Do not shop here. Absolute waste of time.

"Placed an order, got confirmation with an order number.

Waited 7 weeks, no communication, no delivery.

Called to check on the order, spent 15 minutes on hold, just to be told "yeah, they never processed that order for some reason." So they cancelled my order and transfered me to the manufacturer.

I needed these parts 7 weeks ago and apparently Southern-tool.com did absolutely nothing to fulfill the order I placed. Apparently they never would've done anything at all if I hadn't called to follow up.

Please do not support this business.

Different Experience

"I read these 1-star and 0 -star reviews and called Southern Tool with my concerns. I spoke to Robert. He was unaware of the reviews but said that he had been in business for years and had many happy customers. He assured me that he would handle any problems personally and gave me his direct contact information via a follow-up email. The Jet JMD-15 Mill Drill is in my shop and up and working. Price honored including the free base. The only negative was the 5-10 day delivery estimate; the Mill Drill took about 4 weeks to arrive and the trucking company was more of a problem, showing up without a heads-up call that was requested. I am happy with Southern Tool."

Don't honer web prices

"Ordered an item, CC was charged nothing shipped for over a week. Then they cancelled my order with no explanation. When I contacted them they said they had bad pricing on the item and I would have to pay an additional $300 over the original advertised price if I wanted the item. Poor communication and don't honor prices even after being charged."

Incompetent

"I reached out to them before placing an order to see if the item was in stock. They said yes and told me to place the order. Three weeks went by and I asked about it. They said they were having trouble finding the item. Another couple weeks later they told me it was out of stock.

ZERO stars

"Ordering this equipment wasn't the issue. The freight company was the issue!! The freight driver was a complete @$$ to me when he called to see if I had a way to unload it off their truck. Then he tells me that he MIGHT come today if he gets sent to another location. I called him the next morning and he answers the phone saying "WHAT" ... excuse me!! What kind of freight company are you guys using?! I would highly suggest not using them anymore because it's been a nightmare ever since I ordered this stuff!!! I run a business and I don't have time to sit around and wait just to see if my things will show up today...or the next day....or whenever the freight driver feels like he wants to drive today. I've waited for over 2 weeks now and this is not the way I run a business. I will never buy from these people again if they don't use a different freight company.

Wish I could do 0 Stars!!

"We paid high dollar for a piece of equipment for our company, while in the process of buying it was not hard to get a response back from the Director in internet sales, but once they had our money and were waiting on the item to ship, all we got was the run around. We paid extra for direct shipping and to "Save us about 3 days" according the him. When the day came for the delivery he informs me that they bypassed our shop and were headed about 6 hours south of my location. This was a Thursday. I was then promised it would be Tuesday of the following week. Come Tuesday just run around about "Calling Traffic to see where it is". Come Wednesday can not get an answer. Finally I call the carrier myself to learn it Will be Sometime Thursday, and is located an hour and half north of us.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY LIE AND GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND AND HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. THE SAD PART I WAS DEALING WITH THE "MAN IN CHARGE OF INTERNET SALES"

VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!!! WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN

Confusing shipping policy and confusing sales people

"The shopping cart clearly stated free shipping but the sales person warped the meaning to mean that any accessories were shipped free. I ordered accessories and they billed for shipping saying that the machine shipping should have been free. I could not trust what they said to be true! The order was then canceled and i paid $10 more elsewhere and had no troubles at all."

"Almost no communication from sales concerning shipping. I've had to initiate contact every time. Of course, they had no problem calling me to make the sale. Once you've made the purchase there will be no follow up. "

"They sell great products but the salesperson I dealt with left much to be desired. A near total lack of communication. I had to initiate every conversation about when tool was to be shipped, why wasn't it shipped, etc.

Items that were shipped direct from manufacturer were OK. Items shipped from Southern Tool took forever to deliver even thou I paid for the shipping.
