"Seems like a good deal of NEGATIVE ratings. So why do people buy from them? My experience: I ordered a TV and was informed by the usual phone call the next day, that it was refurbished, but CLASS "A" REFURBISHED, meaning, said the salesman, that "it was brand new, never opened, but sent back to the factory because the store that sold it went out of business" blah, blah, blah. No real problem here as all my computers are factory refurbished and I have never had problem. But the TV was NOT brand new. I called the company and got a clear history of it. It was in fact returned to the company and truly refurbished, with a warranty cut from 12 months to one month. I suspected the warranty would be less so ordered an extended three year warranty. Again no real problem. But the true problem lies with ProjectorExpo.com for misrepresenting the facts about the TV, and worse, refusing to acknowledge my email to alert them of the misrepresentation by their salesman. That is the real problem: you won't know what you're getting and who will be there to assist you. Bottom Line: be very careful when, or if you deal with ProjectorExpo.com. Even though my written invoice stated "Class A Refurbished" they never acknowledged my concern. Probably best to close them down and have their staff try to find work elsewhere. Would serve them right. A.H. Wexler, MD."

"I purchased a TV from Projector Expo 6 weeks ago (still waiting). I went to the website to see about the status of things, where there was a message saying "please call". The messages before that always said "in progress". By the way, all you get is "in progress" when trying to track your order. So, I called and was told "that department isn't here now, please call on Sunday." Called on Sunday and was told, "I don't know if I can help you, it IS Sunday after all." To which I told him that I was TOLD to call on Sunday after 9am. He said "hold on." After a few minutes he connected me to someone else. "Oh, yeah. Your TV arrived broken. It'll be another 3 weeks." Just like that! No "very sorry to inform you"...no offer to make things right with me, just a flat, intolerable statement. No one should have to wait 9 weeks for a TV to be delivered. Where is the customer service? When the problem arrived, I should have gotten a phone call from the company with an apology and some offer to make things better...hundred bucks off, gift certificate, whatever. But, I had to ring them to find out why there was a delay, never got an apology, and I had to ask them for some type of compensation. What is going on? I'm really disgusted. I cancelled the order, needless to say. Maybe it's the facelessness of the internet that promotes poor customer service? Just a theory..."

"I want to report that Projector Export is a scammer. After one week of waiting, they said my TV was shipped. After one month they said they were out of stock and they would not get any. They offered me discontinued merchandise of lesser quality for more money. All this occurred the exact same day that the item was on their home page for the same price. They are using this TV to bait and switch customers. These guys should be banned.

"I ordered Sony TV for $2000+. The instruction was to have shipping address updated with the credit card company, which has been done. When I called to check the status, now they say we will send to billing address instead of shipping address. The sales/customer service was horrible and playing games. The company has no conscience and appears to be a company with no integrity. "

"First, I have never in my life experienced such horrific Customer Service. sorry, customer service (they don't deserve capital letters). Throughout the course of ordering an item and then immediately canceling, not one person I called was helpful or even offered the slightest hint of gratitude...um, customer service morons! break it down, CUSTOMER (me) SERVICE (you). There's a business here, people.

Anyhow, they lied about charging my card upon cancellation, so of course being the untrusting piece of garbage this company is, I follow up with the bank the very next day. Well, guess what? The bank told me the charge was on hold until ProjetcorExpo tells them it's canceled...which of course they never did. I called ProjetcorExpo and told them to get on this asap cause Im not waiting 15 business day for this to refund my account. Although they agreed, the customer service once again failed to convince me that they would do their job.

So... I called the bank today which is exactly 5 business days AFTER the cancellation was made. Guess what folks? not refunded. As a matter of fact, the bank said that the "sales draft" was placed on September 2nd. Yeah, the sales draft (which is placed with the bank to release it from hold to confirm the purchase) was made AFTER I clearly canceled the item. I even have the confirmation email proving this!

So, I AGAIN called ProjectorExpo. Spoke to their god awful customer service, who kept saying "I don't see a charge." And then when I tried to pinpoint the confusion and explain the sales draft, the guy hung up on me. HUNG UP ON ME. Wow. I know. But this is no fable, my friends.

So, the end result is filing a claim against these incompetent morons and having the bank take the reigns. For those of you reading this rant, please know that I only express my review to prevent others from making the same mistake I did. I'm simply giving YOU the Customer Service these people can never offer. And for those of you who ignore this post, I hope to god your experience is better than mine. Although I cant see how that is possible.

Oh, also (one more quick blurb)... upon ordering my item, the internet said it was be delivered within 2-3 business days. I received an email TWO days later telling me to contact them. This is where it all began. I was told A) the product wasn't complete and I had to purchase the necessary accessories which it typically comes with in stores, thus NOT making it the incredible deal they make their items out to be (false advertisement ladies and gentlemen). And B) my product wouldnt be confirmed and mailed out until at least a week PLUS an additional week for delivery. 2-3 business days me A$$.

I hope this message was insightful. If I had five thumbs on each hand, I think you know which directions they'd be facing. Thanks again for reading my post. Best of luck on-line shoppers!

Your Friend,

C

"Very rude and terrible! I order online and get an email to call them to confirm my order. They told me the TV was out of stockstock and try to sell me a different TV. They refused to cancel my order and charge me on a different TV that I didn't want. Had to call credit card company and file a dispute. Terrible experience!!! Beware."

"Ordered a package deal from ProjectorExp approx. April 10, 2008. To date (July 25th)I have not received the Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player. Trying to get through to them is like being on a merry-go-round but you never get off of being on hold. Even when you speak to someone, they can't help you and they put you on hold again. Basically, I am out $599.99. Please be smarter than I am"

"Do not buy from this Vendor! It's interesting to see that on all the rating sites, the projectorexpo gets either a perfect score or the lowest score...very interesting. I ordered a 46" LCD TV 37 days ago and haven't received it yet. I paid $200 for expedited shipping. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and Im canceling the credit card transaction. They are thiefs! Do not buy from here! Also, they have 2 different websites... www.projectorexpo.com and www.projectorexport.com and both sites have dfferent contact information...very shady."

"Horrible, horrible. I ordered a Sony flat screen for my company and instructed Brian to ship to my home address, not my billing, which he said he would do. Our billing address is on the other coast. The shipment of course is sent to the billing address, and three weeks later after not receiving it I had the less than pleasurable expereince of talking with "Jean" who clearly had no intention on helping me from the get go and was too quick to cite company policies without taking ownership of the problem. She stated it was the company policy to ship to the billing address. While I believe her she would not concede that Brian told me he would ship to my home address when company policy forbade it in the first place as he didn't want to lose the sale. She refused to credit back even the shipping fee. I told her she was not acting in a Christian manner, to which she replied she's not Christian. Then I said what was so hard about doing the right thing and being a good person. Apparently in this part of the world secular ideology and anonymity blend nicely with lack of accountability. I will pray for her that she will stop cheating people. "

""BUYER BEWARE! BUYER BEWARE! Ordered TV online. Projector Expo contacted me saying item is last years model and out of stock. Offered 2008 model for $300 more less $150 for my trouble. My new item number had PK at the end for "Pro Kit." PE web site shows Pro Kit and regular models. Item descriptions are identical but price is about $300 difference. Two different phone reps. told me first Pro Kit means it comes with an HD upconverter then other rep. told that is comes with an HDMI cable. When pressed the rep. said the non-ProKit model is "grey market Internet Merchandise" without a stand or warranty. The description on the web site did not mention this. The TV arrived within the committed window in good shape but without either an up-converter of HDMI cable. Could have bought the same TV locally for $100 less including tax and not waited on shipping. I was DUPED, DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU!""

"DO NOT BUY HERE. THESE GUYS ARE CHEATERS.

This is one of the worst experiences I ever had buying something online. I found Sony 52" Flat screen TV (KDL-52XBR5) on projectorexpo.com for a good price ($2899) on saturday (05/31/2008) and ordered it. I read the reviews on resellerratings.com before buying and was happy as it gave this store 8.5 (out of 10).

Anyway, after I ordered it online, I got an email from them that I needed to call their 1800 number to "confirm" the order. Since their store was closed on saturday, I called them yesterday (Sunday - 06/01/2008). I was put on hold for 20 minutes before someone finally talked to me. Now this guy was terribly rude. He forced me to take Insurance on Shipping. He said that their store is not responsible even if a "TV with broken screen" is delievered to me. He then forced me to take additional warranty. And when I declined to take both, he was pretty unhappy. He then said that he can not sell this TV at that price and insisted that I should take an other model of Sony flat screen TV (KDL-W3100). I told him that I was not interested in buying any other TV and that I wanted the TV I found online at the price mentioned on the website. He then suddenly said that they do not have this TV in stock and that I need to cancel my order or wait for 6-8 weeks. I was so fed up that I did not want to do business with these imposters. Hence I cancelled my order. What a nightmare !

"BUYER BEWARE! This company is a complete fraud. I purchased an LCD TV 5 months ago from Projector Export and never received it. My credit card was charged a few days after the order. I spent about 6 weeks (17 phone calls to their HORRIBLE customer service dept to be exact)trying to figure out where my TV was and get a tracking number. I was lied to again and again and again. I was even promised a replacement TV at one point. I never got the TV so after 2 months I called my credit card and disputed the charge. It was taken off my card, thankfully. But now Projector Expo is trying to put the charge back on saying I got the TV. Complete FRAUD! What kind of company can't provide tracking or control their shipments?!? I'm still having to deal with this company 5 months later.
Don't be fooled by the low price! It's a scam and they will not help you out if you have a problem!!

"It's a fraud internet shop. Rude attitude and no "cancel" order botton on internet page. Each time I tried to call the rep, almost need to wait 15min and my phone was hanged up 5 times by no reason.(even just said my order #...). I have told all my friend never to try this. I also would like to advise any other people, don't be attracted by their very cheap price, it's a trap only. "

"This is a scam company. They have many e-businesses operating out of the same address, all of which are running the same scams. The "assurance" logos on their websites are bogus, if you check them out you find that they are not listed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. The only feedbacks you will read that are real are the ones from genuine customers who have experienced problems. The feedbacks that give glowing reports are FALSE."
