""Frustrating" would be a good one-word review of this website. I cannot find fault with the selection or pricing of the Sails Marine website, as they are consistently one of the lowest priced websites I find in Google Shopping when I go after Cold Steel products.

What I will find fault with is their shipping and their customer service; there was no option in terms of what kind of shipping you could select from with this website, it was U.S.P.S. First Class (i.e.; snail mail) only, and the seller was slow to get the item in the mail at that. I placed my order on a Tuesday morning, got my USPS tracking number Thursday night, and did not actually start getting updates on where the item was or when it would be delivered until Friday. It was finally delivered on Monday, because the USPS sorting centers are closed on the weekend.

Secondly, customer service. I lost my password at one point, and the password retrieval application on the website was giving me trouble, so I wrote customer service. A day later I got a rather bizarre response from them about changing my shipping address, something of which I had not asked about. I never did get a response to my situation, but was able to resolve it on my own.

After learning that the website is based out of a private residence and not an actual business front, I have no intention of ordering from or dealing with this website again. The value they can give on the products I'm after are not worth the aggravation involved in dealing with this site.

"BEWARE!!!!

The sent me a defective product that also had missing pieces! When I asked them to correct the mistake, they told me I had to pay to return it to them AND that I would get charged a 20% restocking fee!!

"WORST AND ONLY WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH AN INTERNET COMPANY. I don't mind a guy trying to make a go at life from his home. BUT, I paid for Fedex shipping only to receive USPS in return with no explanation or price adjustment or notification. As noted by others I called to inquire. AUTOMATED response sends you to their web site. SO, I emailed with questions. INSTEAD OF answering my questions I too was also sent an email telling me to read their "terms". THESE "TERMS" will not answer your questions either. MY response was sending another email reminding them of the Federal regulations and what they are required to do by law. MY ORDER WAS CANCELLED!! Also, they lied to me about my order shipping date. I made my inquiries the day after my item supposedly had been shipped. SINCE THEY WERE ABLE TO CANCEL my order the day after it was shipped it obviously never was shipped the day they said it was. I placed my order on 01-27-2012 (Friday) paying for Fedex shipping. ORDER SUPPOSEDLY shipped 01-30-2012 (Monday) the same day I made inquires after receiving email it had shipped USPS and not Fedex! On 01-31-2012 I am informed via email my order was cancelled, and this being their way of answering my polite and legitimate questions concerning the change in choice of shipping carrier. LIES, DECIET, FALSE ADVERTISING, AND VENGEFUL DISCRIMINATION IN RETALIATION FOR ASKING QUESTIONS. AND ALL IN PLACE OF CUSTOMER CARE AND CONCERN AND GOOD SERVICE. Sounds like a Dictatorship instead of a business. YA VOLT COMMANDANT MINE ISSS NOT TO QUESTION WHY , MINE IS BUT TO GET MINE ORDER CANCELLED IF I DO, SIG HEIL, SIG HEIL!!!! Still waiting for my money as of 02-01-2012 today. What has made such people to be so hateful!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IS MY RECOMMENDATION!!!!!!o"

"I am always buying knives and outdoor gear. I admit it... I'm a gear nut. But I don't just collect- I use and borderline abuse to find the best equipment. I found Sails Marine while looking for a new hawk to take on a month long adventure on th AP trail. Alot of companies list low prices but make up for it in shipping or false advertising but Sails Marine was priced the lowest I have ever seen. Their shipping is very low as well. Customer service was the best I have ever dealt with. I will shop with them exclusively now. 5 out of 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!"

"Placed order late on a Monday but forgot to add a product to that order. Customer service allowed me add that item to the order and they still got it out the door and to me promptly! Very pleased with the prices and customer service. Will definitely use Sails Marine again and recommend to my friends.

"This Company is the Worst online shopping Ever. The company is run out of a residential home. I made a purchase on a Sunday and tried to call them on Monday 8/15/2011 and got voice mail you cannot talk to a real person. So I emailed them and mentioned that I did not like invisible companies and asked if the product was in stock and that I needed ASAP since I paid for fast delivery. I received an email reply canceling my order for reason "Inappropriate language" all because I stated that I did not like them being invisible. They take your credit card info very dangerous! They think they are God or something.. Stay away from Sails Marine located 105 Hillside Lane Monroe Ct. Just Google the address it's a house!!! Oh and last but not lease they blocked my IP address at their Firewall Got love it!!!"

"Anyone thinking about purchasing any products from this company is making a huge mistake. Unlike doing business with any other on-line retailer this company is not willing to do what is right to make the customer satisfied. By just referring to the "terms and conditions" seems to be all they need to correct any problems. Service is the key in any successful company and this company doesn't seem to have this word in their phi;philosophy. STEER CLEAR!"

"Worst online shopping to date. I made a purchase heard nothing for a week, contacted their customer service, questioned shipping procedure and they cancelled my order? Didnt even ask just cancelled order. Terrible communication, will not buy no matter discount."
