"I sent a high end dressage saddle to Pelham Saddlery on consignment. It was in brand new condition (never even girthed up) and worked with Pelham to set the selling price. After approximately six months and no sale, I contacted Pelham to have them return my saddle and provided a credit card number to cover the shipping charges. A few days later I received a box measuring 8 inches by 8 inches by, if I remember correctly, 24 inches. (The 8 by 8 inches measurements are accurate.) Imagine my surprise when I found my $4000 dressage saddle ROLLED UP and STUFFED into this box!!! I shipped my saddle in an oversize saddle box stuffed with packing material to keep it safe. No matter. Pelham Saddlery saw fit to simply ROLL my saddle to fit in an oversize tube box. The stitching was pulled on the panels but, fortunately, did not snap (a testament to the quality of the saddle). I promptly called Pelham Saddlery and they were nonchalant about the packing. They did not offer to pay for a professional to inspect the saddle for damage (and repair, if necessary). I believe the tree is still in good shape based upon my examination, but I really should take it in somewhere (unfortunately, I do not live close to a saddler). NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH PELHAM SADDLERY."
