"I won two auctions on ebay with this company, both for 21" gateway moniters. Well, the first auction went smoothly, payment through paypal using their checkout email, and in a few days I had my moniter.
Prior to the first moniter arrived, I placed a bid on a second one, and won that also. Again, I went through their checkout process and paid through Paypal. This time however, no moniter ever came, or an email with any updates.
By the end of the first week, I emailed them to no avail. Not one response for another week, finally got an automated email.
Then I sent a money request for the amount I sent them through paypal, and got a response from an actual person saying I sent the money to the wrong email address.
This is their fault, as I used their link to checkout. I left negative feedback stating:
Complaint : I won 2 auctions, paid for both items , they shipped only one, now won't reply
Response by techsmartauctions - The cust sent payment to the wrong e-mail address. To late to process REFUNDED
They also left neg feed on my ebay account, which bothers me, but what can I do about that right? Anyway, do not buy from techsmart, THEY WILL SHAFT YOU!!!!
Oh yea, I have yet to see my refund, although I'm sure it will come, or they will have some legal issues to resolve."
"Horrable Company!
Through Ebay, I won an Epson printer. They took my credit card and and sent the printer in a timely fashion, but the printer did not work. Their policy on ebay was a 30-day part/labor warranty. When I called them, they only offered to cover $30 dollars in repairs, in the form of a rebate(refund). I later talked them in $48 and took it to an Epson certified repair shop to be fixed. After replacing potential problem part after part, they discovered that the main system board had a fatal error and would cost more to fix then to buy a brand new one. From purchase date to the discovery of this lemon condition more then 30 days had passed, though it was reported with them just days after purchase. When I asked to get my money back, all hell broke loose. They, by all means, lied and changed their fix/return policies to be most profitable to them. They stated that on a warranty repair like this they issue an RMA # and have the item sent back and fixed by their people. Otherwise, it could be broken more by another vendor. That was not what I was told when I called them the first 2 times (and they discussed this with their manager, too). Now that it was passed their 30 limit, they told me it was my problem, and my loss. They were very rude and agressive, making statements like, "We're done with this issue, and we not going to talk to you again."
I was forced to go through my credit card company to get my money back. I had the evidence and documentation(like this web site) to arm Visa with "more then enough" information to make a defenseless attack on Techsmart's bank and retreive my money. They never did protest this with Visa.
The whole process took months. Techsmart is the worst, most unethical, selfish and rude company to deal with. "Customer Service" and "Customer Satisfaction" are two terms this company choose to throw away when they tossed out their honisty, ethics, and courtesy.
Recommendation: Don't do any business with Techsmart."
"Checked with Compaq on 5/22/02. Techsmart is not an authorized reseller of compaq equipment. The Loyalty and Reseller Org, found it disturbing that the Compaq logo was being used on their web site;
COMPAQ they are giving you a bad name:
My Complaint stated: outdated drives, long service waite, monitor/sound issues, u get what u pay for.
TechSmart Reponse: Drivers were loaded in when unit left. Not responsible if customer removes them.
Hello, you will find the above complaint with the response by the supplier. I must advise you that they have provided feedback response that is completely false. At no time did I or anyone else here remove the drivers. They are completely false. For that matter, after waiting an hour, I finally reached a techinician who advised me to go to three different sites to find drivers that I might need to work with the monitor. The sound card was defective in the onboard motherboard and they sent out a replacement and on and on it goes. There are still problems, and I have invested in the vincinity of around 26 hours trying to get the system working for my 11 year old.
Rinky dink and false responses by suppliers (notice the ratio of negatives on this site) ought not to be tolerated by EBay.

"I won an auction on their site, they sent me an e-mail on the 15th of the month and told me that there was a problem with my credit card and and "the money was being refunded", funny they got the money on the 13th, AND THE PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVAILIBLE!, well after several phone calls and being shoved from here to there, I finally got my money back, but the experience was not worth it, if you do not like games, do not purchase from this seller. If you are a "Risk taker" go ahead, maybe it will work out for you."
"I wouldn't buy anything from this outfit. Before anyone with a lick of sense buys anything on-line, they should try calling the tech support line FIRST. If you never get to speak to a human or sit on hold for 10 minutes or more, go somewhere else to buy.
The computer they sold me had cookie crumbs all over the keyboard. They sent me an Email saying this was residue from their cleaning solution - YEA, RIGHT! So explain the half-eaten chunck of chocholate chip stuck to the F key.
I sent them their alleged FOUR STAR computer back to them. They signed for it on March 27 but did not refund my money for two weeks.
By the way, when they give a computer their Four Star rating (the highest), to most folks, this should mean a One Star computer on a Ten Star scale.
MAJOR AVOID!"
