"I too have been SCAMMED by Rite Price magazines!! I ordered the US magazine back in July 2010 for my daughter in college. I was told it would take 12 weeks for delivery. She ended up moving back in August for the semester so I called and talked to someone and changed the address. He told me it would be another 12 weeks until delivery started. Twelve weeks later I emailed and the only thing he would tell me is that it is being delivered to the address at college and they never got an address change. I have emailed numerous times now with no response and when I call it says the messages are full and never an answer. Now is your chance to make this RITE!!"

"I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. I ordered a magazine for my wife back in December and it said it would take 7-12 weeks. I just went to the magazines website and looked on the magazines subscription page and we are set to get our first issue in mid February for half the price everyone else was charging. I guess people need to have more patience. "

"I too have been scammed by Rite Price. In October I ordered People Magazine for my daughter. I waited the 7-12 weeks and nothing. There have been no responses to my e-mails, and yes, the phone simply rings and rings. They need to be shut down. I am contacting BBB. They will not get away with this.

"I hope that when Robert, who finally responded to my emails, goes home at night that his mother crawls out from under his trailer and bites him. He is running a scam. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS RIP-OFF ORGANIZATION. I'm going to see if I can file a complaint with the AG in NY. I learned from the credit card company that they can do nothing about these scum bags.

Hare's Robert's reply I got in November:

"We were awaiting a reply from the clearinghouse we had used until recently, and have yet to hear back from them. Since they are being unresponsive and we do not want to treat our customers in the same fashion, I placed a new 2 year order to CR for the inconvenience caused. Orders sent to this clearinghouse usually start within 8 weeks. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience caused."

"I just filed a complaint with the BBB. I ordered a renewal subscription for New York Magazine last October and have not received an issue. After several attempts to contact them I decided to call NYM subcription office and they have no record of the transaction. Unfortunately, my credit card was charged. I would not recommend them to anyone."

"Add me to the list of disappointed and what appears to be scammed customers.
I tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt, but they clearly don't care too much about their reputation or they would be responding to their customers! Dec 9 appears to be the last sighting.
Their website lists hours as m-f, so how can multiple email inquiries go weeks with no response? And the phone listed that tells you to leave a message just rings and rings, then disconnects.
I ordered Oct 20 after hearing about them via Amazon as a sponsored link, waited to order until I saw some positive reviews coming in. As December approached and the numerous negative reviews starting adding up, I emailed the company. It took numerous attempts, but finally did receive a response and was some what reassured by Robert. I was still not at 12 weeks, so tried to be patient. It appears Dec 9 was the magical day as that is when they did respond to some of the reviews here.
As of today, nothing. I have sent numerous email inquiries and attempted to phone. Again, as a business with hours listed as m-f it shouldn't take over a week to respond.
My next course of action will be to report as fraud to my bank as well as contact the better business bureau, and I encourage you all to do the same.
Rite Price you should be ashamed. If you are legit, lets see it, prove us all wrong.

"I cannot get in touch with this company! I placed an order for NY magazine on 9/24/10 as my current subscription was expiring in December giving plenty of time for the new one to take effect. NY mag has no record of my new order through Rite Price, I have sent 3 emails and called several times. There is no answer and no answering machine. I cannot claim fraud on my credit card as it has been > 90 days. I had no idea when I placed this order that someone could run a business like this. I hope by posting this review that they will respond to this complaint since they are not responding to anything else. "

"I only wish I saw these reviews before I placed my order. I purchased a subscription to US Weekly back in September and dutifully waited the 7-12 weeks for it to arrive. I contacted them mid December by email and they did reply to tell me that it hadn't been the full 12 weeks and to wait it out. Well now it's past 14 weeks and still no magazine. I work at a magazine and there is no way it takes this long. I just called their number twice and it rings 8 times and disconnects...no option for voice mail. I believe I have been scammed and will give them one more day to reply to my email of yesterday before I contact the BBB and my credit card company for a fraud report. "

"All of the negative reviews appear to indicate an unreliable vendor. Wish I had read these before wasting my money.

Ordered a 3-year subscription to NY Magazine on July 7, 2010. Calls to Rite Price were a waste. E-mails occasionally answered. Robert repeatedly assured me that order was placed and was ok. After months he replied that his clearinghouse would not process my order at that price because I don't live in the NY tri-state area. But he would re-place order and pay the difference. I thanked him and said ok. But I also quickly renewed directly with NY Mag at $24.95 for one year so that the mag would not stop coming while Rite Price did their thing.

In December 2010 NY Mag received the Rite Price order for ONE year. So instead of 3 years at $29.55 all I received is ONE year at a price higher than the list price directly from the mag.

Forget calling Robert. I emailed him suggesting that if he just sent me the $5 difference I'd be no worse off than paying list directly from the mag. Waited two weeks for a reply before posting this review.

My bad experience with Rite Price is generally similar to those of the many negative reviews on this site. In my opinion, Rite Price should be avoided in favor of honest subscription services.

They don't respond to their website's customer service form, emails to them bounce, and neither an employee or voicemail answers their phone. After trying in vain to contact them for several months and being ignored, I've filed a fraudulent charge report with my credit card company. Do not order from them! "

"Do NOT order from this company. I ordered US magazine 3 months ago...still no magazine. I have e-mailed customer service three times with no reply. I have tried to call the phone number listed on the website and nobody ever picks up the phone. Apparently this is the same experience that many subscribers are having.
