birthday gift for my daughter never showed up!

"I bought a pink Haro mountain bike online at sun and ski and my wife and I thought we ordered in enough time to get it by my daughters birthday. When the birthday came a week later no bike no tracking number nothing. We called the next morning and the bike wasn't even shipped a whole week later. So they put a rush on the shipping and we had a tracking number by the end of the day. Except for one small detail the brand new bike had dirty white grips, I asked for new ones and they refused. At this point I missed my daughters birthday party and I had no choice but to have them fix their screw up and send the bike as is. Four days later the present showed up and it was a pair of men's size ten roller blades! My 14 year old daughter wasn't impressed, my wife was furious. I called customer service and no answer so I looked up the number on the roller blade shipping box and called it. I was told it was terrible that I missed my daughters birthday and they would make it right in the next month. They didn't know where my daughters bike was and they would have to find it and have it shipped all around the country before I got it. Plus they needed the skates first before they would send the bike! I was given great lip service by their people but fact of the matter is I don't have what I paid for nor will I have it for the next month. I wish I read more reviews of this company before I shopped here. If I did more research I would never use this store. They told me today the manager wasn't in so they couldn't refund my money until Monday, just another run around by a terrible company. Still waiting on reimbursement."

"I am very happy with Sun & Ski. My order was shipped promptly and customer service is excellent. They were helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I will recommend them and I will definitely use them again. I read the negative reviews here and still placed my order with Sun & SKI. I realized that the negative complaints were about S&S protecting their customer from fraudulent charge attempts. I have had my credit card # stolen and wish more companies with institute policies such as address verification. There would have been a lot less to clean up after the CC theft.

"I ordered a Heart Rate monitor, watch-like device, and they, SUN&SKI, sent pants. There are reasonable mistakes, but how anyone could be hired that can do no better says all I need to know about the company. They hire people who cannot, apparently, tell the difference between a pair of pants and a watch. In other words, caveat emptor when online shopping with SUN&SKI."

"Their customer service is just TERRIBLE. Incredibly terrible. As someone has already mentioned below, my order was canceled because my billing address was different from shipping address. They didn't have any special instruction about having 2 different addresses.

First time, I got on LiveChat and was told to call in so that they could edit my order and verify address. In the midst of very busy day, I eventually managed to call them 15 min before they end for the day. I called and was told that either I had to call the credit card company to register a different shipping address on my card AND call Sun&Ski again so that they can call the credit card company to verify. OR I had to cancel the order and rebuy it through PayPal. OR ship it to the billing address.

The lady I spoke with was not apologetic, not understanding, and even rude. I told her to cancel the order so that I can buy through PayPal because that was the most "convenient" option that I was given with. When I complained about how inconvenient this whole process was because they didn't write any instruction on their website, what she told me was: "Well, you wanted to cancel your order, so I canceled it for you. So whether you rebuy it or not is up to you."

I swore to myself that I will never buy any item from this website, but unfortunately, the item I wanted to buy was found no elsewhere. When I tried to pay it with PayPal, I had to call the credit card company anyways because of the same issue. So I ended up spending an hour on the phone just today, and probably another hour yesterday. AND the person I talked online was the person I talked on the phone. So basically, there was no point of calling from the first place. I don't understand why she told me that I had to call in to edit my order, if she couldn't do it anyways.

Their customer service person was just unbelievably rude. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM.

"I ordered a pair of Sorel boots -- the women's Joan of Arctic boots that are out of stock locally and at every other store which I checked online-- but that Sun % Ski carried. I ordered them on a Sunday, and they shipped the next day, and they arrived 4 days after I ordered them. As far as I know, there hasn't been a problem with the billing, so I have no complaints about my experience and am very happy with how quickly I received the boots. I was also very happy that I paid $20 less for the boots than I'd seen them advertised elsewhere, as they had a promotion for $20 off a $100 or more. "

"Tried to order some skis and bindings from this website. My order was cancelled because billing and shipping addresses are different (I am in college). Called and they were very nice and told me to pay with paypal and this would eliminate the issue. Went through the hassle to create a paypal account. My order was cancelled a second time for the same reason. Now paypal has a large amount of my money tied up for 3-5 days before it is refunded. Called again and they said to call paypal or my credit card to have the address verified, but even if I make the call I do not have enough money in my bank account to make the purchase (thanks to paypal and their bad advice).

I am extremely disappointed with this company and will not be placing my order again or ordering from them in the future. I can't imagine I am the first person to have a different shipping and billing address (all college students and gifts?). You would think a company with about 20 locations and a fairly large online store would have figured this out by now.

"They cancelled my order four times due to different vague reasons. I missed important for me shipping time. The reasons were unclear, something related to my credit cards and paypal. I checked with both paypal and my credit card company and they said that the transaction was fine, and actually the money was transfered to the seller but he decided to cancel it and refund me back.
I guess they didn't have the product in stock, and didn't admit that.

"Ordered a pair of brooks based on the photograph shown. Then received the wrong shoes. Spoke with Jon to clear up the issue, he was very knowledgeable about running shoes and gave me a ten dollar discount on the shoes I thought I was purchasing in the first place. Still had to pay 30 dollars more...so not real thrilled about that. The real issue I had was with shipping, since it was their mistake they offered to pay for shipping the incorrect shoes ack by emailing me a shipping label. Never came. Contacted them the next day. Promised the world but my inbox/junk folder sat empty. Tried a different email with them. nothing. I'm paying to send the shoes back myself and probably wont do business with them again. Some smart people might work here, but they handle business like they're untrained college interns doing someone else's job..."

"I purchased a Fuji SL1 bicycle from sunandski.com. I found the same bike priced $100 cheaper elsewhere and they pricematched the other vendor w/in a day of contacting them. I just received the bike today and everything looks great. Very pleased with the service."
