"Beware! I placed an order for two items in mid March. The tracking numbers didn't work and I finally got through to UPS to find out the items were shipped then cancelled. I never got any notification that my items would not be shipped. My credit card was charged and processed so that was not the problem. I sent an email inquiry but no response. My next step is the better business bureau. I'm in April now with no product, no resolution and no refund yet.

"I purchased a video tripod with oil filled head and spherical mount. It was initially quickly delivered. I didn't use it until I had owned it for about 6 months. On setting it up I discovered that the spirit level had lost its' fluid. I contacted South Bay Camera via email and told them what was happening. The requested a photo of the offending part. I sent them one and they promptly sent an entire new head for the tripod, they paid the shipping and didn't even ask for the old on back. WOW what a great seller. If I need other photographic items they will get my business."

"The company goes by the names Southbay Camera and Southside Camera. I ordered a camera and reportedly compatible lenses as well as memory. The charge to my credit card was $100 more than the quoted price. Then the order arrived on time only to find the lens would not focus on the camera, which maybe a manufacture defect or incompatability, but not acceptable. First I returned the lenses, without getting full refund and after a great deal of nonproductive telephone time, and ultimately returned the camera due to their inability to refund the amount for the lenses. After more calls, none of which were returned, they finally credited my credit card all but $45, after I had to pay shipping twice to return items to the.
The entire experience was frustrating and unsatisfactory. I will not use this etailer again!

"I have ordered a BBQ Grill From their website and was told that the prices vary from state to state and I had in mind that they will charge $500 to have the 300LB item delivered. I got quotes from other companies that it will cost between the 300-500 range but South Bay Camera only charged me $150. I was well informed throughout the whole process. I got over $1000 off from retail for the grill and incredibly low priced shipping. I am thinking about switching to a 6 burner and will definitely recommend South Bay Camera to all my friends. XTREME SATISFACTION!!!"

"I just ordered a lens package for my camera, which included a number of other items. I’d been shopping/researching these items online for a couple of weeks and decided that for the money I had to spend, this was the best deal. However, I was very concerned about the NY address because I narrowly escaped the scammers in NY when I bought my camera in April 08. This time, when I did the research, I got no negative feedback concerning South Bay Camera and ordered the lens package from them thru Ebay. The entire transaction went very well! The shipment was going out a little late because SBC had received some damaged merchandise. The man I talked to at SBC was very professional and apologetic, and in order to make up for it, he sent my package as a 2-day FedEx special, no extra charge. Everything arrived on time and was EXACTLY as they advertised. I am very pleased and will do business with them again."

"I found SouthBayCamera selling the item that I wanted on eBay but I was skeptical of them because of their NY address, so I gave them a call. They were very friendly and professed to have the item in stock. Evidently, they have a strong presence on Ebay and Amazon. I waited a couple of days to see if I could find it at a better price elsewhere but couldn't. Again I talked to their customer rep who told me that they had the item in stock. I decided to order it and used my credit card. It arrived two days later, in perfect shape, the shipper even helped me lift the grill out of the box and onto my dolly. (I inspected it before I signed for it). I assembled the grill and used it and the whole transaction was incredibly easy and good."
