VERY DISAPPOINTING

"Wow. Just blown away at customer service. They are all very pleasant to talk to, but after the 6th time... I'm the one and isn't so pleasant

I placed an order for a wicker set, $400 shipping, but it was still cheaper then wayfair so I ordered.
I got a call saying my order is on hold because half of the set is out of stock. I called back and they had just back ordered it, not cancelled.

2nd call;
After being on the phone with them to try and adjust shipping (couldnt) they called the next day so say half of my order has been cancel because it just doesn't ship to Canada but the other stuff will go. I called back, after 40 mins and several long holds, they assured me it would ship.

I was on their website later that week and notices there was an identical green set for less then half the price, so I called to see if it was possible to exchange the sets, then i was told that half of the set can't be shipped (yet again) and so I just cancelled everything...


Fast forward 2 weeks, holy!!!
After over 10 emails, there has been 2 charges placed and only one refunded and so for TWO WEEKS, they keep telling me to wait for PayPal.
After checking my bank account several times and assuring them they have a pending charge, they continued to put it off. In a nutshell, don't do it!

Blown away by the lack of ability to assist a customer. Wow.

Horrible company

"I ordered a body pillow as a gift on May 21st. It was in stock. By June 10th it still hasn't arrived. I called and was told it would be delivered on June 20th. It didn't arrive, and there were never any updates on shipping. I called again and this time will as told it would be July 2nd. Ok,..now way too late for the birthday gift.
I called and they said that it would be end of day on July 2nd. It finally arrived ..and the box wasn't even sealed!
The pillow inside wasn't in the bag all the way.
I have gotten items from China in just a few days! This is one of the reasons why we buy from out of country!
I could've driven from Oregon , picked up the package and driven back with days to spare , in the time it took to get this order.
This is a horrible company, and probably owned by some other company and not the homespun image that they project. Shame on you Plow and Hearth....your name should be Plow and Worthless

No Order Status

"I am usually an Amazon purchaser but I tried Plow and Hearth for the first time recently. I will not be ordering from them again. After 3 days without hearing anything on my order, I contacted them and they said the product is no longer available. But they took my payment and never notified me. I had to call them. I do not recommend this online store. There are so many better places out there that are trustworthy and reliable."

If possible would give only 1/2 star customer service POOR

"Order 3 times first order fine loved it told everyone well that was way to PREMATURE of me. Order 2 and 3 they couldn’t get right. Even though curtains were still in catalogue in those colours. Went so far as to trim off piece of exsisting curtain to match, sent back with 3rd order. We’re not even willing to try to match or come close. No communication from them saying they would look into matching absolutely nothing from them.
In fact 2nd order returned I had to call them weeks after they received return and ask where my refund was.
Even though their colour error I had to pay $50 twice to return the merchandise they errored in.
Loved the product but customer service lost them a customer, I work in retail and service like that in Canada would lose you your job.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Solar spinner gift

"My wife received a Mothers day gift and I assembled it its a confetti Solar Spinner. Nice looking. But on of the two spinners did not turn freely. After I inspected the wheel I found the bearing was bad. No big deal so I called them they then sent another one and said, just toss the other one. So I reboxed that wheel. Now about a week later comes the replacement part or spinner, this I mounted on the pole and it seemed to work better but as I stood back and looked at it I noticed one of the tangs that support the lights is bent down so I checked it to find the rod is also cracked so that was not good that way for wind and so on. So I called again. No problem, they tell me to toss that one and they will send another one. I mentioned to them that the spinner must be secured in the box and the box marked fragile and they said no problem we will make sure. Ok another week passes. Then the UPS guy drives up and I get the box from him. The box does not appear damaged so I accept it. But the wheel is sliding around in the box and I think nothing of that but should have so out the wheel comes. Due to the many tangs that support the confetti discs its hard to see what is bent or not bent until you get it mounted and stand back and look at them side by side. Guess what! This one is bent worse than the last one. Now I am ticked. I called again and they said the same thing. I mentioned to them that this is going to fail if not secured inside the box. No one ever sent or offered a return lable so I let my daughter know what was on going and she wrote a review. Not to good of one either. They then contacted her. But she is the buyer not the receiver. $100.00 bucks of junk. Made in China. and that says alot right there. I am then asked to take a picture of the damaged wheels, I had one and sent that to the rep. Ok now we are getting some place I thought. My time, my effort, and for what? Now they don't believe the parts are damaged and that is hinted at in an e-mail to me. So I have to give them a two star and only because the response time was good but the end results still sit damaged. They offered me a new wheel assembly at one point and then dropped that offer with a comment to me if the product comes damaged we then will make good on this purchase. Like I said, Made in China, huge cost, no results and $$ spent for a bad unfinished product. Seems to me they need a whole different approach to who is working for them. Retrain the folks and don't call it an American name like Plow and Hearth call it China Hut stuff. Get with it folks in VA. you can do much better.

Hacked acct

"Horrible company, their supposed secure system was compromised. My credit card was used and abused. Plow and Hearth sent a letter informing me of the compromise and a form letter listing the credi agencies and how to get a free credit report. Also, to keep an eye out for fraudulent charges. I will never order anything from them again. They could have at least offered a coupon or a discount of some sort. Obviously, they do not take their customers privacy seriously. Shame on them. "

Shipping scam

"Was told free shipping then they pawn you off on another company that says refund 4 to 6 weeks and I didn't get it after 6 weeks was told to wait another 4 to 6 weeks and plow and hearth won't even respond back. I could of gotten it cheaper the only reason they were cheaper was free shipping "

"Ordered a product in December, credit card was charged. I received and email in January stating product was back-ordered, then another in Feb stating back-ordered until April. I don't understand why they would charge your credit card if the product hasn't shipped and won't be here for 4 months! Customer service is HORRIBLE! I would NEVER buy from them again!"

"Order Date 1/5/15, Item 39228NT, Order No. W0009584001, Very dissatisfied with purchase. One of lag screws needed a different size hex key (not included). One lag screw had metal piece in hole where hex key should go. I had to drill it out. Design of the chair is very poor. Instructions were not clear, particularly the fact that the parts were not identical and had to be put together in a specific order. Finally, there were two bolts that were too long to be inserted in the hole provided. This made assembly near impossible and resulted in both seat backs being damaged to finish assembly. I will not shop at P&H again, nor will I ever recommend them again."

"I ordered a pair of UGG boots before Christmas because I got a great deal on them. The item arrived damaged so they sent me another one which arrived almost two weeks later and was also defective. I had to call back again - this time I was told I could exchange them for a different style. After not receiving the third pair for over two weeks I called back to find they had never placed the exchange and wanted to charge me more because I was exchanging for a different style even though this was a less expensive style. After all their errors, waiting to receive a pair of boots for over a month, you would think they would have honored this exchange. I ended up canceling all together - they won't be getting any $$ from me. Horrible customer service. Buyer beware!"

"Buyer Beware - I ordered a wood cabinet ($800) from this store. Received it with no damage on the box, but a lot of damage upon opening. Everytime I talked with customer service I got a different scenario on returning it. Then they said I could not return it unless I boxed it back up (150 lbs). Than their carrier could not come. Than they told me to donate it. I called three donation centers and they will not pick up unless I have three items. They told me to load it in my car and take it to the donation center - will not fit. It ends up being my problem to return a damaged cabinet. Another cabinet for me was backordered. I cancelled that order and was treated like I was trying to get a free piece of furniture. Ended up getting a credit for $125 which will hopefully cover repairs. Very unfriendly and will NEVER do business with this company again."

"I have placed 3 orders with this company and all three have been awful. They don't tell you your items are on backorder. My last order, a Christmas present, was listed as "shipped." I received an email saying it was shipped. When I went to check the tracking info a week later, there was no number. I called and they said it was on backorder until the end of January. WTH!!!!!! They lie!!!!! One item I ordered was discontinued. I wasn't notified until after I received the other two items. They offered me a coupon for a week. I had to call to get the refund to paypal, and they didn't even compensate me for part of my shipping. Worst catalog company. I order 90% of my stuff online, and this is the only company I have such problems. It's not like their items are cheap either!!!! "

"Ordered 2 items in early December for Christmas gifts, first one was received within a few days. I had ordered the second gift wrapped so I wasn't concerned that it had shipped separately. I check the order status a week later and find that it says the order was shipped but there is no tracking number. Still hadn't received it as of today so I e-mail customer service only to find out that the item is out of stock and back ordered and I will not receive it until after Christmas. I'll never buy another thing from them.
Update 1/19- Still no product, just one line of bulls*** after another.
no to see how long it takes them to issue a refund.
