"I needed a different place to purchase Copic Markers and I was very pleased to have chosen this business! Free shipping for markers? Yes please! I ordered three Ciao markers and I received them about a week later. Carefully packaged, correct style AND color of markers and a receipt detailing my purchase. What I liked about OtakuFuel is they place a label on the outside of your wrapped markers and you can return them if you ordered the wrong color by mistake, as long as you don't BREAK or OPEN the wrapping.
You can see clearly when you open your package which markers you received. It's really nice :) It also guarantees they're new.

"I requested a cancellation because of a false address and after e-mailing me back they wouldn't change the address, which is not what I asked, they shipped it anyway. Do not shop here ever. Poorest customer service ever."

"Unbelievably unprofessional. Horrible customer service. Pre-ordered an item 30 days before it's release date. The release date came and went TWICE. Almost 5 months later, the item was confirmed released in North America so I inquired where mine was and no response, for a MONTH. I even tried emailing them every day for a week. Finally, out of fear of being completely ripped off,I contacted the Better Business Bureau. That got their attention and I was refunded, but not before they proceeded to bash me on twitter to MY friends. Needless to say, they only made the situation worse for themselves and lost a lot of potential customers. Absolutely the WORST business I've ever dealt with, period."

"I see Otakufuel received a lot of bad reviews. However, I had a fine time with them. I ordered scrolls, keychains, and Gantz and Nabari from them. Everything came in perfect condition and when I had emailed to inquire, they were very nice to me. I suppose it depends but I am using them again. "

All of these reviews were written by the same person. That should let you know how crooked Otakufuel really is. They're purposefully fabricating positive reviews to hide the fact that they are a bunch of liars and con artists. Do not let them fool you, they will rip you off if you give them the chance.

Their customer service is insulting and rude, and will continually berate you if you ever contact them in regards to a discrepancy with your order. After I received my order, it not only arrived in terrible condition, but it also turned out to be a bootleg. When I contacted them, they called me a noob and told me they were banning me from their website. After showing my bank the email they sent me, they immediately did a charge-back and I got my money back thankfully!

Moral of the story? Do not order anything from these crooks!

"I placed an order 4 months ago for two Figmas - one was in stock and one was a preorder...OtakuFuel wouldn't ship until both figures were availabe. (Which was a huge disappoint to my daughter, who was supposed to receive the in stock item for her birthday back in March). Periodically, I would ask for a shipping update (maybe once a month or so...) - OtakuFuel NEVER contacted me first. They always responded, but it would take several days for my email inquiries to be answered. Each reply was sarcastic...they were seemingly annoyed with my questions. I finally commented on the condescending tone of their communication, and I was treated to an almost IMMEDIATE irate response, telling me that I had hurt their feelings...that I obviously didn't understand what was going on in their mind...and that it was unfair to judge them...that they were never sarcastic and were only doing their best to supply the information I had requested...

Okay...is the company run by an angsty teenager??

I have no problem with the length of the pre-order, however I do have a problem with their lack of communication or status updates, especially on an order that was FOUR months old. And I have a very large problem with the tone of their customer service replies - when they eventually got around to repling.

I will never do business with OtakuFuel again, but I've probably been banned by this point anyway, for all of my "drama."

"I've been a loyal customer ever since OtakuFuel first started taking orders, and I haven't once been disappointed. As a former Navy servicemember, I've often been deployed to various places overseas, such as Japan or Afghanistan, and every order I've made with them had arrived promptly (or at least as promptly as the military postal system would allow). Not only that, but everything I've ordered had been carefully arranged and packed to ensure that nothing would be damaged in transit.

Their customer service is also top notch. Any time I've had an issue with placing orders due to my overseas locations and various APO/FPO addresses, they would always go out of their way to help me complete my orders, making sure that every order with them went smoothly. Such dedication to their customers is what has made me a loyal customer of theirs for many years now and for many years to come.

"I've ordered multiple times of OtakuFuel.com. Each time my item was shipped to me promptly and arrived very fast. As a figure collector there are many times when a certain figure sells out quickly and becomes impossible to get. OtakuFuel has never failed me in being able to track down the hard to find goods I so desperately search for. I cannot recommend them enough! These people are salt of the earth and work really hard! I will continue ordering from them and hope you will not listen to the other idiots who never gave them a chance! They also carry some of the coolest hard to find Japan Exclusive items at a very reasonable price! No Bootlegs either! 5/5!"

"I've been a customer with OtakuFuel since the very beginning, about five or so years now, and I can say unequivocally that they are some of the best people out there to order anime products from. I've not been without the occasional order issues, but everything has always been resolved to my satisfaction. Probably half of the anime figures I own have come to me through them, and I've purchased occasional other things as well.

The other reviewers here are basing their entire opinion of this merchant on a handful of bad experiences and not on a realistic assessment of the merchant as a whole. As a long time frequent customer, I have nothing but praise for them.

"I pre-ordered a figure from them over half a year in advance. At the time I thought they were going to ship my item while I was still at a particular residence, so I used that address on my order. Then, they were late on shipping out that order, so I had to contact them repeatedly (took 5 tries) before they claimed they had manually adjusted my address to my new one. Their customer service is ONLY one email address. No phone (they have an outgoing phone number only...how shady is that?), no other way of contacting them. Why their site doesn't have a self-service option (like practically every other site has) to let ME change my address/shipping info myself is beyond me.

The kicker is that after all that headache, they STILL shipped it to the old, WRONG address when they finally sent it out, almost a month late.

Poor communication, evasive customer support, and shoddy site design... I'm never shopping at this place again. Fortunately there are plenty of other anime sites out there with exactly the same products.

"This is the absolute worst place to purchase anything from. The site itself and the people that work on it are nothing but trash, lowlife scammers. Avoid this site at all costs. I ordered two "brand new" mangas off of this site once awhile ago, and ended up having nothing but problems from the time I hit the "order" button.

Part 1:

The two mangas I had ordered were listed as in-stock on their site, but low-and-behold, it turns out they were out-of-stock.
Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until I contacted customer service myself and asked where my order was when a week had passed and they still hadn't shipped anything out or updated my order at all or anything after charging my credit card. Now here's the thing, it states on the Otakufuel website that...

"Our inventory is constantly flowing in and out of our facility from our various distributors and manufacturers. The inventory on the site that is orderable should be in stock - if it is not, a restock and/or backorder shouldn't be longer than 2 weeks. We try our best to keep our inventory supply as up to date as possible, however every once in a while we get back-to-back orders in for the same product before we can mark it unorderable when it has sold out and/or has a long restocking period. If you should fall into this small category we will contact you ASAP with your options."

They replied two days later ONLY AFTER I HAD CONTACTED THEM FIRST A WEEK LATER AFTER ORDERING and told me they were out-of-stock of the items and said that it could take a week to a month to ship them out. About two weeks after placing my order, it finally ended up shipping.

Part 2:

When my package finally arrived two weeks after I had placed my order, I opened it, and was treated to a not-a-very-nice surprise. The two mangas I had ordered off of their site were both listed as brand new, but when I opened the package, one of the mangas was written on in a permanent black marker right on the pages, and the other one had a sticker on it that was impossible to get off without damaging the manga. They were both in laughably poor condition. Now the interesting thing is that on their website, Otakufuel states that...

"We do not ship damaged goods, everything is inspected by hand first."

This, again, coming straight from Otakufuels website, which is obviously complete bull due to the condition that they shipped my mangas in. The goods were not hand-inspected and they were shipped damaged for full price of what I paid.

Part 3:

So after receiving the damaged goods, I immediately contacted customer service again to ask if they had any replacement copies that they could exchange in place of these. A few days later, they replied back and told me they were out-of-stock of the two mangas I ordered (even though their website was still listing both of them as in-stock). I then demanded a complete and total refund of both the products and the shipping, at which point I finally ended up getting an immediate response back in less than two hours (as opposed to the 2-3 days I would usually have to wait for a response). In response to my request for a refund, I got an an email where they started to personally insult me, told me I was lucky to get anything at all and then told me that they're denying me a refund and will ban me from their website if I ask again.

These people are not to be trusted, and are crooks. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE. Don't give them the satisfaction of ripping you off, and just shop somewhere else.
