"I looked at the last month of december 2012 complaints and mine is the same. I ordered online before christmas and got a 50% off deal. Paid $200+ for tea and got a confirmation email but not shipping track #. Wrote an email but got there auto generated reply. I have been trying to call and get an agent on the phone but no luck. THe request a call back is a joke. I will take it up with my Merchant Bank and get the charges reversed. Screw this company and their scam. TEAVANA SUCKS..."

"They charged me more money than the totals before I clicked "place the order" and after the order confirmation. CHEATING!! 5 days after ordering, still haven't received any shipping confirmation. Customer service has a long wait each time I called. Never call back with the (press 1) "call back". I don't think I will order from them again!!"

"FIRST OFF I AM USING CAPS BECAUSE OF HOW ANGRY I AM WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY CHARGED ME FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT ORDER, WHICH WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AMOUNT THAN THE PRODUCT I DID ORDER. ON TOP OF THAT THEY DID NOT SEND ME A CONFORMATION EMAIL AND I HAD TO WAIT ALMOST 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE BECAUSE THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK ON THE CALL BACK I REQUESTED. ALL THEY DID WAS BLAME MY BANK AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HAD NO IDEA HOW TO HELP ME AND MADE ACTED LIKE A JERK. THIS WAS COMPLETE BULL. THEY TOOK MONEY FROM ME THAT I NEED TO BUY CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MY FAMILY AND NOW I AM UPSET AND OUTRAGED AT THIS RIDICULOUS SERVICE. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN."

"Ordered $59.85 worth of tea through Amazon.com's merchant program (Teavana was the seller). After a week, I had no proof of shipment, so I attempted to contact Teavana via the information listed on their website. I was on hold for over an hour each time I called. I tried dialing "1" to request a call back-guess what, they never called back. I emailed them twice with no response. I finally had to get Amazon involved, and that is the stage I'm at now. Completely disgusted with this company. Their customer service is horrid! "

"Beware. I ordered tea and a teapot from this company. They have never sent the teapot but charged me for it. I was promised shipment in one week. Then after that week they promised it in 30 days. I still haven't received it and they won't answer my emails. "

"Have been ordering from them for a long time, no problems until now. Placed an order for 7 items. Used a coupon that saved me $20. The order confirmation page showed everything as expected. But they never sent a confirmation email. Instead, a few days later they sent a shipment email, showing they they shipped 6 (instead of 7) items, and charged me $10 more than my original total. I sent them an email asking them for an explanation. It's now been 5 or 6 days without an answer to that email. Instead they sent another shipment email, showing that they shipped the last, 7th item, and charged another $10 for it.

So basically, they didn't apply my coupon (even though on their site, my order history shows the coupon was applied and the total should be $20 lower), they never told me they would ship the items separately, they charged me $20 more than what I agreed to pay for the order without confirming anything with me, they didn't send any confirmation emails (I checked the spam, the bulk, and all other folders. nothing. But their shipment emails get to me just fine,) and they don't answer customer support emails.

Their teas are good, but they aren't cheap, and with this kind of customer service I'll be looking for a different tea store.

"My experience here was really positive. The teas are a little expensive, but the quality is AMAZING. I didn't deal with returns, so I'm not sure about what the other reviewers are complaining about there. But overall just ordering from their site and getting the tea quickly was easy. I would definitely order from again. The Acai Mateini is delicious. Shipping could be cheaper for smaller orders though. "

"One of the single worst return experiences.
I ordered a tea pitcher online, when it arrived I realized that it was much smaller than I expected. I took the pitcher back to my nearby Teavana. After a hard sell for a different pitcher which again was too small, I waited for someone who was actually authorized to do a return to help me only to be told that they can only issue an in store credit if you bought it online. Those terms are NOT listed on the receipt. I've never had this issue with another online purchase. A complete waste of 40 minutes. (Store service was really slooooooooow) Now I'm headed to the Post Office.

"Hello,

I recently had an inquiry about an online order I placed about a month ago. When I contacted the customer service department I was greeted by Trina. Trina, in a failed attempt at customer service, became agitated by my questions and preceded to raise her voice, yell and at one point even scream at me. I feel attacked, abused and disrespected. Trina seemed to be upset about something deeper than just our interaction she became volitile. At this point I thought it was best that i talk to a supervisor in fear that the next associate would be the same. I begged her actually to speak to a manager or supervisor because her tone was so unprofessional. Trina at no time before this addressed my credit. The credit was not addressed until Ken ( the manager) became involved. Needless to say I am disgusted and appalled by the level of customer service that i recieved. I spend a lot of money on your products and deserve better. Do not buy tea from this company!! You will have multiple orders you haven't place, missing items from shipments, and not to mention no notice for canceled orders and looooong shipping times of a month or more at times. I love the tea but you can find it else wear. Just save your self the disappointment.

"All I can say is DON'T DO IT! This place has the worst customer service I have EVER encountered in my life!! I spent a fortune on various teas from here and made the mistake of buying 2 tea sets online that were totally junk. The color did not look anything like the picture and the handle wasn't attached. Apparently you're suppose to bend the bamboo handles to attach but they are not secure enough to hold HOT TEA! Anyways, I was told that I could not return them because they were sales items ($29.95 each). Very very unsatisfactory."

"Pushy salespeople who are like an old band-aid that is hard to remove. I went into the Mall-of-America Teavana store three times and all three times I could not get rid of the salesperson despite my repeated response, “I’m just looking”. It didn’t matter to the salesperson what I needed or wanted it was all about what they wanted to sell me. They stood to close to me, in my space. In fact they even stood in my way as I tried to look at the products on the shelves and they continually chatted and pushed products I wasn’t interested in. All three clerks had the same script of reasons I should buy this or that. And, I did not need any lectures on tea. I really get annoyed when they tell me what I need when they don’t know what I need or want. I was looking for a tea strainer and looked at what they had on the shelf. I had viewed the internet site prior to my visit to the store and had decided on the Classic Comfort Touch Tea Strainer. The clerk told me it was the one she owned and she had tried the others and this definitely was the best. There were none on the shelves so I asked the clerk if they had any available, so she opened the door below the shelves and found an obviously used one that was not in a box. She said she could shine it up and find a box for it. I told her I didn’t want a used strainer. She then immediately started pushing me to another one which she now claimed was the best one. I left the store and went to another Teavana store in the area and purchased the product, new and in the box but as with the Mall-of-America store, the clerk rushed into my personal space and wouldn’t stop pushing product. My spouse was with me this time and he even noticed how pushy and obnoxious the salespeople are. I won’t go back there again – from what I've been told they have a point system where they get rewards for their total sales."

"It's too bad to see so many negative reviews for Teavana.com. Certainly their tea is expensive, but the quality of the varieties we've tried has been exceptional (love the Chai/Chai blend, Jasmine Tropica).

We have a brick-and-mortar version in our nearby mall but can save a lot of money ordering online. Using the "5OFF30" or "10OFF50" coupon codes always seems to work and essentially gives a 20% discount over the in-store prices. I usually stock up and buy enough to use the 10OFF50 code and still clear the free shipping mark of $50. Plus, if you use FatWallet, you can receive an additional 6% back on your purchase.

In terms of fulfillment, they tend to ship quickly, although they ship from NJ and I'm in CA so it takes a full week to arrive by UPS Ground. The one knock against them is that they do not send an email confirmaton of your purchase. I do receive a shipping notification, but the email comes from UPS and doesn't indicate the package is from Teavana. That said, you can go to their web site and check the order status and get the shipping info as well.

I've only had one order foul-up with them in the several I've placed -- they once sent 2 packets of the wrong tea. I contacted Customer Support via their web site and received an email the next day apologizing and indicating they would send out the correct tea immediately. Happily, they didn't request that I send the incorrect tea back to them (I'm sure it wouldn't be worth it for them).

So, we'll continue using the in-store Teavana for tasting but the web site for purchasing. Seems like the best of both worlds.
