"This company is a scam. I ordered a camera and, because I wouldn't order any accessories from them (I just wanted the camera) they canelled my order. I even called back and the guy on the phone told me that was exactly why they cancelled the order."

"AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!! This company is not legitimate!!! I ordered a sony cybershot DSC-V3 from WaWadigital / Stargate photo. I called to confirm the order and the sales rep tried to pressure me into items i didnt need. he then told me that the camera is actually refurbished IS n all Japanese writing. he said it would cost an extra $200 (on top of the $391 I already agreed to) to get the camera I wanted. I then told him to cancel the order and he went crazy. he told me he "would make my life a living hell" for cancelling the order. he started cussing and yelling at me and i decided to hang up. i then received a cancellation confirmation via e-mail. i tried to investigate the company and they offer no address, no names or any other helpful info except 2 phone #'s that go to the same place. i called their "customer service" # and tried to get info about the company. the guy answered and refused to give a company name. i told him i just placedand order, so he said "ok, it's Stargate Photo". he said they arent not affiliated with wawadigital (but i purchased the camera from the wawa website). when i told him a cancelled the order and just wanted company info, he hung up on me. i then called back & chose the sales dept option. it was the same guy, he just lowered his voice to sound different. he said they have no supervisors or managers. i tried to explain the situation and he stared calling me names!!!!! I have filed complaints with NY attorney general, BBB and Webmaster. HELP SHUT THESE CROOKS DOWN!!!! Oh yeah, ALSO CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD & GET A NEW ONE!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR IDENTITY!!!!!!!"

"This place is a joke.....as I now read alllll the other negative comments about this place, I can only say "ditto"! They did to me what they did to everyone else.....after refusing the "extras", they told me the camera was on back order and would be 3-4 weeks. I think they also see under the name of "One Click Digital" because I called this store second and got the same guy (I recognized his voice).ALSO, if you go out to everyprice.com, I"m not so sure that these companies are not ALL affiliated with the same crooks.....BE CAREFUL!!"

"My experiance with these guys was bizarro world. Getting the warranty I purchased took phone call after phone call with many broken promises. The only way I finally got through to them was to dispute the credit card charge. I wouldn't purchase a ticket to heaven from these liars. It was the same trying to get an invoice for the charges also (my purchases came with no packing slip, invoice, no documantation at all). "

"I called to confirm order and was told that what I purchased was a camera & lens and that I would need to purchase everything else at an inflated cost. The salesperson said that he would throw in a camera case for free. The salesperson discretely said that my bill was $629 when it was supposed to be $444. I questioned him about it and he said that I wanted the upgrade kit. I told him I did not want any additional accesories then he said "you want to cancel the f**kin order" to which I agreed. I am so glad that this happened before my credit card was charged. I cancelled my credit card and will be changing my email address."

"I ordered on website the Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera and was instructed to call to confirm. When I called I was asked if I wanted to buy a charger (told the AA batteries only last 20 minutes) - I said no. After completing the order and hanging up, there was a voice message to call stargate photo and speak with James. When I called James he told me my order was canceled. I didn't understand how that happened so I asked to reorder it. He asked if I spoke English and I said I did. (just being polite). Again I asked about reordering and he said "I told you it is out of stock, you don't listen very well do you?" (very rude!) He said it would take eight weeks to get the camera - did I still want to order it? I declined. If there is a minus rating that is what I would give StarGate!"

"High-pressure sales after already ordered. Refused to just do internet order. Confusing sales pitch (2 gig mega-byte 1 gig for a 1 gbyte product). Very high prices - "you'll thank me" - for 200% over MSRP? Also was sent a replacement battery instead of a long-life battery - virtually the same battery as the stock battery. Also, confusing warranty - tried to buy a one-year extended battery, got charged for 5. Finally, shipping on invoice was 8%, was charged 9%+."

"I was looking for a Sony HC46 Camcorder and found it on wawadigital.com for a very low price. So I placed an order online and got an email asking me to call to confirm the order. About five minutes later I received a phone call at home (I gave them my number when I ordered online) from one of their sales "people"-- a cocky sounding New-Yorker. He was rude but not profane. He verified my info and tried to sell me a battery and some other overpriced items. I said no thanks. He then told me the item is on backorder 6 weeks-- do ya still want it? Hmm... ok, I said. He then got off the phone.

After thinking about this conversation for a few minutes, I knew that I'd been had. This item must be a stripped-down version of the retail product that their website claimed they were selling. A few minutes later I got an email saying that this item is on backorder and that they did "everything they could to locate it" for me, but that I should cancel the order. I called them up and canceled the order. They were quick with me but not profane (which I expected). Now hopefully they won't sell my CC or personal info.

Since then, I've also had a similar experience with another Brooklyn/Bronx, NY based internet "retailer." Lesson learned. Stay away from these slimey NY hucksters.

"HORRIBLE! Ordered a digital camera on Monday, and received an email asking to confirm order. Called back to confirm, was put an hold, then the person picked up, told me to give him all the info over the phone again because he could not access the computer, put me on hold several times more, and after about 25 min of me being on hold with short interuptions they had my name, address and we got disconnected. I called back on Tuesday to confirm the order again, they asked me for my order number, ask if I would like to buy a memory card to go with my camera. I said I already had a memory card from a prior camera, so no, thatks. Their next sencence was :"your order has been cancelled" I asked why, and they said they did not have the camera in stock. Immediately I looked on their website, and guess what, the website still showed the camera available. I've asked it the order has been cancelled, why have I not received teh email with the cancellation confirmation, they said they'll send it out, and I did receive it 8 hours later. I guess tey decided to cancel my order because I did not want to buy a memory card. "

"I tried to buy a camera the casio exilim z750 the ad said it was a new camera the price wascheaper than anywhere on the internet and in stores. so price is good but this store is poised to sell accessories and other merchandise. Ofcourse the camera I ordered was new yet they called me 5 days later on a sunday and said hey the camera you oredered is refurbished and do you still want it? I told them I was buying a new camera and they said no the camera I ordered was refurbished. The only thing we have is refurbished unless you want the new one and that will cost extra. What a load of BS.
I was furious and told them to cancel my order.
False advertising, poor customer relations, they still have to send my money back.
I would avoid this company unless you want to wait around for them to call you and change your order for you.

these people are awful. their website says they had the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 for $250 dollars, the lowest price on the internet.

i went through the process of adding this to my cart, entering my information, clicking buy, receiving a confirmation email...

not 20 seconds after i placed my order, i receieved a phone call from them trying to sell me a memory card for like 50 bucks more than it should go for... he kept saying "this is a great camera, i have this camera."

when i asked if the camera came with a memory card, he said no. (when in reality, it does. he told me eventually.) continued to pressure me into buying a 100-130 memory card that i didn't need, as soon as i said no he tried to sell me a battery when i found out that it already came with both.

i told him, sorry i don't want it. and before i could say "it" he hung up on me.

i then checked my email and i got a message saying my order had been cancelled.

i called back and asked "has my order been cancelled?" and he says "yes ma'am." and HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN.

i was skeptical about them because their website is not very advanced, and $250 for a $400 camera was an unreasonable price, i knew there was a catch.

basically, pay twice as much for a memory card and you can get a discount on their cameras.

otherwise, they will hang up on your and cancel your order.

the website still says it's available.

"Anyone who gives these sites their credit card number, you need to immediately cancel your card. After my order was "cancelled" because I would not participate in their scam, they either used or sold my credit card number and then went on a shopping spree with it. They also tried to open up several online accounts with other merchants under my name. Do not do business with these folks.

As to the status of these sites, after getting shut down, WaWa Digital moved their site to a new hosting company. To get the new site shut down, email ****@**** with your complaints of fraud and abuse. To get Stargate shut down, call the webhosting company - enom.com at ***-***-**** and complain about how you were defrauded.

Also, everyone should file a complaint with the NY Attorney General's Internet Crime at http://www.oag.state.ny.us/. They have an online form.
