"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER.
I placed an order on 11/13 for items that were stated to be "in stock" at the time of the order. By 11/16, when I'd rec'd no delivery confirmation email, I called customer service to determine the status of the order. I was placed on hold for about 7 minutes and when the representative returned to the line, I was told that one item (a balaclava) would not be in until end of November and the other item (a pair of ladies winter gloves) would "hopefully arrive next week sometime". Seeing as how both of these items were supposed to be in stock, I requested to cancel the order and issue a refund via my original payment method (paypal). The man I spoke with said that that was fine and that I'd see it on my paypal account within a few hours. That was three days ago and I have yet to see a refund on my account. It is now 11/20/07 and I filed a compaint with paypal.
As a side note, the representative I spoke with was not even remotely apologetic or helpful. I explained that I didn't appreciate being charged for items not in stock and not being notified a delay in processing. His reply was simply, "Okay.". Needless to say, I will not be ordering anything further from ridegear.com. "
"On sep 17th i placed an order on ridegear.com for several motorcycle parts and supplies.
On the 18th I received an email that my order will not be shipped, due to most items not being in stock. Nevertheless, my card was charged anyways. I contacted Ridegear by phone and requested the rest of the order be canceled, and my funds be returned. Days later I called again since the funds have not yet showed up in my account. The agent said that he will personally see that it is processed immediately.
On Oct 17th I contacted Ridegear on live chat. I had not received my refund and requested that the funds be returned immediately in a manner I can confirm it actually has been processed. I suggested PayPal or a tracking number for a mailed check. The agent who identified himself only as "costumer solutions 1", apologized, and Informed me that he will personally process the refund. At this point I requested he provide me with some sort of proof that I can actually verify that indeed he did process the refund this time. The agent provided me with a transaction number (623847), whatever that means. When I called my bank, they confirmed that they see the charge, but there is no pending transaction or refund for that amount or from that organization. As I told the agent what the bank just told me, he immediately terminated the chat session."
"Placed order on 8/31/07 for two items.Both showing 24-48 ship time.After 2 weeks without receiving anything and no e-mails i call them and i was informed the items will be shipping tomorrow or Monday.After i stated my dissatisfaction with the way they do the business the person on the phone hang up on me.Horrible experience,never again"
"This store offers very poor customer service. There is no way to check the current status of your order unless you chat with someone online or call. They don't usually bother to package your order until you contact them and request they ship the order. Delivery time for the the past 3 orders has averaged 3 week. "
"I ordered Fieldsheer pants from them and upon receipt found out that they were a size too large. I contacted them via email for an RMA number to return the pants hoping that I would receive return credit.
Right now Ride Gear has my pants and I did not receive a credit back. I have been waiting for 2 monthes to receive the return credit that they promised me through email.
I have resorted to contacting my credit card company to get my money back."
"I ordered a helmet from these guys on 10/24. On 10/30 I emailed to ask if it had been shipped as I had not received a shipping email indicated. I got a response that it will ship out later this week. That means that there is around a week or more between when the order is received and when it is shipped, provided that it does ship this week. I'm not happy with that amount of time and will not use these guys again.
Update 11/1. I contected them and they said that they were having trouble getting helmet from the manufacturer so my order has been cancelled."
"I ordered a motorcycle helmet on 6/4/06 and expected to have it in a week to 10 days. Today is 6/12/06 and the helmet still hasn't shipped. I emailed RideGear yesterday to get the status of my order but no one responded to my inquiry. This is the first and last time I will order from this company."
