"Terrible! The worst customer service I have ever encountered with an internet company! Item isn't in stock...no warning at all that it isn't going to be shipped! Then, call their 1-888 number and they say their phones are being upgraded...for the past 2 weeks! Their voice mail asks you to contact them by email...but they refuse to respond to messages! I've sent three messages without a single response in the past 3 weeks! Never use this company...they need to go out of business!!!!"

"You will never get a hold of sales staff, just an answering service that says the sales staff is busy, and they'll call back. They don't. They charged me for an item they didn't ship, or even have in stock. I got an email instead of a phone call as I had requested. The status of your ordering will read "processing" for days on end, with no hope of ever finding out what is going on, as you can't talk to an actual person. I can't believe anyone would run such a lousy business and stay afloat."

"I was in the market for a metal detector, so I did some searching for the one I wanted, I Joined a wonderful forum called metaldetectingforum.com, where I posted my terrible experience with a amazon vendor called the-metal-detector-store. I complained about this amazon company on the forum and my relationship started with New England Detectors. The Guy I deal with is BigBoar (AKA DALE). He was extremely helpful from the start. Answering all of my questions, about every little detail. His reply, "I love to help, its what I do..." I was GREAT! +1 I found my end all be all place for my new hobby. AWESOME... So after about 15 or so Private messages (PMs) on the forum, We found the detector and gear I would be getting. Which was; The Garrett Ace 250, a Lesche digger, Garrett Pro Pointer and a pouch. I can't disclose my price, however it was good enough for me to pull the trigger. +1. So there are four items that I ordered. Dale did disclose to me that he did not have the Pro Pointer in stock and would be shipped out immediately once they come in. I ordered my stuff on April 11, 2011, My Ace 250 came in one day, that was most impressive, so on the 12th, I had my Ace 250. Came from Connecticut to Long Island, one day is about right. However, the Pro Pointer, Lesche and pouch were not. It took till April 14th, to get my Lesche and pouch to get here, but my Pro Pointer was still not available.. Dale is a salesman for NED, Andrew (Is the owner of NED) called me directly and told me personally the status of my order, which I found to be a nice touch. He called me on Thursday to personally to tell me that. I really liked that. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside that he cared enough to call me about my order. +1 Told me that we would change the delivery location to your home, which we did over the phone... Confirmed it would be a Saturday Delivery. Saturday day came an went, no Pro Pointer? I've forgotten all about it, until Today Monday; April 18th, 2011. The only issue I had with Dale is that when a problem came up, he was not there to investigate. My Pro Pointer was MIA did not arrive on the date it should have arrived. That's the god honest truth. I had to get an e-mail from Andrew of the status of my package.

When you spend hundreds of dollars maybe thousands on gear, You are of course excited to go and use it. Having a delivery date is well, the date to play. When it does not come, you have to wonder what the heck happened to it... And then you start to doubt the company if they did what they were supposed to do.. Granted Dale is new at this sales thing. Not new to the hobby. He knows it well, that's what I get with the 15 or PM's... He's a good guy...

Things he needs to work on: Customer service, and Customer service. He's very smart, but abandons the sale if a problem arises ... Needs to follow through regardless good or bad...

The shipping from the start was great, it started to slow down and got later and later... I ordered on the 11th and got everything by the 18th. Took way too long from Connecticut. Granted the Pro Pointer was not in stock.

Food for thought:

If you plan on buying anything from New England Detectors be 100% sure everything is in stock before you place the order. Do not stagger shipments, just wait for everything to get in stock... Then place the order. This way it would be one shipped box...
