"I have tried many times to charge battery, but it not do so. I even tried to monitor connections to battery ,but my DVM leads are to large for the slot and I have no way to separately charge it. Also when I connect the camcorder to my laptop and turn it on the red light on the front come on, this does nit happen when I plug in the charger and turn it on. It does record very good video but only with the charger plugged in. Thanks.
