POL? POS!

"For starters, they got lucky that I had to put any stars at all, it should've been zero.

A year ago I ordered my A-Arms from them for a bagged truck. I had to call them to check on my order because they took weeks to arrive. So excited to FINALLY receive them! I was missing pieces. Sent them back...had to pay Shipping and a restock fee. I paid $400 for THEIR MISTAKE.
**I decided to go with Porterbuilt. If you are considering using PFab, DO IT! Products, customer service all on point! Well worth the money. Complete opposit of POL. **

A year later my dumb ***, decides to give POL another shot. Because of the price. NO MORE SHORTCUTS.

I order a Cab bushing mount KIT. And 2 extra bushings. Again, 3 weeks go by. No email, no packages. Called and after being on hold then holding some more, dude answers. Told him I wanted to check on my order. "Ok let me place you on a brief hold." He came back and read the order off to me...well half of it anyway. So basically even if I had ever gotten my package it wouldn't have been the right thing and I would've been out another $400.
He says "let me place you on hold again"
Comes back and tells me, "our cabinet for packages shipping out is empty, but a paper with your part number is taped to the shelf. Let me call you back in 10-15 mins and I'll let you know what I find out." Over an hour later, I called back and cancelled my order.
Hopefully Porterbuilt has the kit I need.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR FOLKS.

I am a member of a statewide car club, I also have a huge group of car/truck builders(both on social media and personal). We all talk. I will definitely be warning them about using POL.

I would literally rather order parts from Dollar General.

Wrong brake/Master Cylinder kit sent

"It's been going on three years and I had to pay for a new one they finally sent me the Right Master Cylinder and it doesn't seem to work either.
Bleeding the brakes for at least 15 times and still have brake fade.
I need another one now, and don't know how to identify it, to go elsewhere ?

Horrible customer service

"Horrible customer service! Lack of communication is unbelievable. If you ever don't receive an item do not expect your money back, a replacement, or even a phone call or email back. Had to select at least one star but they don't even deserve that. It is sad when you call to ask for a manager and their receptionist asks who I have to been talking to so she could get me to someone else. To give me batter chance of getting a phone call back."

Terrible Fitment!!

"I bought a 2” drop spindle kit for my 73 Formula Firebird from their eBay store, kit #CBKD7078 - Complete 2" Drop Spindle Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit.
So many things wrong with this kit that’s not disclosed or unknown by them. First off they sent the wrong rotors, I ordered the drilled and slotted ones, got the plain Jane. Then the fire wall seal for the booster didn’t even come close to fitting, way to long. Was told to cut it down to fit. Unfortunately cutting it down didn’t work, will most likely end up leaking if I leave it like they suggested.
Proportioning valve bracket is wrong as well. I will need to provide my own extension to reach existing rear brake line.
Booster push rod clevis that comes in the kit is nowhere close to right. They sent a second that will not fit either. Even after I sent a Pontiac assembly pic of what’s needed. Also sent a pic of the old booster push rod and brake peddle assembly. The whole time Rick kept telling me this kit was specifically designed for my car, insinuating that I was the idiot or there was something wrong with my formula. Push rod and clevis is still not resolved, probably have to make my own since it’s sooo complicated....
Stock rotor cover will not fit new spindles either. This is not disclosed in kit discription. Had to leave them off for now after they already been restored. Bummer part of the whole thing is I won’t get to drive it for another 8-10 months so I won’t know the full extent of this crappy fitment and possibly crappy function.
Lastly they ask to contact before leaving a bad review, left several messages through eBay, never once got a reply. I had to call direct. Talk to 2-3 people before talking with rick. Everytime I called and was told that I would get a call back with some answers the next day. 2-3 days would go by with no call. Would have to call back and explain all over again to someone else. Ridiculous to say the least.. I spoke with Rick the last half dozen time with basically the same results. Lack of truly understanding or caring about the costumers issues.
You really do need to look at the design of the booster seal and pushrod clevis or disclose that mods will need to be made.
I will have to say the parts look really nice, unfortunately I’m looking for function and form not just form. I really hate leaving bad reviews but you left no choice in my eyes.

Customer Service Needs Work

"Update: After posting our review we were contacted by JC the general manager. He asked for all my documentation and sent us a check the same day. I appreciate his speedy help in rectifying the situation, but am still perplexed as to why this took 2 months to do. I am hopeful that the company will learn from this situation and make changes that will keep businesses from having to jump through so many hoops to get faulty parts refunded. We will give them another shot.

We have used this company for our Resale parts in the past and have had no problem. However, this last experience has shown us that this company does not have integrity and does not stand behind their products or their word. On July 6th we ordered a power steering gear box from them. When we received the part one of our mechanics installed it and it immediately blew power steering fluid out, all over everything. We called Performance Online Customer Service and advised them that the part had faulty seals and requested a call tag to send back the product. Rich in customer service said we would need to send the part back at our own expense so they could see that the product was in fact defective, and that then they would issue a refund for the part AND the shipping. We shipped the part back on 7/20/18 and got confirmation that it was received on 7/26/18 by Jordan. We started calling the next week to inquire about our refunds. I had to make at least 10 phone calls to try and get someone to handle this refund. I finally was put in touch with their manager Rick Evans whom assured me he had this handled and that we would receive the refund for the part and the shipping fees which were $47.00. After several phone calls with Rick I began emailing him on August 20th almost a month AFTER they had received the part back. We still had not received any money back. On August 21st after contacting Rick again He emailed me that our refunds were scheduled to be processed on August 24th. They did process the refund for the part on this day but neglected to process the shipping fees refund. Once again, I contacted Rick who assured me they would be refunded but that they needed time to “figure out” how to refund the money. I was told that the accounting department was contacting the owner to figure out how to facilitate the refund. On September 11th after several more emails, Rick sent an email apologizing and saying he thought it had been taken care of (even though I had sent several emails to the contrary which were ignored). It is now September 24th , 2 months after they received the part back and I still have not received our shipping fees we paid to send back a defective part. This has cost us much more than the shipping cost. We had time in cleaning up the mess the defective seal caused, we had to replace the power steering fluid, we had to pay our mechanic to do the job twice and have spent way too much time trying to collect a refund from a company on a defective part they sold. We know a defective part can happen and don’t fault the company for that, but the horrible customer service that we have received is on them. We purchase a lot of resale parts for our shop and will no longer purchase any parts from them. I caution anyone else from doing so unless you want to spend countless hours trying to recover your refund. This company does not stand behind their product or their word without an exhaustive amount of follow-up.

Performanceonline IS B.S.

"Performance online and there employee JC Genty is a joke! They will not address issues i have had with calipers, hoses and brake pressure switch that i had ordered and paid for. they did send 1 replacement caliper that was not the same as what i originally purchased then, due to time to ship other parts and not knowing if they would be wrong again i had to purchase replacement parts from a local vender to solve my issues and now AFTER REPEATED CALLS AND EMAILS JC GENTY will not respond by phone or email. everyone there makes up excuses to why he cannot answer. the only time i did talk to him on the phone i had to use FAKE NAME TO GET HIM TO TAKE MY CALL!!!Will never buy from this company again and i would suggest that anyone who reads this review BEWARE THERE PRODUCTS ARE GARBAGE!!! AND THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEM."

NO PERFORMANCE on quality or customer service

"I ordered a Power Steering Conversion Kit and a disc brake conversion kit for aa 1973 Chevy Nova.
When the parts arrived, our mechanic, Tom, very experienced, installed all the parts.
No problem with the power steering conversion kit.
When Tom test drove the car, the brakes were not right. Tom inspected the brakes and noticed the calipers did not align with the rotor. He worked with it to see if he could resolve the problem, but could not make the calipers line up with the rotors.
Tom called Performance Online and they were, as has been stated in every complaint and review I’ve now seen, rude, and condescending. They kept telling Tom he didn’t know what he was doing. Tom has over 20 years experience. He worked for me for years, before I retired and sold him my business. I’ve seen him replace or rebuild engines in diesel trucks, and do every kind of repair on cars and trucks. He works on the cars of my children, my Sister, and our cars.
Anyway, after days of arguing, JC got involved and agreed to send a replacement kit. Said not to bother to send the 1st parts back. JC stated he assembled the kit, on the bench, and aligned everything. When the kit got here, you could see where some parts were bent to try to align the calipers and rotors.
When Tom installed the kit, same problem. Tom took pictures to show the misalignment and sent those to Performance. We determined the Caliper mounting bracket was not manufactured properly and therefore made the pieces misalign.
After arguing again, Tom told them we just wanted to send the parts back and move on. They finally issued an RGA #156594 and the parts were sent back.
JC called and stated the parts had been used, and therefore couldn’t be sold again, and therefore he couldn’t refund my monies. I explained that we had to put the parts on and try them to find out they wouldn’t work. He then said the parts were damaged, but they were bent when we received them, so I don’t know if that’s what he’s referring to or not.
I do know this, if you buy a defective carburetor, you can’t find out it’s defective without installing it and trying to use it. If you buy a defective alternator, starter, etc., the same thing applies.
We were sold parts that were not manufactured correctly. I am out thousands of dollars because of what I paid for the parts, plus all the extra labor involved in dealing with the badly manufactured pieces.

"I tried to order a Steering box for my car through performance online. I had to call back in 2 days to actually get them to place the order. After 2 weeks of hassling with them I finally received my part. It was nothing like the Tech person I spoke with said it was. It was touted as a stock replacement but it was not even close. I called back to try to return it and they kept on telling me they would check on it and call me back but never would so I would call back again and same thing would happen. I was finally told that I would need to pay a 20% restocking charge because they felt like I didn't want to purchase the other upgrades and make the mods to install the box so therefore it was my fault not theirs. These people are a bunch of jerks and I will never deal with them again. Ever!!!!!"
