"Horrible Experience with store.sony.com website

I made a purchase of ps3 entertainment bundle from store.sony.com on 11/24/2011 for $199.0+tax. The product has not been shipped to me till date. When I called the sony store customer service, they told me that the product was no more available and that I should cancel my order. Why didnt they tell me this earlier and why are they telling me this after over a week and that too when I call to find out what happened to the order. The same deal was available on many other sites and now the deal has gone from all the sites. They have wasted my time and if I have to buy the product now, I will have to pay over $100 extra. Why should I, its because of them that I was not able to buy it from other sites.

Customer service staff is also pathetic. The lady who answered my call just kept on repeating that the item is out of stock no matter what I say. It was because of them that I could not get the same deal from other sites. The items in the PS3 bundle are available separately on sony store website, so I asked them to ship me those if they are out of the bundle, but she denied. When I asked her to connect me to her supervisor,she put me onto hold for a long time and later told me that the supervisor and manager were busy in a meeting. She would stop answering me many times over the call and put the call on hold for several minutes just to make me disconnect the call.

"I've had terrible experiences with Sony cameras, laptops, and customer service. I got the Sony Cybershot 12 megapixel camera about three years ago and had to send it in three times (never dropped it or even got it within a foot of water). They never fixed the problem and when my warranty ran out I was stuck with a useless camera that wouldn't focus or even flash. I'm now having a terrible time with a Sony Laptop. Same thing, the computer began having problems right away (even with complete malware/virus services and proper, careful care). I sent it in for repair and got it back in near the same condition and almost three months later. I will never buy another Sony product, very dissatisfied."

"I wish I'd read this site before making a purchase. Sent laptop back for service. They shipped it back without even looking at it. I shipped it right back to them. Meanwhile I've been a month without my laptop!!! Sony SUCKS!!!"

"Worst customer services in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Sony Store is a joke. Returnned the camera after 2 days and they charge me a restocking fee of $15.00. Call Sony customer service and they said they cannot do anything. Did not have any problem in the past with Canon... Sony lost my support NOW."

"Do not buy goods from Sony online this year. It takes months before you get what you have paid for delivered – IF you get it at all. Sony blames the tsunami even for goods ordered a long time after the tsunami, refuses to give delivery dates and refund what you have paid. This way you end up lending/giving away your money to a completely shameless company in crisis without getting what you have paid for. Share!"

"The worst customer service I have ever seen. Representatives do not know anything. Keeping you on hold forever. Putting useless notes in their system, but the next time you call those notes are no longer there. You have to wait for 10 min while the new rep is reading notes and then for another 15 minutes so he can type new notes. The TV broke in 3 months and the Sony does not have parts. However, instead of offering what they can do to meet their warranty obligations, they are telling me to wait for parts, but noone can tell if / when these parts will ever arrive."

"NEVER EVER sony again. Horrible laptop & horrible customer service.
i purchased a laptop 2 month ago and never open the box till last Friday. After turning on the laptop it only worked for 4 hours and broke down. According to Best Buy Technical Service it is a Motherboard problem & probably laptop was already broken when i purchased it. Sony's customer service is sending me a empty box to send it back to the repair center. I paid full price for broken laptop & now i am getting refurbished laptop. i am leaving the US in 25 days and try give them Europe address They told me they cant ship to Europe & they cant promise to fix it in 25 days. How about i pay $250 more and get a new laptop from sony store because i don't have time? But no they cant do that also.
I wrote a complain letter & got a US phone number to call for solving the problem. When i call this was the respond "i am trying to help you out we are sending you a box i don't understand why are you still complaining. No we cant ship to Europe give us one of your friends address they can ship it to you.

"Product won't hold a charge. Can't get the battery to hold any charge at all. The second the cord is out, the unit goes dead. Apparently, Sony doesn't actually fix these items, just sends them out again. Good news, though, if you don't mind your time being completely wasted, you can return it for a refund (you pay shipping & handling). That way, they can immediately send it to another customer, still not working, and call it "refurbished.""

"DONT BUY SONY AUDIO PRODUCTS!

Sony has lost its quality in both product and customer service - i paid 180 bucks for a (model# RDPXF100IP) boombox speaker with radio for iphone/pod (best buy) and after 6 months it electronically died. kaput. My previous 120$ Klipsch speakers lasted 5 years.

I need a battery operated speaker system for my livelihood as an artist. It was a huge investment for an artist, this 280$. I thought I’d go for the built in battery as I was spending a lot in 8 D batteries every week with my Klipsch. I needed one with at least 5 hours battery life. If I needed a proper system, I could have paid the additional for a quality BOSE system.

Returned broken speaker under warrantee, but it took a long time….after entire month, involving an email exchange from David herrero at the Laredo office, a "refurbished" replacement arrived completely non functional. It changed from radio to input to ipod modes all by itself, and in radio changed stations all by itself. Plus the battery life was only 3 hours. Obviously there was no quality control in Sony's "refurbishing" the product. It even looked cosmetically worse than the Speakers I returned.
I immediately wrote Herrero to report the problem but NO REPLY, ie. My email to the Laredo office was not responded to. I tried to set up an online exchange, but that did not go thru. Then I spent an hour of my time over 3 calls being passed from one office to another (no doubt in philipines) and used up 40 cell phone (overage) minutes. I requested to escalate my service to ask for a policy exception - to send me a PROMPT replacement that was in New condition.
By now I've wasted almost 400$ in Sony, through time and money and lost income (from not having the speakers to do my work). I feel its fair to request a policy exception to receive (expedited) new model that works. But no. all i have to say about customer service:
inefficient, waste of my time, non responsive, inflexible, despite the extreme inconvenience.
Lesson learned: DO NOT BUY SONY AUDIO PRODUCTS PEOPLE, the japan company sold off this sector and its no longer the quality you expect in Sony.
If sony gives a damn about its customers opinions, please know that the 'priority' customer service rep agent "CXML" is useless, minimally helpful. I'll be sure to replicate this review with Apple to help would-be customers avoid Sony Audio products for their iphone/pod. Unless sony management reads this and responds. And wants to keep me as a Sony loyal customer.

"I ordered a refurbished Sony surround sound system on a Sunday (1/16), it shipped out that Monday (1/17) and arrived here three days later on Thursday (1/20). It was packaged well and arrived in perfect shape. After getting it setup, I initially couldn't get it to work with my PS3, but it turned out that it just needed to be changed to a different setting on the receiver. I'm very happy with it :)"

"I ordered a lens as a christmas present, but it was damaged in shipping. (Fedex didn't even deliver it.) 5 days later...nothing from Sony despite several emails and several calls. Their service reps say there's nothing they can do and that it's some other department that takes care of this. Their path is clear: send me another one, immediately. Why is this so hard for them? I would order another one from a more reliable retailer, but if Sony all of a sudden does their job and ships one, I don't want two.

Extremely disappointed. Sony should stick to making stuff and abandon their byzantine attempt at stores.

"I purchased a Sony Reader Touch from SonyStyle.com and immediately tried to cancel it. It was fairly easy to get in contact with someone and they were able to have the delivery returned directly to them. The problem is that I'm still waiting to be refunded, and have been told multiple times that it will be "soon". It's been over a month, and I IMMEDIATELY received the money back for the extended warranty, but no dice on the cost of the device itself. I almost sent back my new Sony Reader on principle."

"Don't ever shop at the sonystyle.com I ordered a game from them, got the wrong one and needed a replacement. I had to use many hours explain that I needed to return them because of the wrong model. They kept saying that "the policy is that the game cannot be returned"

After spending hours, they understood. I returned the product with tracking number. Checked that it was arrived at the destination. Got the replacement, I thought everything was completed.

NOOO! Today, they send the email to me that they will charge for the game (from 6 months ago). I called them, explained everything. They asked me for 6 months old tracking number!!! What's the heck!!

DON'T BUY from THEM!!!

Ps. Once you use the gift card, if there is value left. Keep it. The online store doesn't "store" your card value. The money is still in the gift card.

"Don't buy product from Sonystyle.com. better looking another online store. The price is Expensive than other store too. The customer service is bad... They can't handle you. They can't do price match. They hold our complain for price match and make us hope that the price match is approve, but after 48 hours is denied.... BAD BAD experience with this store.

have to waiting more than 30 min, before the answer our call.... Spend a lot time to talk with them but they don't give give solution.

Its my first experience with the customer service....
