"Update (10/08/14): After Precision Camera returned my camera unrepaired, stating the part is unavailable, I sent it to another store (rongyuanxie on eBay) that has the part - factory original & new. They repaired the camera in two business days for about 1/3 of what Precision Camera wanted to charge and have sent it back today. Still don't know the quality of the repair, but their price, speed and customer service are all far better than Precision.

Precision Camera received my camera on 6/2/14. They didn't get it logged in until 6/9 - the date they claim receipt on their status page - and several days after I contacted them about it.

A week or two later (late June) they contacted me and told me I needed to pay them more money. I pointed out they had given me a "quote" and nothing in the quote nor on their website provided for changing the price. In the end, I authorized raising the price about 50% above the quote.

About a month later, I contacted them, wondering why my camera was still listed as "in repair" and what happened to their promise of fast service. They reported the part was on back-order but did offer a discount for the delay, although the price was still well above the quote.

Two months later, after they didn't respond to several queries, I told them I was going to file a complaint in 10 days with the BBB if they didn't send my camera back. I also pointed out that I easily found the part brand new on the web at two vendors and it could be delivered in a few days. On the 10th day, they returned the camera unrepaired.

So, it took Precision Camera 4 months to tell me they couldn't repair my camera. They were late logging in receipt of the camera by a week and were late responding (or unresponsive) to requests for delay explanations, even though these were a month apart. They might be OK with routine repairs that almost anyone could do, but maybe not so good with others. And they are sloooooow.
