"I knew it was a scam from the get-go. Why, you may ask. Because it's an electronics store based in NYC. I bit, ordered a camcorder, and to no one's surprise received an email to "confirm" my order.
Confirmation consisted of the salesman trying to convince me that the items which are included with the camcorder from the factory...aren't.
What scumbags these people are, beware, they operate under a bunch of different names.
Bait and switch, bait and switch! Stay away!

"Ordered a canon 17-85mm lens. They tried to sell me up which I expected. The price of the lens was less than $200. 3 days letter I receive an e-mail that it is on backlog an dthey encourage me to cancel the order which I did. I went on line the same day (4/21/09) and saw the same lens showing availble with the price up $100. Bait and switch is what this company does. People on the phone are rude and hold time is unacceptable. "

"Same situation as with other reviews. Placed an order online last night. Checked order status this am and saw that my order needed to be verified. Called company and was on hold for about 15min. When a customer service person picked up I was actually surprised!! At first he was very nice and verified my order....THEN... he told me that the lens that I ordered would not work with my camera and I would have to purchase a converter kit...wow. when I said that I just wanted my lens he continued to tell me that I needed to buy a converter kit and that I was wrong, that my research was not correct,etc... Then he seemed to be trying to actually sell me a different lens (of course more expensive). Then he caved and said that the lens would work but it wouldnt work correctly. He kept saying , "Well , if you think you know more then I do"...."Go ahead and buy it as is but it isn't going to work correctly".....It was scary as I know this lens is meant to work with my nikon d-90.. Told him to cancel my order asap!!!Thanks for the reviews, would not have known to cancel my order if I hadn't read these reviews and others like them. "

All of the companies above have the same boiler room tactics: 1) You place your order for an "In Stock" camera or other electronic item, (sometimes over a hundred dollars below the average prices at the known B+M dealers), 2) You get a call or email stating you need to "confirm" or "verify" the order with a salesperson, 3) You get lied to that the battery doesn't come with it, or you need some other part to make it work correctly which they just happen to have for you (at a price that is 3 to 6 times EVERYONE elses), 4) You smartly decline to order that part and they "cancel" your order, either with you on the phone or quietly after you have hung up thinking that 3 or 4 weeks is ok to wait since your saving $100.

You will never see that item, only the lost time. They never had any intention of selling to you at that price. It took me a while to realize that fact. I placed the orders to the places above, and after the third one was cancelled I started to do the research on these companies. I find it very interesting that the format of ALL the Invoice Order Numbers were Identical!?! (same company under many different names and locations??)

I honestly don't know how NY continues to let these people operate, their BBB ratings are all so bad that it gives the state a bad name. They don't even try to hide what they are doing. Spend your hard earned money in a state that cares and doesn't let companies like this continue to rip consumers off.

"I don't know who the reviewers were that said they got good treatment and received their purchases. They probably work for these losers. Same scam as all the other lowprice dealers. Don't get fooled. Also the invoice number with all of these dealers are similar. go figure."

"Canon G10 ordered, and I doubt that the item was ever in stock at all. I have sent several emails about the backorder that keeps getting delayed further, including one ponting out that the backordered item is still showing as available on the site at $19 more than what I ordered it for. Not to worry, as the good news is that it's now on sale and in stock at $29 less on the website, even though my order has not been shipped in 7 weeks now...

I will be sure to update this if the actual product ever arrives.

"Called before placing an order, rep (or whoever pretends one) confirmed that item is in stock, but refused to accept order over the phone. So I placed it online and, of course, provided my personal (including credit card) info. On the following day order was marked as "Backordered" and then "Cancelled". Called back a few times and as soon as I provide my order number I was put on indefinite hold. They are just fishing for your credit card info. STAY AWAY!!!

"tried to order Canon SX 10.. waited n waited, got an email confirming order was being processed. I didnt and wouldnt order any accessories with the camera. guess what.. order was canceled do to lack of availability a week later....

what a shock.....
dont bother,, they wont honor their low price unless you tack on a ton of WAY overpriced accessories, batteries, filters, you name it.

"I am sucker, but this place is a SCAM. They advertised a Canon 50D body for $379. I purchased, and then the order within a few hours showed canceled. I emailed customer support to get an answer why - no answer. Called the number on the site, got a guy - no greeting no nothing just a "yep" - when I asked about the order he said it was out of stock and canceled. When I made the order it showed in stock AND it is still on their website but now at a higher price. Now they have all my personal info. If it is too good to be true, it is with these scammers."

"This is a complete bait and switch outfit. Despite being advertised as an American warranty (it is a "store" warranty only), when the customer is asked to call to confirm the attempt to up the purchase begins - high priced accessories and then the fact that the camera ordered is an "international" model with the manuals etc in a foreign language. Do not deal with them. I will be watching extremely closely for any charges on my credit card for quite some time. "

"After getting promises of shipment, and then a series of excuses the adaptor needed to use lenses ordered with my Lumix LX-3 arrived. I had waited over 3 weeks. It works just fine and I look forward to learning and using the capabilities of this great camera. The charger which was sold as an "international" unit with adaptors for several countries did not arrive as promised. I have been waiting and when the dealer emailed to ask me to change my review, I was told I had to send the wrong charger back to them before they would send me the right one. After getting promises that is was on the way before, I will cut my losses and stop dealing with this company. Although they did at last send the lens adaptor I paid for, I would not recommend them to buyers and will not be shopping there again. I hope this saves others some grief.




The initial price for the camera I bought was great, but they insisted I call before it would be sent. I succumbed to high pressure sales and ordered lenses and a variety of accessories. All items did not arrive together, in fact, the needed to adaptor to use the lenses and filters has still not arrived (2 1/2 weeks later) despite several emails and phone calls. I have almost exhausted the "21-day satisfaction guarantee" (verbal, contrary to written 7-day one in ad) and have not been able to try out accessories or camera as a result. The company promised the adaptor was sent a week ago via USPS, but would not tell me how to track it. I have given up on this outfit and will never buy from them again nor will I recommend them unless they make it all right. I am not confident they want to or will. Don't be drawn in by the prices. The service has been lousy and does not instill trust.

"In one sentence - StopNShopDigital should be avoided. I couldn't be more displeased with how I was treated as a customer. I sent an email to customer support based on the email address on their help page - the email bounced. In fact, all of the emails listed on their support page returned to me as the sender rejected the emails!

I then called leaving a message, in which I never heard back. I finally called to talk to someone, and when I was complaining about the service, they actually hung up on me during the conversation.

The prices are great on their site - however, if you have any issues, you are in trouble as you certainly won't get any help from the support team. Also, my order was put on hold (which is why I was trying to call them), so they could try and sell me other accessories.

Anyways, hopefully I can save someone else the frustration I had in dealing with this company. Shop elsewhere, the bargin prices aren't worth the hassle, esp. if you need support.
