"While every person I spoke to at Primo was extremely nice, curtious, and helpful, there were some problems. Rodney Walker was very helpful in getting my order right. I ordered a kit with my camera and the kit said "full size" tripod. I did not get it. Also my SD card was defective, and a software disk was defective. Rodney had a full size tripod and new card shipped right out. I got it about week later.
The new card works also.
When I called to ask a question about my camera before purchasing it, Victor convinced me to by an additional battery, higher capacity. And that I would get a second free. He did not mention that the original battery that came with the camera would not be there, but I would only get two batteries. Both the higher capacity. So I paid $89 for one extra battery. Seems a little tricky to me.
Another reason I ordered the kit besides the full size tripod, was to get a "deluxe" camera bag. I expected to get one that would hold the camera and a couple of lens and some pockets for little stuff. All the bag has is one compartment, enough for camera and "maybe" one lens, if it's not too big. I would not call it deluxe, but basic. But when looking on their accessories page, that bag is indeed called "deluxe". .
I also was not pleased with the way they made me wait several days before getting a tracking number. It's like they "sat" on it for a couple of weeks before shipping, hoping I would go ahead and buy shipping.
Like I said, I am impressed with how very nice everyone is at Primo. I think the individuals are doing a good job. But as to the company policies & procedures, I think they need some improvement.

"I purchased a Canon Vixia HF S10 camcorder from Primo Cameras on Tues Oct. 13. Victor was my salesperson. I needed the camera by Friday at the latest, and paid for 2-day air shipping to ensure this.
Like many, I had read the reviews for Primo Cameras and saw, of course they are mixed, some very positive, some very negative with warnings of a "bait & switch" approach. I was wary but proceeded with caution. I can tell you I had a positive experience, but I did have to follow up with the shipping on my order.
I never recieved the shipping confirmation I was supposed to receive the day of my order, or even the next day. My message and email to Victor were unanswered. The next time I called I chose a different rep who put me in touch with a manager, Kevin. Kevin immediately said he would ship overnight at no cost to me, and lo and behold, I had camcorder by 3:00 on Friday. I'm actually thrilled because I really was expecting more trouble. As far as the bait & switch, the accessories are priced higher, but Victor was willing to match prices from Amazon, and he didn't really push them anyway, just offered. There is a $20 fee for processing, but apparently this is waived with the purchase of a warranty. This price was also dropped significantly from the advertised listing.
The $200 (or more) savings from this company definitely outweighs any irritation with customer service, and the manager took care of the situation as promised. Now I get to enjoy my new camcorder!

"Ordered what I thought was a new Nikon D-90. Box was previously opened, camera was dirty and missing accessories, the dc imput adaptor for instance. I am guessing not new. The catch is, a 10% restocking fee if I return it.

Also, items for the lenses I purchased did not match. Supposed to be 55mm filters, but 62mm filters in a 55mm box.

Other notes: They do have low prices but I now know why. The Sigma lenses I got had foreign warranty cards, camera was not new off the shelf and was missing items.

Their customer service is only open 6 hours a day, and 10 min wait when they are open. Placed my order on Sept. 30th, paid for 4 to 6 day shipping. They sent it a week later, Oct. 7th, but I did receive it on the 9th.

At same time I purchased a Sony HD camcorder, and everything went fine except for shipping time. Again, shipped a about a week after I order. But no problems with the murchandise. Camera had Sony factory seal on it.

I will give them some props if they handle my complaints about the missing items and wrong filters professionally when I call on Monday. I should not have to pay for a shipping error. We'll see and I'll let you know. As far as the camera being opened and dirty, live and learn.

"VERY HAPPY to do business with these people. Purchased a Nikon D300s from this store. Price was $160 below MSRP and average price. Item was delivered as promised and on time. I was apprehensive after reading some reviews, but ended up very satisfied. Bruce and Alex were very courteous and professional. Would do business with them again and highly recommend them to anyone. "CAUTION -- This company is slimy. The morning after I placed an order a hustler, I think "Victor", called allegedly because he did not have my zip code. I gave it to him and he then proceeded to try to sell all kinds of things to me. One thing was a high performance battery because--he said--the battery that comes with the camera only lasts 15 minutes. It was a Canon point and shoot with movie capability so the 15 minute thing was nonsense. One other thing was that they supposedly have free camera case, lense cleaner etc with all orders, but they charge $15 for shipping. That's nonsense. I declined everything. He then said there is a $20 "handling" fee for the order. When I asked what he was talking about he said it is a standard fee and its on their website. When I went onto the site to look at my order, sure enough, they increased the price by $20. I canceled the order through my credit card company--hopefully they'll leave me alone. BE CAREFUL with this company."

"Overall positive experience. Great price on the Canon T1i body and lenses were reasonable too. After a call from sales (James) I did purchase the maintenance agreement (generally I do not) but with a camera that will be carried around a lot (I did have an issue with a lens on a pocket type point and shoot a while back) so I thought I would give it a try. He offered a deal on that and upgraded the shipping - So overall I feel good about it. "

"KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING UP FRONT. My experience in the last two weeks with Primo Cameras identified two lessons learned for potential buyers. (1) Primo Cameras lists prices for import or grey market products (not USA-warranted products), but they don’t reveal this detail in their online product listings. (Note: New imported/grey market products are still fine products, but they come without manufacturer warranty.) (2) Audit your purchases carefully and without delay. In my case, I had already cancelled an initial Primo Cameras order after I learned that Primo Cameras intended to send me non-USA/non-warranted products. To recapture the sale, Primo Cameras offered to send me new USA products (a D700 and Nikon 24-70 lens) at the original price, so I agreed. However, Primo Cameras then sent me a USED Nikon 24-70 lens in place of the new one I paid for. This was revealed when I was informed by Nikon customer service that the lens Primo Cameras sent me had already been registered to another purchaser making it ineligible for the Nikon new product warranty. It also raised the possibility that the lens sent to me might be stolen. I immediately demanded a full refund from Primo Cameras, and returned the items; they took receipt two days ago. (At this writing, Primo Cameras has not yet reimbursed my credit card.)"

"2 years ago my camera and all my equipment was stolen. I finally decided on what I wanted to get to replace it. I was a bit nervous placing such a large order. But the service I received from Primo Camera was excellent. James Carter (the salesman who took my order) did a wonderful job! Seeing that I was nervous, he took his time and explained everything to me slowly and made sure I understood exactly what I was ordering and the corresponding prices. He presented the information in a factual and caring manor and helped me to save a considerable amount of money on my purchases. I give him 5 stars. Thanks James!

"I placed an order for a Canon EOS Rebel SLR camera from these jokers. The total on my account was $599 (including tax + shipping) which I payed online via credit card. 4 days later and still no order confirmation from them. I called their customer service and got a slimy sales rep. He looked up my order and told me that he was waiting for verification from my credit card company. I have used this same card for several purchases from different vendors so right there I knew that these guys were playing some games. This slimeball rep then offered me a "coupon" for a memory card or UV filters. I declined both offers. Once he hears this from me, he tells me that my total is now $630 because he had to add an "insurance handling" fee. I told him I wasn't born yesterday and to cancel my order completely. Some guy named Kevin then left me a voicemail couple of hours later asking me to contact him and that he would help me with my order. I did not bother to call him back and placed my order from a different vendor for a slightly higher price. However, there was none of the hidden costs BS and I got my order confirmation the same day, shipping confirmation the next day and received my order in 3 days total. Be very careful doing business with this bogus company. They also go by US1 Camera. Do not be fooled by the low prices that they advertise. They will find other ways to screw you out of your money. BUYER BEWARE!!"
