"I purchased a barebones computer,the parts came on time. I assemble the hard drive,memory and other components. The system worked great for just about a year. then it wouldn't start up, I checked the power supply, it was good so I called SMK support they told me to send in the whole box so they could check it before the warranty was up the company replaced the motherboard free and fast. great service, I will recommend your company SMK components to everyone I know.

"I ordered some Kingston memory, and it is exactly as advertised. It took a little time to process, but nothing was wrong, they just needed more info about shipping for security reasons, which I thought was a great idea on their part. Once processed, order came earlier than they had indicated. Not a problem here, and I would order from them again!"

"Ordered two "AMD Barebones" systems on Thursday, January 16th. The order wasn't completely processed until Monday, January 27th. But received the two boxes (well packaged!) on Friday, January 31st.

Both systems were exactly what I ordered, and I have had no problems with any of the hardware (yet!). Only problem with SMK is the long time it took to process my order.

"Dont buy from this company if you dont mind getting your stuff later than expected. The website told me the order would be processed in 2-3 days, my order of 1 item took 5 business days, and when I checked the tracking number it has only been just processed. Its not 7 business days after ordering the product and it hasnt even left their vicinity."

"HORRIBLE product. it broke and they would not let me return it for a refund because it broke exactly 31 days after i got it, one day after their return policy allows you to return FUNCTIONING products for a refund."

"RUN! RUN NOW! DON'T LOOK BACK!
I placed an order on monday. I payed for 2-3 day shipping. Tuesday I receive an e-mail saying my order had processed. I got another e-mail saying my expected ARRIVAL date was the coming Thursday or Friday. This was all cool and well until Friday when I called to receive my FedEx tracking number. I live on the east coast this horrible company is in California so I had to wait till 6pm to receive my tracking number for some reason. Then when I checked the status of my order I had found out it had JUST SHIPPED THAT FRIDAY when I made my inquiry. If I hadn't called to check who knows when I would've recieved it. DON'T ORDER UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND YOUR ITEM BEING OUTDATED ON ARRIVAL! I e-mailed asking for a refund on the $25 I payed to have my items before the weekend and still no repsonse.

"THIS COMPANY MUST BE RUN BY STONERS!!! I live one friggin hour away from them and they've already taken a week. I called and twice they told me "duh..you should have gotten your e-mail by now...I'll go ahead and take care of this" --> bull. If you're not the patient type I don't recommend ordering from this company. Allstar is slow as hell."

"Like a previous poster I was looking for a board to replace an older MSI K7T Pro2a that was giving me problems. I checked pricewatch and found the IWILL KK266Plus for $59 @ SMK/All Star. I also noticed that when I visited their website it did NOT state it was the "Plus" model in the description. I did see, however, that the -R (RAID) model was $69 and that when I went to check out with that model IT DID state it was the PLUS in the description on the receipt. I tried calling them to ask about the motherboard but for most of the day (when I attempted to call) I only received busy signals. Since the -R had the "PLUS" designation in the receipt, I ordered it. The next day they posted a charge to me account. 9 days later I get an email telling me that they have refunded my money because "The Iwill motherboard purchased on your order is no longer manufactured by Iwill". It took 9days to realize that? What kind of inventory system do they have?

Keep in mind, that you can't check shipping status for quite some time either: "Your tracking
number should be available approximately 24 to 48Hrs before your package is
scheduled to arrive. Our telephone representatives do not have access
to tracking information before it becomes available on the website. We want to be able to help all of our customers as quickly as possible, so please do
not call or e-mail for order status unless your order has not arrived by the last scheduled arrival date "

If you choose ground shipping that's ~9 Days before you'll get them to look into it.

"I'm guessing that most of you have used Pricewatch to search for computer components. I have used it countless times and never had a problem. That was until I started searching for a KT133A motherboard to replace the cheezeball ECS I got in a bundle. I searched and searched the reviews and the IWill KK266 Plus was rated most overclockable almost everywhere. So off to pricewatch I go. The lowest price for The KK266 *PLUS* is $56 at www.allstarcomponents.com. Sounded like a deal. However on their site, It's listed as the older KK266. So I e-mail their customer service and they replied that it was, in fact the KK266 Plus. So I placed the order with "Must be the KK266 Plus version" in order comments. A week later I get it - original KK266 and not only that but it was revision 1.2 which was recalled. I call them, get blown off by their customer service rep and then proceed to e-mail them. They haven't responded. Luckily, a couple of days later, I emailed Iwill's RMA dept, they agreed to RMA the board and send me the Plus. They rock!
The moral of this story is do *not* Shop at Allstar/SMK components. It's worth the extra money to shop elsewhere and not worry about or deal with the crap that I have.
