" Warning to potential buyers: I bought a "SEGA Genesis Game Cleaning Kit with 4.5mm security bit SEGAR 54" on February 2nd and it has still not come in, despite my status being listed as shipped since early last month. I live in Indiana so I'm not THAT far away from NC as far as shipping speed.

After multiple attempts at trying to contact Nintendo Repair Shop (calling and leaving voicemails, sending multiple emails, messaging through Facebook), I haven't heard anything back. I noticed today that they changed my status from "shipped" to "backorder". What?! This whole time it said it shipped, they fail to contact me regarding the status of my order, and now they said it's backordered?!

This is a shame. 2 years ago I bought something from them and it came quickly. Now their customer service is sorely lacking, and they don't even bother to ship their items half the time according to reviews on Reseller Ratings.

If you do decide to give Nintendo Repair Shop your business, keep in mind it's a roll of the dice. They have great merchandise at good pricing, but there's a chance they'll keep your money AND whatever you paid for. I've left another voicemail today requesting a refund, and if I don't hear back before the end of the week, I am issuing a charge-back.

"After having problems with a game, i called in nintendo repair and they agreed to fix the problem for free. So at first everything was running great, that was where the first problem arose though. it took them several tries and multiple phone calls before the UPS label ever sent to me. From there i sent it i, and it took them about a week and a half to get everything done, except even though it kept saying i check the repair status online the status kept saying see notes for details, but no notes were attached, anywhere! i had no idea what they had done, if everything was good. finally the game arrives back, only problem is its just the case and a paper saying the repair had been made, they forgot to send back the game! i called them and they wouldn't give me a refund. my only solace was another copy of the game, a game which would again have the same incompatibility with my Wii u because that was the only reason they agreed to repair it. what happened to the repaired game? why can this vast company not give me a return when they messed up? Do not use the repair shop, just return your game to the store from the beginning and save the trouble."

"I ordered parts for my Nintendo NES system and after 3 weeks I wrote inquiring when they would be delivered. I never received a response. After another week and 3 more messages I received a response saying they were out of stock. I asked for my money back and they said they would accommodate me. To make a long story short, after a month, I finally got my money back only after threatening chargeback. This company has the worst Customer service I have ever come across. Buyer beware!"

"Did a fantastic job, My Nintendo DS had both screens cracked and was unplayable, I ordered the Nintendo repair service for DS lites and they had it back to me in a week, superb turnaround time, I was expecting more like three! And the work quality was impeccable, I looked over the machine once it was returned and I couldn't even tell anyone had been in it. And now it works flawlessly. Highly recommended professional service."

"I first contacted the nintendo repair shop 2 months ago. I paid for the repair online and mailed my sons nintendo ds into The Nintendo Repair Shop 6104 Westgate Rd. #130, Raleigh NC 27617. They called one time to ask about the issues we were having with the ds. They never initated another call. They never returned the ds. We have called repeatedly to ask when we would have it returned. I called again today and now they want an additional $33 to finish repairing it. That is a total of $85 for a ds that I can buy new for $99 at Walmart. I asked for my money back so I could just get my son a new one and they offered to give me half my money, after my sons ds "Slipped through the cracks" for they last 2months. Give me a break. Just give me my money back!"

"Like most folks I was skeptical when I ordered the repair kit. But after talking with the knowledgeable staff, I quickly gained confidence that they knew what they were saying/doing. After installing the new 72 pin connector and using the MAGIC cleaning solution, my system plays all the games like it did when it was new in the 80's. I just laugh as I'm playing as it brings back fun times. Thanks again for the honest truth! This fixed all issues (blinking, black and white, and game crashing)!!! KUDOS to you guys!!! - Bob"

"Nintendo Repair Shop responds to every question you ask with lots of information and kindness. They also provide quality products at a very reasonable price.

The employees are very interested in your equipment and getting it functioning properly. As well as getting the most out of the products you purchase from them.

If you need vintage video game equipment, replacement parts or advice this is definitely the place for you. NRS is highly recommended.

Oh yeah, their shipping is very fast too. That's always a plus =)

"I Purchased an AC adapter for a SNES. It was defective out of the box. Merchant provided ZERO customer support (did not respond to voice messages left, could not get in contact with a person despite multiple calls, did not respond to e-mails). I finally gave up on the idea of the merchant doing the right thing and disputed the charge with my credit card company. "

"My 4 year old son was playing with his Nintendo DS and the hinge broke on his game. It still worked but it was not easy to hold the top screen and bottom screen while trying to play a game. I flew to action. I still could not find a DS under $120 and by the time I paid Nintendo for shipping and fixing the unit, it was going to cost about $90 (Although they add 1 year of warranty which would not have covered this type of damage anyhow). For about $60 with shipping, I was able to get this unit fixed here (Without the 1 year warranty). They were fast in returning a perfectly fixed unit. My son was happy and I was virtually unscathed at $60. Based on my order, I would certainly recommend these guys."

"Ordered the #1 NES Repair Kit and an NES/SNES RF switch on 11/6 (Friday). My order shipped the next day and I had the package in my hands that Monday.

I paid for most of the order with a trade-in of NES games. Due to some weird mishaps, I didn't receive the credit for two weeks, but when I complained about the turnaround time, customer service jumped on the ball and I got my credit that day.

Anyway, the repair kit worked great. Replacing the 72-pin connector is very straightforward and I quickly figured things out without even looking at a guide. Cleaning the games was equally simple.

The NES, which used to blink/freeze 99 times out of 100, now runs as good as it ever did. It still blinks or freezes sometimes, but at a minimal tolerable rate nowhere near its previous frequency.

The RF switch seems to be a little faulty because white lines occasionally appear on the TV (this doesn't happen if I switch to regular AV cables or other RF devices), but the item was cheap enough and the problem small enough that I won't complain.

I'm just happy the ol' NES is up and running again!
