"I ordered a new Sound Card, AMD Athalon 3000+, 3 Gigs of RAM, Asus 64 bit MB, ATI Radeon 9550 PCI Express (at his suggestion), and an external 80 GB HD. I only received half of the order, when I called about it he said that it was odd that I hadn't received the entire thing. He finally sent the rest of my purchase, when it had arrived, the motherboard didn't support PCI Express (he was the person that suggested that I get this Asus mother board and the PCI Express Video Card). I sent the card back to him asking him to send me an AGP of the same card, he said sure. 3 weeks later, I called him to confirm that he had received the PCI Express card and was sending me the AGP, he said he had never received it. I got online and checked the confirmation code, and he had 2 weeks ago. 5 months later I am still trying to get the card, and am about to dispute it for the second time. He has been promising me a comfirmation code for the shipment for about 2 weeks now; however, every time that I call him he gives me some kind of runabout about why he doesn't have it and can't get it at the moment.

"On or about May 12th 2006, I requested the purchase of computer business components from internet vendor Overclock Central.com. During the order process I advised the Sales Person of the components I was wishing to purchase. He responded those components were not available and quickly recommended and convinced/mislead me that that his recommended components would be better suited for the graphic design business work I was doing. As I recall and later discovered, Overclock Central recommended an outdated and of limited quality ATI video card and a Antec power supply beset with malfunctions according to numerous reviews on the internet. Nevertheless, the power supply arrived well beyond the time promised. Additionally, the video card was not included in this package. When contacted again concerning the excessive delay, Overclock Central could not provide tracking information so they instead shipped me another video card. Both video cards arrived in separate shipping packages 4 and 5 additional days later. Neither video card, Model/Manufacture was what I discussed, ordered or approved for purchase. Apparently, they did not stock the components as originally requested and or attempted to provide a substitute from other sources.

Soon after this time, the Antec power supply was electronically tested with a National Electrical Code, industry approved, calibrated power supply tester. The Antec power supply failed testing and would not function during testing as performed and witnessed by a Computer Technician. He described the malfunction as DOA or Dead on Arrival.

Immediately after testing, I called Overclock Central and advised them of the shipping delays, product confusion, and the malfunctioned Antec power supply. I then advised them I was returning all products. After this, Overclock Central.com said they don’t understand it and then offered to exchange the components. I emphasized it was better to return the products and get a refund. The male sales person quarreled and then threatened to charge a restocking fee. I disagreed and indicated the Antec power supply was nonfunctioning and the other components were part of company’s bait and switch routine as the components were not as I ordered and was not suitable for business graphics as recommended by Overclock Central com. They said they would consider my information after the components are returned to there warehouse.

After the products were returned by Fed Express I made numerous email and phone attempts to contact Overclock Central regarding my refund. They did not respond. Soon after, I file a fraud compliant with Wells Fargo Banking.

Clearly, Overclock Central.com are utilizing deceptive sales practices or “Bait & switch” as stated in a Price Grabber customer complaint. In fact, there is abundant evidence or testimony of complaints including providing misleading product information, failure to ship products in a timely manner and less than professional business practices in not always providing the customer usable and correct products as ordered. Consider information available at other websites regarding doing business with Overclock Central.com. Avoid this company.

"Ordered a video card and never showed up. Called for refund, 2 months later and that never showed up. Don't let the pic on the website fool you, it appears to be a one-man-show probably doing business out of an apartment or basement or something. You always get the same one guy, Jonathon or something, and unless you are giving him a credit card number for an order, he is very rude.

When I called to cancel my order (because they didn't even have the card being advertised), he just said "ok, your charge will be reversed" and hung up on me. Didn't get the video card or refund, just out $100.

This place sucks and will never make it. They will probably be the next operation gracing Maximum PC's monthly "Watch Dog" article.

Learn from my experience and don't waste your time or money (you won't get either back dealing with this guy).

"Might be a bit too early to tell ... but I doubt it.

In any case, I put in an order for a video card on May 25th, realized it was for the wrong card, and called up to change the order a few minutes later. All well and good, and the phone conversation went well, with assurances of quick shipping. The original purchase was $125, the addition to change to a different card was supposed to be about $70. I was sent a tracking number.

Now, June 2nd ... the tracking number still doesn't work. I can't get ahold of anyone on the customer service line. And I was charged $125, $69, $69, and $67 (all charged at one time, May 26th) ... for one $182 item. And, of course, there's no customer support e-mail, just a phone number.

Something's just not right with this outfit - I don't know if it's a one-man show that's struggling to keep up and making mistakes, or a near-scam.

UPDATE: A few hours after I posted this, the package showed up, with everything intact and appropriate. Still haven't been able to get ahold of anyone about the over-charge, but I'll give them the benifit of the doubt that it was an honest - and potentially fixable - mistake.

"as i am a computer tech i constandly do sidejobs away from my company. my friend recommended me to this site. the website is built very well and it looks very orginal. i got my order 4 days after the order was placed. im in cali too. very happy with their response.

"I ordered a CPU fan and heat sink ("$14.00"), thermal paste("$6.00"), and 2nd day shipping ("$6.00") on 5/3.
by 5/5 i was concerned that it had not shipped, so i went to the customer service chat on their web page and chatted with Jonathan, the original salesperson, who assured me that it had been sent out on 5/4, and that UPS took 48 hours to update (which was and is complete bullpoo).
I went to their web page over the next week to check the status of the ups tracking numbers, which did not work. I chatted with Jonathan again sometime between 5/8 or 5/10. I was again assured that my order had been "sent out."

as of 5/11, my order had actually been sent out, GROUND. I finally received my order on 5/16 and unfortunately i only received a fan.

I would recommend this website to anyone who likes the runaround, or anyone who likes 2nd day shipping that takes 9 business days!

try www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com or www.amazon.com or anything that doesn't suck so badly!!!

"Simply horrible. I made a purchase of a CPU and PSU on April 4 over the phone. The sales representative told me that the PSU is actually out of stock, but they will restock it in within a week. So I went ahead and asked them to ship the CPU first and ship the PSU once they get it back in stock. Since I ordered over the phone, I had no proof of purchase so I told them to email me the order confirmation. I never received order confirmation, but the CPU arrived within a week or so. I waited 2 weeks for the PSU to come in stock and I did not hear any word from them, so I decided to give them a call. It turns out the PSU I ordered was not actually the one they described as it was, so I decided to cancel my order for PSU and I asked for a refund. I expected them to refund me the way I paid, which was through credit card so I gave them over 2 weeks knowing transactions can well take up some time. I never got the refund so I called them again. This time they tell me they weren't able to refund me to my card so they have to send me a check. When I received my check today; it was less than they charged me for the price of the PSU. The customer representatives are very poor and I ended up losing money. It simply was unpleasant and stressful experience. Never buy from this store."

"orderd item, was billed, then was given tracking number with shipping date. 3 weeks later item was NEVER shipped. was then told money was re-charged to account, which wasn't, then after another week, money was finally back into account. not the way to run company , and not happy with their run around answers. hope other people have better luck with them as for me , had MORE THAN ENOUGH1!!! "

"Had to take a chance on this site because they actually have the option to pick out your chip's revision/steppings. Since they weren't too far away, I chose the store pickup option to save on s&h and went there.
Bummer that they didn't have my item in stock, but had another chip with the steppings I liked and got that instead with a refund of difference.
It's an up and coming e-store that has accommodating and nice folks there that cares about the customers and gives competitive prices.
