"Please do not order anything from these guys - I placed an order, got an e-mail confirmation and have received nothing else ... I have left numerous voicemails and e-mails - none have been returned. I always get nervous when contact phone numbers do not connect with a real person. Luckily my order was small but I hate rip-off merchants such as Precision Photo - nothing "precse" about this bunch of cowboys!"

"I had a similar experience as the recent reviewers. Ordered a few small parts on 8/13/2010, received confirmation email and that was where it ended. I called & emailed, then eventually filed a claim with PayPal and 3 weeks later received shipment notification. No explanation or apology for the poor service. "

"Trying to buy from Precision Photo/Boca Photo of Macomb Township, MI is a complete waste of time.

I placed an order two weeks ago for a couple of strap rings, and received an automated reply that my order was "pending." After a week or so, I noticed that I hadn't been charged, so I sent emails and called to see if my order was actually being processed.

My emails all go unanswered, and my phone calls just go to a voice mail, which are never returned.

I should have just given my order to my dog. He's more responsive than this online "merchant."

**Update 9/24/10**
I received an email saying that my order has been shipped. I don't know if it was in response to my negative review here, but I am glad that my order is on its way. I wouldn't have given such a harsh review if my emails or phone calls had been answered.

"I just want to jump on the pile here and forewarn anyone who's looking, to STAY AWAY from this merchant. It is so tempting to order from them because they have every little gizmo and widget that you could possibly want, but they are a huge waste of time, and potentially , thieves.
I've been active in the online photo community for 12 years now. Never ever had cause to say a negative word about any merchant, until now. Ordered from them on August 9. They acknowledged the order immediately, but that is the last I've heard from them. I have emailed 3 times, and called them 3 times, leaving a voice message each time. All I wanted was a status of my order. Even "sorry, we don't have it in stock" would have been sufficient. But they do NOTHING. No , they have not charged my credit card (yet). But it's very discomforting to know that they have my card information. I will never, ever, ever do business with these people. I hope that maybe this post helps to prevent someone from going through a similar hassle.

"Sure wish I would have seen the feedback about this "merchant" from this site before I ordered from this place--still have not received my items. "I ordered 4 Nikon 10 pin connector caps from this outfit. I immediately received the usual automated e-mail the notice of order receipt and the usual commitment that it would be processed as soon as possible. Three weeks later - nothing from the company. So, I e-mailed an orde status requset. No reply. I called and got the answering machine. Left a message asking for status. No reply. Today I sent an e-mail and left another voice mail cancelling my order and directing this clown that he is not authorized to charge my credit card.

This business is at a minimum morally fraudulent if not legally fraudulent. Stay away!!

An Update:

My order cancellation was sent on Saturday. On Monday morning I received the following e-mail:

I apologize for the inaction concerning your order. It will be cancelled as you requested. No charge has been made to your credit account, and in accordance with our security and privacy policy all sensitive information will be destroyed. Rest assured we have no fraudulent intentions; mere inaction does not constitute fraud, as nothing has been taken from you in this process. The delay with your order was caused by a backorder situation from Nikon on the part you ordered.

Thank you for your belated reply. It seems a bit psychotic to send a note of apology for a deliberate action on your part.

Posts on a web business rating site indicate that you commonly ignore your customers' attempts to contact you just as you did mine. Your apparent perception that stonewalling customers is acceptable is self serving and unprofessional.

You may not be guilty of legal fraud but by most any measure you are incorrect regarding being morally fraudulent. Something has, indeed, been taken from me. You have taken my time and energy. You have delayed my going elsewhere for the caps I need. You have caused me angst due to the uncertainty of your future actions with my credit card. In essence, you added a completely unnecessary aggravation to a person's life. This moral harm to your customer doesn't appear to bother you.

So, apology not accepted. You deliberately ignored my queries and every indication is that you would do it again if a similar situation arose.

"It is now June 3, 2010, and I'm still waiting for 2 very small parts for my Nikon D2x. One of the parts is a standard Nikon body cap, available just about anywhere, but I made the mistake of ordering it from this outfit. I've called and left messages, but no one has called me back. I've sent emails and have gotten no response. The parts I ordered, according to this company, are on backorder. Backorder? A lens cao? The other part is a small cover for the D2x remote socket. My local retailer has one. But since I've already paid Precision Photo for mine, I thought it best to wait ... and wait, and wait, and wait. Stay away from these guys. Purchasing from them was a foolish mistake on my part."

"Was a bit skeptical about ordering from Precision Photo after reading reviews but took a chance since I was only ordering some replacement parts. I really feel like this company came through on some hard to find parts (Nikon sync caps and accessory shoe covers.)

I received all ordered items within a week of ordering, order was accurate and items were just as promised at very reasonable prices. Shipping was very reasonable for USPS Priority. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

"Same as others have been saying. I had ordered a part for my Nikon flash and received two emails from them stating that the order was received and processed. After a month, I still have not received my part so I attempted to contact them to find out why via emails and phone calls but I am furious that none of my phone calls got through and no response to any of my email. "WARNING!!!
I've order a product from this shop more than a month ago, which according to them should arrive in the same week and it has not arrived yet. I'm trying for more than a week to contact the store (set allready a couple of mails) and have no answer. Not even an explanation for the delay, I mean I think I wont even recieve anything at all. Because no one is there to answer. No answer? I wonder if this is a real shop anyway? I have payed for a product and I recieved NOTHING! What kind of shop is this? "Submitted a purchase to these people at the end of April. Never received an email confirmation. In July I receive a notification that something was shipped. Of course they charged my card and shipped an item that I already got elsewhere.

I tried contacting these people via email with no result.

"I ordered three small Nikon items on Jan 13th, and received a confirmation email and an emailed receipt almost immediately. "I ordered 2 Nikon accessories on 9 oct 2008.
I still have not received any tracking or shipping confirmation from them, they did not even reply my email until today after I disputed the payment via Paypal. Fortunately, I made the payment with Paypal.
After I did that, finally they sent a reply stating that the orders has been shipped and en route to my address, they also said that they have sent the tracking number and receipt to my email address which I never receive.
I replied their msg and have not got a reply.
This is truly a bad company to deal with.
Hopefully the order will arrive.

Edit : I got the package, it was very late but I'm glad I finally got it. The store didn't even bother replying my email ever since I disputed the transaction via Paypal.

"I Ordered few small accessories from BocaPhoto on 16 March 2008 and paid it with paypal on the same day and until now (28 April 2008) i still haven't recieve the items, and also haven't got any response on my request to track the shipment.
I email this store couple times within 7 days, and still yet to receive any response.
I feel this store is not responsive enough and buying from this store gives me uneasy and unsafe feeling.
