"They do something I haven't seen before but which should be done by every jewelry outfit out there: they upload photos and video for virtually every item so you can see exactly what you'll get BEFORE the package arrives. This is especially wonderful for a gem like tanzanite, because tone and saturation vary tremendously from cheaper, more common stones (watery and very transparent) to more expensive, very rare stones (deep bluish purple/purplish blue). Pretty much every online merchant claims to have AAA or made up, impressive-sounding meaningless grades like "AAAA" or "heirloom" which end up being rather muted and transparent when you open the box (I learned this the hard way). The videos really take the guess work and hassle out of the process and ensure that your purchase lives up to the description and your expectations.
I placed my order yesterday with standard free shipping and was (very) pleasantly surprised to receive an email shipping notification indicating my package was sent express. Not sure if it's because they know how important a timely gift is on something like mother's day, but it was an unexpected and very nice gesture. My husband bought me my first piece of Tanzanite jewelry, while on our Honeymoon, almost 13 yrs ago. Recently, I went online to research websites that sell Tanzanite earrings. I spent a lot of time looking at 1.00 carrat "stud" earrings, that were of high quality and have that signature "Blue Violet" Vivid color, that Tanzanite is known for. FINALLY, I found "Moriarty's Gem Art" online. I wanted more information about the size and color of earrings that I was intereted in. So, I called the phone number listed online, and was very happy to speak to a REAL person, about my questions. I placed my order for a pair of Tanzanite (set in 14 kt white gold) stud earrings. Which, I'd like to add, were VERY reasonably priced. A few days later, I received my earrings. When I opened the package, there was an additional note, explaining that the "Original" earrings I had ordered, were "Out-of-Stock", However, Please accept these "Slightly Larger" Tanzanite earrings (over a total KT weight of 1.00 carrats)at NO additional cost. Let me just say, "THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!" The Customer Service is BEYOND Exceptional. I will recommend them to everyone I know.
