"I purchased a set of kitchen chairs from South Mission, order # 2011-04-34721, for 2 chairs.

The item we received is defective. There are numerous spots on the metal which are rusted. Parts are flimsy or inoperative. There are numerous stains and discolorations on the metal. The item is filthy. It is covered in black tar or grease in numerous spots. Finally, the item is advertised as being chrome, however, it is clear in multiple places that it is painted silver or silver tone and not chrome.

We emailed the seller 5 times after receiving the item and got no reply, so we filed a dispute with American Express. Immediately after, the owner contacted us, said he heard from American Express, and said he'd file a dispute with the UPS even though the item was defective in box, not damaged by the shipper. We are considering reporting this to the UPS investigators who contacted us to verify South Mission's claim.

When American Express contacted us with South Mission's formal response, we noticed the seller claimed that we never contacted him which is false, and that the item was fine as shipped, which is also false. The seller is basically telling us to return the defective item at our cost to get a refund for something defective and not as described out of the box. Unfortunately, the return shipping cost for 2 large kitchen chairs is nearly $90. The item was about $150, so this makes it impractical.

I found this seller to be dishonest in his actions, and the items he sent us were total garbage. Avoid this seller.

"Dishonest Seller.
Poor customer communication (they simply ignore my attempts to communicate and work towards a resolution).
False advertising.

1. Placed order online for a *tilting* market umbrella for $39.95. From the description: New this year is our OVERSIZED 9' patio/market umbrella! We newest design technology in umbrellas allow you to tilt the umbrella to block the sun as it heads down towards the horizon.
2. Being proactive, I followed up with an email to confirm that the umbrella tilts.
3. I receive a reply from Krishna Mainali - "Yes, the $49 umbrella tilts." (not exactly clear whether or not the umbrella that I ordered tilts)
4. I reply back - "I ordered the $39 umbrella. If it does not tilt, can you please cancel my order? Thanks."
5. I receive no response.

2010/09/16 -
1. I receive the umbrella and it is not as described (does not tilt).
2. I email a request to begin the return/refund process.
3. I receive no response.

2010/09/20 -
1. I follow up and again ask for a return with full refund.
2. I receive no response.

* I noticed that they changed their website description after I told them to cancel my order. In my humble opinion, it confirms that they received my cancellation before they knowingly shipped me the falsely advertised product.
** I also saved their product page with the original description of a tilting umbrella.

***Update***
After I submitted a review here and a complaint to the BBB, I received an email from South Mission Online.
They offer to accept a return but shipping will not be refunded. Since I received "free shipping", I needed to confirm that it would not be deducted from my $39.95 refund.
I ask if I will be refunded the full $39.95 after I pay to ship the umbrella back to them (for their mistake).
No response.
