"I ordered a Performance 600C treadmill off of their website. It took nearly 2 weeks before I told the package was available. They were supposed to deliver it to my house, but the shipping service complained they couldn't get to my house and I was therefore forced to drive with a truck and trailer pick up and deliver the treadmill to my home.

Upon opening the box, 90% of the plastic components of the treadmill were completely destroyed and demolished. I contacted their customer service that day, which was Saturday. A man answered and told me that I'd have to call back on Monday and there was nothing they could do. He was rude and condescending in our conversation.

I then called on Monday after waiting on the phone for the better part of an hour. After talking to their customer service, they told me that if I could tell them which parts were destroyed, they would send new parts. I told them the parts. I asked them how difficult it would be to install these parts. They assured me quite easily and I would only need a screw driver. They proceeded to tell me that they had all of the parts except the top hood and that they would ship them now and when the missing part arrived they would also ship that.

After more than another week I got the parts. They lied in the difficulty of installing the parts. One part I had to install was the belly pan. To do so, I had to remove the top part of the treadmill from the lower frame with wrenches. I also had to unwire the circuit board within and pull wires and power cords through belly pan. I had to undo routed wires. It was a difficult fix. I'm pretty handy though, so despite that, I got it fixed. It did take two people though to fix it as I needed someone to hold it straight up so I could attach the pan.

The bigger question is why did I have to fix it at all? I'm not trained to rebuild treadmills. They should have offered a new machine or sent a professional repairman to come fix it. But that's just not how they do business.

Flash forward, it's been more than a month and a week and I still don't have the last part and it is still showing out of stock on their website. Keep in mind that even after I get the last part, I still have to assemble the rest of the treadmill, which includes mounting the arms and main control panel. I can't accomplish this until I get that last part. So I've yet to even test to see if it works correctly.

I wouldn't recommend anyone ever purchase a product from this company. Customer satisfaction is not at all on their agenda. If you have to purchase proform junk, do it from a local store, or from a reputable company like Amazon.com. If you purchase directly from proform, you'd be better off simply burning your money.

"Worst worst worst product ans service I have dealt with in decades! Do NOT buy from them. ProForm bike has tons of problems. Tech took 3 weeks to get to me. Ordered parts. Took three weeks to get package. Package was missing half the parts! Spent 1 hour on phone trying to sort out problem. Friendly but useless support people. Bike was a gift to me otherwise I would have returned it a long time ago. Concept is great, execution and quality is awful. Save yourself and buy something else."

"Recently I ordered ProForm 290CSR from Icon Fitness. I ordered it via Live Chat. They assured me the recumbent bike was in stock, plus when I pulled up the item number it also said in stock. But it was delivered 2 weeks later and I got a totally different model number, NOT one I ordered or wanted. I have been trying to get my money back ever since it was delivered. I am in touch with the Utah Better Business Bureau and am still having problems. Icon Fitness expects me to paid the return postage even though they are the ones who screwed up. I will not pay it. Do Not Ever order from Icon Fitness.com. You will not be sent what you ordered and then you will have nothing but problems with their non-existent customer service. By phone, you are always put on hold and they just wait for you to get tired and hang up. They will not come back to the phone to help you with your problems. Do Not Trust This Website!!!"

"The resistance bands on my tower were defective and I noticed just after the warranty was out that one was almost torn through. It took several hours to get a person on the line. Then they told me they wouldn't replace it. I asked to talk to the supervisor. They made me wait an hour and the line hung up on me. I tried again the next day and they made me wait to get permission from the supervisor so they could fill out a form for the supervisor to call me back. Talk about giving customers the run around. In the end, they still would not replace the part even though it was obviously defective. They are a horrible company to deal with and have no real "customer service"."

"I bought a ProForm (aka Pro-Form) 850 with "GameFit" from www.proform.com. It was defective on arrival. It took 24 hours to get someone on the phone (even having used the online service request while also calling). The customer service representative had a nice demeanor. However, the policy is to decide what the problem might be over the phone (since we have no idea why it doesn’t work) and send me parts to try to repair it myself. I asked if the parts would come with instructions to replace and I was told: “they might”. (One part that is--probably--broken is within a pre-assembled section that is not put together by the buyer.) Then I was told they would “waive” the shipping fees for my parts, just this once. That’s right—they charge you for “warranty” work you have to do yourself. Call the customer service number on their website and see--it tells you so when waiting for an operator. Kind of makes the idea of an extended warranty pretty questionable, and I am glad I didn’t throw that money away too. I am now waiting for parts, so I can’t say anything about the machine. It was nice in the local store where I first tried it out. Should have just bought it there. I suggest you do too. You’ll still have to deal with Pro-Form if you need that “warranty”, but you could at least spare yourself the ordeal I had. Instead of a cardio work out I am now just spending my time trying to fix the machine myself. "
