"I ordered a Yakima bike rack at a great price. I needed it for a trip in 3 weeks.
After I ordered I called them and said I needed it before my trip.
They looked it up and said that they could have it sent out immediately.
I received it in less then a week and it was perfect.
Great customer service and unbeatable price.

"I ordered a tent from them on February 26th. After checking my order status every day for 7 days, it still said the order was pending. I contacted them via chat and was told it was drop shipping from the manufacturer and I would get a tracking number "any day". I waited another 5 days, still with no movement on the order. I contacted them again and spoke to a different rep. He explained that because it was shipping to APO Europe, it was being shipped to them first then they would ship it to me. Later that night I had a tracking number. I finally received my tent on March 17th.

I'm not too upset with the order talking so long. But they should have kept better communication with me about it. If the website says that it will ship within 24 hours, then I expect an update when it exceeds that, especially by almost 2 weeks.

Ratings: Overall 3/5 - I got what I ordered, but it took a while.

Cost: 3/5- On par with other websites.

Repeat business: 3/5 - I don't have a reason not to use them again.

Customer service: 2/5 - The first guy I talked to was not helpful at all and no one from the company bothered to contact me about the delay. The second guy I talked to was very helpful. Otherwise I would rate 1/5.

"After I ordered a GOPRO 3+ Black Edition on BF, I called them to see if I can use my AMEX card instead of the VISA and they were very accommodating. Customer service rep named Collin was very helpful and responsive. A few days after I purchased I shared a link from another website for the same product that would have been about $25 or so cheaper and so they offered to give me a credit for $25 or another gopro accessory. I decided for another accessory. Only complaint I have is how long it took for the bonus accessories to arrive since it was shipped separately. I believe it was 2 weeks after I got the GOPRO 3+. Overall I am happy with my purchase. It came with free Shipping in CA, no tax and got 2 bonus accessories."

"Great customer service! They only had 1 of the 3 peloton racks I needed and immediately contacted me about it. After we adjusted the order to just the 1 peloton rack they got the item shipped to me late morning the next day! Additionally they waited to charge until after sorting out the issue with the peloton racks so I didn't have to wait for a refund on the 2 they didn't have. Overall amazing experience. The pricing were awesome and so was the service!

"I was excited to find some good deals on some outdoor gear for my toddler. I ordered about 10 days before our float trip, hoping that would be enough time. I got an email that one thing in my order was out of stock, I emailed back with a solution. I never heard back, and my order remained on hold for 2 weeks. I emailed three times total and got zero response. Finally called and cancelled after finding similar deals at REI.com. Prices seem great, but I am less than impressed with customer service."

"I ordered a GoPro Hero 2 and was promptly notified it was on backorder, so I called to make sure it would arrive before an event that I needed it for about a month away (my business depended on this equipment arriving on time). I was assured it would arrive with plenty of time to spare. Then the week it was supposed to arrive I get a notice that it is shipping out and think "Great!" but then find out that it was shipped for 7 day delivery and that it will not arrive until after my event. I contacted customer service and so far they have been unresponsive. I am very disappointed with this site, especially since I was assured that it would arrive on time, and they could have easily sent it 3day! Now I lose out on business because they are not true to their word."

"Smooth and Effecient!
I ordered a set of Vittoria tires and the Park Tool pump on a Thursday evening and received the goods on Monday. I was expecting it to arrive in 7 days and they essentailly delivered it in 2 days. I was very pleased with the process and delivery response and most definitely will shop at Mountains Plus again.

"I love these guys!!! I ordered the Patagonia Women's R2 Jacket as a Christmas present for my wife and I ordered her the wrong size. Luckily the stellar customer service at Mountains Plus went out of their way to quickly ship out another jacket for my wife that was the right size. I have made many orders from Mountains Plus and they have always been spot on. I appreciate being able to call them up and know that I will get someone that knows outdoor gear!!!

And by the way, my wife loves the jacket and wears it all the time.

"Mountains Plus has continued to surprise me with the deals, discounts and prices offered through their website. I haven’t been able to find a price range that compares to this store, not only through the basic prices but also through special deals that are continuously available. "STAY AWAY
I bought $600 worth of gear in September of 2011. The Nemo tent I purchased was set up in my back yard and determined to be too small for use at an upcoming adventure race. I could not return the item until I returned from Australia. Upon getting permission from A. at their customer service number to return it, I mailed it back to them. Z with the returns department advised they were not like an REI and that the item was dirty on the floor, and it was beyond their 60 day return policy, so he would have to send it back to me. I was unhappy then, but, OK, get it back to me and I could sell it. this is Dec 6, 2011. After one month I emailed the company back asking about the tent's location and tracking number for shipping. No response from Z at the rtn dept. one week later I called - voice mail. Still no info on the tent. Now Feb 1 I call again and am informed they can not help me....but the tent is still there and has not been shipped out to me yet. They promise to send out soon. Huh? Not only very different from REI, but absolutely ignoring any kind of service levels. I will not use their services again! VERY UNHAPPY!!!!

"Pre-ordered a GoPro Hero 2 from mpgear.com in early November.

The Good:
Came with a free spare battery ($20 value)
10% off coupon worked so I received an extra $30 off my order.
Free Shipping

The Bad:
Shipped out 3 weeks after the estimated delivery time on
product page.

All things considered, I would shop at Mountains Plus again if I got another sweet deal - I did save $50 on a product that's new on the market. Be ready to wait a while for presale items, though.

"MOUNTIAN PLUS sales product they DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK! And they give you dates that keep running. So it is like who knows!!!! If the price is to good to be true, it is from these guys.

And forget emailing them they never respond to them.

"I ordered a Gopro camera recently and to my dismay found out that it was being shipped to the wrong address. Don't know whose mistake it was but (it was probably mine since I was shipping it to another address) and I called customer service and they quickly resolved the issue with UPS and even emailed me that it was fixed and waived a $12 fee. I spoke with Doug in customer service and was really impressed with his professionalism and follow through. The camera by the way is estimated to arrive even earlier than promised. I'm completely satisfied and would recommend shopping at Mountain Plus "
