"I was close to signing up for a 2 person family plan on NET10. I noticed on their website that a $75 auto refill plan is available - which would fit my needs. The amazing thing is that their instructions on how to activate such a plan made no sense, $ wise. I used the "contact us" option to e-mail them with my question seeking clarification. I received a message from Trac Fone customer service asking me to call a customer service number for help. I called (finding out this CS operation supports Net 10 and Trac Fone. After a 30 minute conversation, I am baffled. Bottom line-- the website, indicating the NEW $75 plan, is incorrect according to the woman I spoke with. It really costs $85. So, for two people, it is better to get two $40 monthly plans, rather than one 2 line family plan. I tried to get agreement that it makes no sense to have a two person plan and pay more, however, that did not seem to compute with the CS person. Of course, if the site is wrong in offering the $75 plan, maybe the $40 plan really does not exist either. WOW!! I tried to speak with a supervisor, but was told that the supervisor was unable to speak with me since she was speaking with another customer. After this experience, I will no longer consider Net 10 or Trac Fone."

"The cost per minute is unbeatable but the getting more minutes to work is unbelievably hard. It requires multiple calls to service people who speak such poor English that this American cannot understand them. So I tried the easy minutes plan so it was automatic, but still they charged me for the minutes and I had to call each month and sit for half an hour on the phone entering stupid codes only to get partial results, and then my phone still displays the wrong service end date.....4 months in a row "

"Warning! Avoid NET10. Seems like a good deal, 10 cents a minute, but customer service is abysmal. Expect to waste an hour on the phone each month, first trying to add minutes online, and later when you have to call them because the online system can not handle the phone they sold you. Then when you upgrade to a new NET10 phone, expect to have no phone for 8 days because they will transfer service to your new phone, then tell you the new phone will be ready for use in 5 minutes. When it's not, they will tell you they need to re-register the SIM card, which will take 24 to 48 hours. When you call to check on things 24 hours into the process, they will tell you to wait another 24 hours. After 48 hours, you will be told that you need a new SIM card, which will take three to five days. OK. 24 hours later, you check, and the order for the SIM card has been canceled. Restart the process, then wait 5 more days to have a working phone. Meanwhile, they hold your phone number and minutes hostage."
