"Made an order for a stereo receiver 5/6/08. It was promptly posted to my credit card, but now 5/23/08, I still have not received an email confirmation, nor invoice, nor any other contact.

In the mean time, their web site is now GONE! Their contact phone number is DISCONNECTED! I have filed a dispute with my credit card company, which unfortunately will take 30 days to resolve.

THESE GUYS ARE PURE RIPOFF ARTISTS_ STAY AWAY !!! I wish I had read the (poor) reviews in here before I made my order. Now I'm out $500 for a product I'll never see.

"I may have been the last person ripped off by this company. 3 or 4 days after I bought two cellphone headsets their website no longer existed, emails came back undeliverable and phone disconnected. I did get through on the phone once to leave a message though. My credit card company says the phone number was ***-***-**** and was registered to a Christie Owens in Mountlake Terrace, WA. I've filed a police report and a claim with my CC company but it would be nice if anyone else could provide some more info."

"Got an order confirmation and no further contact from the company. They took the money and...fled to Mexico? ...gambled it away? Who knows, since they won't even respond!

They don't respond to phone messages or emails. (no one answers the phone, it is just a voicemail box. Guess they're afraid to face the people they ripped off.)

Stay away from this seller! They will rip you off.

" I have read several other reviews about ShopStormComputer in Washington and they sound just my problem.Ordered early mon. and get a nice confirmation email right away. My visa was charged that day no delay there. But after Five emails and two voice messages back to them all I have is that nice confirmation email. The order was still pending according to (my account) on their website. Gave them till noon the 5th day to contact me if not cancel the order. Sent email to cancel order then called visa to dispute and reclaim funds. This is the first I have had a problem on line. Guess it would be a good idea to check these posting before using a unknow co. "

"WARNING!!!
First, you should be aware that there are TWO Storm Computers, one in Washington (the one to stay away from), and one in Texas.
The one in Washington is a rip-off outfit that takes your money, sends you an email that looks legitimate, then disappears. When I tried to email them they never replied. When I tried to logon to their "Customer Service" (HA!) I got a password challenge. When I used the "Password Forgotten" link, they sent a password that does not work. Their phone number does not answer, or gives you a recoded "leave your number and we will call you" message (of course they never did).
I had to call my Visa card and cancel the sale. It appears that they live off of people who don't keep track of what they buy, or are too confused to know that they are being cheated.
STAY AWAY FROM STORM COMPUTER IN WASHINGTON!!
The one in Texas can be reached at ***-***-****. They told me they get 2 or 3 calls a week from people who have been ripped off by these people.

"The order process was smooth, and the item was priced well. The only concerns I had were the lack of shipping options (as the only one was 15.00) and the length of time the item took to get to me. When it arrived though, it was in good shape, packed well, and looks and works as described on Storm Computers website. Overall, B+ online store experience."

"I don't know if this applies to all their items, but for my HP Officejet Pro L7780 printer, customer service is nonexistant. Literally. All conversations MUST go through HP, and that is a real time-waster. The L7780 is advertised as being FULLY compatible with Mac OS X, but several features, including double sided printing are buggy in OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) and I was told by HP that (in direct conflict with the ads) they do NOT support Tiger (10.4). In 10.5 most things work, although there is a bug in the driver software that will NOT allow me to choose tray 2. HP has been very unhelpful about this as well. Storm Computing says there is nothing they can do, it's not their problem, and will not allow me to return the item. Although Storm computing did in fact have the cheapest price for this printer on the web, you do, in fact, get what you pay for. I would not buy from them again (without a warranty issued by them)."

"Terrible experience. Service is very slowww. Order stayed in the pending state for over a week. Vendor does not respond to status emails in a timely manner or phone calls on orders you have placed with them. Always some excuse like "Our system was down last week due to problems with our merchant provider and our computer system. We are backed up trying to catch up. Your order is in our system and will be processed as soon as possible."

Update: 11 days later and repeated attempts to get them to cancel the order resulted in a few blanket emails with them saying the same as above - "sorry, we're backed up and will ship when we get time." They just wouldn't read my email and cancel my order.

So I wrote them this after doing a little research.

"Dear Sir/Madam,
I requested you CANCEL this order because you have been unable to process and ship my order for 11 days. Instead you sent me that same blanket email as before.
I am requested that you only CANCEL THIS ORDER IMMEDIATELY!!!
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB has requested that I attempt to resolve the complaint directly with STORM COMPUTER first.
If you will not CANCEL THIS ORDER immediately I will file the complaint and let the BBB process and resolve it. So prepare for BBB mediation for resolution in this matter unless you take the appropriate action I requested. If you ship the order when your problems get worked out, I will reject to receive the shipment from the shipper and we will handle this legally."

I was sent a response email within 1.5 hours (fastest response ever, usually takes 1-2 days) that stated.

"Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
We greatly apologize for the delay. We have issued a refund to your credit card.
Transaction 1711xxxxx has been successfully ACCEPTED by the system.

Below is a summary:
