"Outdoorbunker Outdoor bunker problems.
Made a 125.00 order at website. After several days did not receive my order. Called but to no avail.Calls were cutoff after 10 minutes after being told by an automated voice to e-mail. Three e-mails and no response as to my order status or shipping. Its been 15 days now. I would not order from this company at their website. E-bay or Amazon would be better because they have a complaint resolution process. However any company that has poor service like this is bad news.

"Amateur CROOKS. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Hey, "Andre" at ***-***-**** voicemail extension 222, why didn't you return my calls?

I ordered their LaserLyte LLL-RL-1 via an internet order June 6 2011.

Their response:

Hello George,
RE: Order #53196

Hello,

Thank you for your purchase. Due to an error in our inventory system we were unable to ship your order. We expect to be able to fulfill this order within 7 to 10 business days.

If you wish to make a change to this order, have any questions concerning your order, or if there is anything else we can do to make this right, please email us at ****@****

Sincerely,

Customer Service
www.outdoorbunker.com

This buys them 4 weeks since I'm in no hurry, my armory is well stocked.

Week 4 I e-mail their "sales" reps inquiring about the status of my order. I receive no reply.

I try to reach a human by calling the only phone numbers I can find, ***-***-****, and am directed by Eric to an elusive and mysterious gentleman, "Andre", at ***-***-**** ext. 222.

I leave two messages. A week goes by. No reply.

Week 6 I call my credit card company and recount my miserable, unresponsive dealings with Outdoorbunker.com. They reverse the charges, I get my $100+ odd dollars back, end story.

"THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS! NEVER got item. I called after several days of not being shipped. They replied that item was out of stock for 7 to 10 days. I emailed them back immediately and told them to cancel order. Just 3 hours later I received a bogus tracking number. How could they send something that 3 hours earlier they stated they wouldn't have for 10 days! CROOKS! Interestingly, today (nov30th) one day after posting this review, they sent me an email stating they refunded me for th item. Why would they refund an item they supposedly sent? Idiots, liars and thieves!"

"While this stumbled-upon retailer was offering a much needed item for the lowest price around, it took some initial checking before making the buy.

Outdoor Bunker exists as a single, brick-and-mortar store, an online website, and ebay seller; a trend of most small-scale businesses these days. Although there were sales being made much earlier (online), both the site and "official" ebay entity really only came into existence in 2007.

Their website alone is not something that would inspire confidence had it been the only source of purchasing the item at a great price. Not only is it clunky in design (unwieldy in basic organization), possessing of rudimentary--even some non-functioning--features, and bare minimum item details (typical of half of the suppliers in the market, but sans customer reviews), there's no free shipping except over $100 purchases. (If a listed price is comparably "low", the shipping rates negate the "discount", along with tax if you're in the state.) Fortunately, they seem to focus more on ebay sales when it comes to competitive pricing--something that would be problematic to implement on their low-maintenance site.

The nice thing about ebay (as usual) is seeing a company's relative track record; Outdoor Bunker has decent feedback (99.8%)--given that most complaints are about them *not* having items in stock at the time of the purchase/auction win. (An intermittent, albeit commonplace, occurrence for these smaller merchants.) It was after an extensive search, i.e., checking most major/fringe vendors and then auctions, that their ebay listing finally turned up with the price seen on their website, but with free shipping.

It was too good to pass up.

In the aftermath of the order, a single purchase/delivery confirmation was emailed the next day with a tracking number. Two days later, the package was received, and the item was as described; the entire transaction was simple and flawless.

The lesson to be drawn from this? Always do research. (Updates to this post will happen if there's a website order.)

Highly recommended!
