"I can't speak for guitars and stringed instruments, but the few times I ordered pro-audio gear online was a total waste of time. No matter what anyone at the store tells you, most of their technical gear is not tested beyond power up - you then have 48hours, yes two days, from delivery to test it yourself and ship it back if it's not in the described condition. As a reference, Guitar Center gives you 30 days no questions asked for returns on used gear. Not that they thoroughly test everything either, but 2 days for a return on an internet order for used gear is absurd! Additionally, I was recently told by an employee at an MGR Ohio location that $15 is the minimum shipping rate set by UPS - no matter what the item is. I work in retail and use UPS exclusively for all shipping - I call BS on that guys. In my experience they are aptly summed up as junk peddlers. YMMV."

If you order by phone they can give you an exact shipping quote before you pay and save a few more bucks from the default shipping cost listed on their web site.
