was a record of the declined offers on her last order. Angela was not aware of *any* arrangements with Complete Savings. Still, there was the troublesome fact that Complete Savings had pointed the finger at The Company Store when I asked why we were being charged. To her credit, Angela called them, while I did the same on a separate line.

It turns out that what *probably* happened is that dear old Mom inadvertently signed up for the promotion when she had tangled with The Company Store's website a couple of months earlier. Even though the promotion was supposed to come *after* the sale, and there was no corresponding sale, Complete Savings got their information. After thirty days, they began charging $12 each month--the second of which, coincidentally lined up with a phone order with The Company Store. Our “membership” has been canceled, and those charges are being refunded.

So, here we are. Some would say that The Company Store only marginally played a role in this transaction. They are still culpable for doing business with an institutionalized scam like Complete Savings, and exposing their customers to those hustlers.

"The Company Store used to be a great company: good and quick service, quality products. But with my recent order, I'm finding it's gone way downhill. Ordered a bolster 1/21/09. Still haven't received it 2/11/09. Their tracking system says it was shipped right away and should have been delivered 2/4/09. Phone calls and emails get me nowhere. Except calling the USPS myself. They had more info than the store, but still couldn't locate the item. The store tells me they can't declare it lost until 2/18 (20 business days after shipping), so i'm on my own until then. Have to assume a long search will ensue at that point. So, more wasted time. Bad data and poor service. Did someone buy out The Company Store? Why has it gotten so bad?"

"DO NOT COUNT ON THE COMPANY STORE! I ordered bedding for a college student, got an email saying one item was backordered, so I called The Company Store's 800-number to cancel the order if the item would not be available/delivered by the start of school. I was told that the item would be available Aug. 22, and would be received by Sept. 6, so I did not cancel the order. I just called there again (several weeks later) to check on the status of the order (since I had not received a shipping notice) and was told the item was not available and they didn't know when it would be available.

Now I have shipping fees for bedding that does not match whatever comforter we can find at this late date, and we will have to haul whatever we can find across the country, since we won't be able to get something else ordered and delivered there by the start of school. I am very, very disappointed and disgusted by this business's "service" (or more accurately, it's lack of service).
