"“Not the way to handle a problem YOU caused and keep a customer”

Ordered a gift for my niece on eBay last week. UPS tracking indicated it was to arrive Monday, 7/20. Around mid-day, I received an email notifying me of a mix-up on their end and informing me they wanted to submit a full refund. Wait a minute -- how about asking me if I am willing to wait for the item to be returned to you, keep my money for now, then sending the item to me at a later date (which I would have agreed to do). Not this online merchant. Instead of responding to my email asking for details (see emails below), they refunded my money on Paypal, then cancelled my order entirely. When I contacted them by phone AND email to say I never agreed to cancel the sale, the rep I spoke to insisted I did so, and did not seem interested in finding a win/win solution. Instead, he directed me back to eBay. Something about the whole interaction seemed sketchy. Suggest other buyers beware of StuffOregon. Sadly, the experience has kinda soured me on buying from eBay in the future. Have never had a problem like this with Amazon. ~Frank Pomata, New York
