"This is about an order I placed through the Greek site. Pixmania says "always in stock." I ordered a 29 Euro MP3 player. They immediately deducted the final amount from my Visa card. I received an email 17 Aug, canceling my order because the item was out of stock and wouldn't be back in stock until 20 Aug. I wrote and said not to cancel it, just wait three days until it was in stock again. Today, the in-stock date, I received an email saying the order was canceled "due to security reasons." I had supplied the additional documentation, identity document plus local telephone bill with personal address.

Further, to get my money back I must write a letter to my bank, saying I will not try to personally reverse the charges. I must send them a copy of my bank statement before they will refund the money! I paid with a Visa card, and my bank has nothing to do with this!

Having read your reviews, I wonder if there is any chance of getting anything from them: the product or the refund?

Further, on the Greek site, there is no indication of the way to contact customer service, so I have recourse only to the company in England.

This is truly an antiquated way to do business and to service customers--worthy of Eastern Europe during the Cold War!

"Yet another of those companies that are (just about) ok until you have to return something.

I refused delivery of an order over a month ago (as subsequent to ordering I discovered it was available cheaper) and I'm still waiting for my refund.

The DHL tracking for my order clearly shows that I refused the delivery and indicates that it was returned to Pixmania 6 days later.

Despite this, Pixmania insisted in opening a DHL claim to discover the whereabouts of the package.

Shocking service, especially as they limit the number of webmail messages you can send to them and most replies are standard auto-responses, not taking in to account the finer points of the messages sent to them.

I order online several times a week and theirs is the worst service I've encountered for a couple of years.
Unless the item is unavailable elsewhere I would strongly recommend against ordering from Pixmania.

"I ordered an appliance on the pixmania.gr site as i lve in greece.the order went normally until 24 hours later They sent me an email demanding a copy of my passport and utility bills - no further explanation given.In the age of Identity theft I would be a fool to hand over such documents and shopped elsewhere.The pixmania customer service was useless -wish i had read the reviews here first! "

"Very impressed with pixmania.co.uk. I hadn't heard of them before, but they had very competitive prices which persuaded me to give them a go. I must say, I wasn't expecting much in the way of customer service from an online company, but I was pleasantly surprised. The order tracking feature is fantastic and made me feel much better about the status of my order, as I could actually see the stages my product was going through; from being paid for, to being packaged, to being delivered. Accept a range of payments, which is always handy! Would definitely recommend to anyone."

"The worst company I have so far dealt with online. I ordered a TV on 01 Jan - being told delivery was in 5 days. They took the money on day one - but no TV was delivered. Their website continued to tell me delivery was in 5 days and Customer support continued to assure me there was a temporary difficulty with supply.
Finally after 62 days they admitted they could not supply the TV. Yes I got my money back - but without any interest, or effort on their part to suggest a suitable alternative.
What really annoyed me was their "Customer Support"; not only was each reply automated, making no reference to the questions asked, each reply said "1000s of products always in stock" on th

"Pixmania are reasonably cheap. That is where my postive remarks start and finish.

I ordered 4 items from them. I recieved 2. Originally they sent me the wrong order. Then they told me the items were out of stock. I cancelled the order. They gave me a pixpiggy account despite my explicit instructions to reimburst my credit card. Six weeks on and the 'issue' is still with their accounts department.

Avoid at all costs.

"Bought A Pentax Optio A10 from Pixmania in September 2006. It was delerved after a week. All was fine until the 4th July 2007 when it bstopped working- ironically in Paris about 200 meters from Pixmania offices.
I filled in the request for after sales repair and sent off the camera on the 10th July with all the documents etc. Two days later I get it back. Joy I thought, what quick service, until I found that they had sent my parcel back to me unopened!!.
Pixmania said that they did not understand how this had happened but fixed me up with a new set of return papers which I used to send back to them with proof of posting on the 16th July. They acknowledged receipt of the parcel on the 18th in a good state and said it had been sent to the manufacturer for reapir. When I phoned after 3 weeks they said that it could take a total of 5 weeks but I would have it back by middle August. An email enquiry on progress gained the response that now they had chaged the date of receipt to 27th July although I had evidence that they had got it a week earlier. They also said that Pentax have 40 days to repair and send the camera back. Today it is 41 days ( by their claim) since Pentax has had the camera and still no news. They just lie and move the goal posts to suit themselves. I wonder what the next excuse that they come up with??

"Couldn't agree more to these comments. Selling and charging is all Pixmania are interested in. If the slightest thing goes wrong they try to frustrate you with their ingorance until you stop complaining. I'm going to avoid all ventures owned by DSG International: Pixmania, Fotovista, Dixons, Curry's, PcWorld, Partmaster, The Link, etc.

Accounting for all nuissances along the purchase and complaint process this was by far the worst retail experience I've ever had.

My main complaint is that I paid an express delivery charge for my order because the sales rep promised that if the delivery hadn't arrived by Friday (the day I went on vacation), I would get a refund. Of course the delivery didn't arrive in time and I didn’t' get a refund either.

Pixmania position is that the rep shouldn't have promised a delivery by Friday. All they can do is apologize for the rep's behaviour. Basically, they admit that I have been defrauded (promising a service, charging for it and then not delivering the service), but wont' do anything about it.

"Pixmania seems a great company, prices are good, delivery is fast. BUT. There is a big BUT. In October I ordered a Creative Leitor MP3 Zen. And when it arrived, it was not like it was advertised on the site. Ok, no problem. I sent it back and Pixmania accepted to refund me on November 16th, 2006. Fantastic!
No... 2 months later, I am still waiting for my refund. Waiting and waiting even though I emailed them several times asking them for my refund.

I have ordered a lot of stuff at Pixmania, but never will order again, knowing that refund is not "really" available. Please be careful when buying from Pixmania...

"This outfit are very quick to take your money, though when it comes to delivering, they are reluctant in the extreme.
Having ordered an LCD TV from them, it arrived after a week, though joy did not last long as it simply did not work and was scratched.
According to their T&C, they have 15 days for a so-called technical assesment.
My argument that this is not a repair since the product arrived with faults simply cut not ice.
The 15 days magically turned in to working days when the date was missed. It actually turned in to a over a month before I got fed up and demanded a refund.
After a week of delaying tactics and repeated complaints, they agreed to make a refund. A week futher after this, I suddenly get an email, telling me that the accept a factory fault on the aparatus and a new one will be send soon.
Contacting them, they refused any knowledge of a refund, despite me having it in writing, and refunded again. I receive a confirming email for refund of the full amount (the amount was actually mentioned in a clear figure in the mail). A few days later, I receive a further email saying that the refund will be made withing 4-30 (!) days, and the amount is suddenly less shipping.

During all this, they have been a mob of arrogance of the worst kind. Any contact to their helpdesk has, at best, been met with indifference, but mostly arrogance and brushings off.

Needless to say that I strongly advise anyone from ever doing business with them!
You might be lucky and receive your things, though heaven forfend something should be amiss or that you should later need a repair, as then you are truly and utterly ****** !!

"I choiche the product viewing the image, but, after I ordered and payed, I discovered that the image is not what I ordered! I wrote a lot of time to this people to cancel my order, and I respose that is impossible because the invoice is arlready made.
But, why, if nobody have already shipped, the are not cancelled my order ?
Today that people have sent to me a corfirm of shipping after a lot of mail to cancle that order! Now, what can I do ? damn company!-----

Solo dopo ordinato e pagato ho scoperto che la foto non corrispondeva assolutamente a quanto pagato! ho cercato di annullare l'ordine ma non c'è stato verso, hanno avuto anche la faccia tosta di dire che quello che fa testo è la descrizione tecnica, non la foto, e che, cmnq, non potevavo annullare l'ordine in quanto era gia stata emessa la fattura.
Questa è piura fregatura!. nonostante tutti i miei tentativi oggi ( 30 dicembre) mi hanno mandfato la conferma di spedizione ignorando palesemente tutto quello che avevo scritto. Ora mi tocca aspettare il pacco e rifiutarlo.Vi sembra questo corretto?

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

The savings just is not worth the trouble.

Two days after ordering, you will receive an email asking for some identification to confirm your address.

You WILL NOT get through to them if you try and phone them on the so called customer care number.

You will not get your items within 2-3 days as promised!

It just so happened that a friend ordered at the same time as me, and had the same awful experience.

My item has been shipped 2 days ago ( supposedly), but the tracking number is still not registered on the Courier Service website.

These people are in France, and not in the UK, and you will get French Manuals, power plugs etc.

PLEASE AVOID THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

"I got a Logitech Trackball from Pixmania. All was smooth until I noticed a factory fault in one button. I returned it and asked for a refund. 11 days later I get a confirmation for a refund. 7 days later I was still waiting! They said there was a difficulty (they didn't explain!?) but money would be refunded that same week (that was Monday). Friday I called again, and only then did they order the refund!? 11+7+5=24 days for a "refund order"! No actual refund! That's a month waiting for your money!"

"Do not buy from this online shop if you want good, speedy service.

Although a .co.uk website, products are sent from France. SLOWLY.

I ordered a Canon Ixus 50 on 4th Jan with 3-4 day delivery to make it in time before a trip to Canada. Took over 2 weeks to arrive and just in the nick of time.

However on opening box, the camera was faulty and had to be returned. To France.

I returned it next day and waited. For 2 MONTHS before Pixmania acknowledged receipt. This could have been due to French customs I admit, but considering I ordered from a .co.uk website, a little unfair on my either way!

It's now been 3 weeks since they received it and I've still not had any confirmation about a refund or replacement.

Going to contact my credit card company tonight and get them to take some action.

Pixmania can deal with Morgan Stanley now for all I care.

Shop elsewhere.

"Product, a chistmas gift, was ordered in November 2005.

It is now Feb 9th 2006. Product still not delivered. The product was in stock when ordered.

Pixmania's phone system is deadful to use and has about a 4% chnace of speaking to a human and a 1% chnace of taling to a human who cares. They will not give out phone numbers or emails to allow continied dialolgue and persist in refusing to call the customer.

It has taken 75 days to get an apology and even that was done from a faceless email address that would take a respone. I buy about 75% of presents from on-line sources for the last 5 years. This is the first time I have been let down so badly. I would strongly avoid Pixmania buy a long long long long way.
