"I needed a new pump so I called and got great advice on what would replace my old pump. Good company! "
"I purchased a Pentair Challenger 2 hp pump from Polytec and when it arrived, it was packaged in a plain corrugated box (Not Pentair) and that box was inside another make-shift box. I should have been wary right from the start. Upon installation, the motor had a loud noise as it tried to start, however, it did start after a few seconds, but something didn't seem right. Ultimately, after 3 months the pump seized up and would trip the breaker. I called Polytec to discuss a return of the item, their answer was that they would not take it back and I needed to contact Pentair for a warranty claim. Pentair denied the claim even though the pump was only 90 days old. I wrote a letter to Polytec explaining the situation and frustration I experienced and was promptly contacted by Rick at Polytec and he assured me that the situation would be taken care of. In short, and without going into further detail, Rick arranged to have the pump returned to the warehouse and they would file the warranty claim with Pentair and my money was promptly refunded.
Refreshing to see that in the end, Polytec stood behind their products and appropriately represented their customers. The defective pump was not Polytec's problem, but they made it right! Pentair, on the other hand, needs to learn how to stand behind their products and re-define their customer service process."

"Ripoff company. Sold me a pool light. Did not include the mounting bracket but claims its an extra. Easy to search the Internet for companies the sell the light for about the same price mounting bracket included. Honestly found Sears has it for $20 less with the bracket."
