"I purchased what I thought was a new power supply for an older HP computer. I received a used on that didn't work at all. Not only that but this company refused to ship to my address and only to the name on the credit card. So my girlfriend and I had to make special arrangements with UPS to get the item since she works during delivery hours and it was on her card. Customer service was extremely rude and they all are from out of the country. I think this company should be reviewed by the authorities because something seems fishy to me."

"I was ecstatic to find that swnetworksolutions.com claimed to still have a (non-used) discontinued Plextor DVD drive that I was looking for (from the end of the period when Plextor was still making their own great drives, rather than just rebadging inferior ones made by other companies). SWNS' site claimed "Availability: Usually ships the same business day". There was one other vendor that claimed to still have new, late-model Plextors, eSaitech.com, but they wanted to charge a minimum of $75 to ship a single drive!

Therefore I went ahead and placed my order with SWNS. This was back in September. Their website (a Yahoo! store) implied that my credit card had been successfully charged and I received a receipt via email saying "Thank you for purchasing from Southwest Network Solutions...". Two days later, I got another email from them, stating "Your order has being shipped." [sic.].

I waited a few weeks and didn't receive anything, so I used the link in my order confirmation email to check on the status of my order. It stated "Will ship in 4-7 days", so I figured they must have made some mistake on their inventory but now had located the drive I ordered.

I waited a few more weeks, however, and still nothing arrived. I checked the website again and it was still claiming "Will ship in 4-7 days". I then emailed them, multiple times, asking what was going on with my order, but received NO response. I also tried calling them but just got an answering machine (a consumer-grade model playing the preset announcement).

Finally, this month (January), I gave up trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and called up my credit card company to dispute the charge. My CC company said they couldn't find a charge for the amount stated, so I checked through my statements and indeed it seems that they never even charged my card, and were apparently just leading me on (perhaps in the *hopes* of actually getting ahold of the product they claimed they had?).

As of this month, my order status page finally says "This order has been cancelled.". No reason given, and still never received any response from them other than the initial receipt and false shipping confirmation email.

"First time I used this store, this is on the Yahoo network so I was a little leary. The online order went well, I was notified of shipment and cc was not charged until the unit shipped. This store seems to specialize in older parts. Price was fair if not spectacular."
