"I'm surprised by this company. In a good way and a bad. Let's start with the good. The company does make high quality computers and gives you great choices and deals. The bad way is of course their customer support. They were a more popular/well-rated company in the past because I guess they had the right amount of support. Now-a-days you have to wait on the phone for 30-45 minutes to get a status update on your PC. My computer came DOA after their "3 day test/burn-in" because the video card AND motherboard weren't functioning properly. That was after they took a month extra to build my computer and never told me why it was taking so much longer. They don't give you info unless you wait on hold. But they do get the job done. Not on time (unless it's rushed) but you look at the inside of the computer and how they built it and it looks marvelous. I'd suggest giving them a shot and if they give you a hard time, get your money back from your credit card company. "

"Monarch is one of the better online PC parts stores. I bought my 320 gig hard drive at less than $100 and am well satisfied. The service was great; the shipping very reasonable; the product is doing well. "Let me start with that I had placed previous orders with no issues. However, I placed an order for $2500 worth of motherboards and CPUs. They charged the credit card immediately. Well, it turns out the motherboards were recalled from the manufacturer. Obviously this is not Monarch's fault. They alerted me to the fact via email and I replied to cancel the order. The next day, I received a reply suggesting a substitution. I politely declined and again asked to cancel the order. After I hadn't received any communications for a couple days, I called to confirm the order was cancelled. I was told it wasn't marked for cancellation, but it would be now. 10 days later, I still haven't received a refund. After multiple emails, I am assured that the refund is being processed but will take up to 1 week to post to the credit card. After 10 days, I still hadn't received credit. Unfortunately, the credit card bill was due and I was forced to dispute the charges. This initially wasn't Monarch's fault, but their customer service wasted a lot of my time and caused me to get involved with my CC company. WIll never order again."

"A system order was placed on 10/06/06 and had to be cancelled within 2hrs. My VISA was charged for over $2000 and after repeated calls and ignored emails, I still have no refund as of 10/30/06. The only email acknowledged was my cancellation request.I will never do business with Monarch again, because of poor customer service."

"I placed an order on July 28, 2006 for a video card and some ram for a grand total of 551.57$. 3 weeks later after numerous emails, and monarch now listing the bought item as out of stock, I canceled the order. Dozens of emails and phone calls later(another 3 week time period), still nothing returned. 4 weeks in, Monarch stops replying to my emails and same BS by phone. Filed a dispute with visa and now awaiting repayment as visa is now investigating. Still no money 90+ days later after order was placed. Will never do business with Monarch computers again."

"Finally had to contact my credit card bank to get my money back on a refund that Monarch promised on an order they (Monarch) cancelled. Refund promised within 30 days. Now 60 days and no refund, no contact, despite my efforts. Monarch does not call, does not email or mail. Very bad ecommerce. Don't order from their clearance specials, they will be conveniently out of stock on the most popular items, but then keep your money or float with it for months. Was once a good company -- no very bad."

"It seems mine was one of the last comments left for these guys that was NOT extremely dissatisfied.
Well that has changed.
I suppose seeing as how they are long gone this is a pointless post, but the Mobo in my system has died after 2 months of very minimal use (I was moving ) and of course I have no recourse with Monarch

In fact coming here today due to there site being down, was almost a relief. I was dreading trying to deal with Monarch for RAM and service. Now at least I don't have to face that challenge. Of course this means I take on the financial responsibly, but at least I know where I stand

"Buyer beware!!!
Ordered a Core 2 Duo barebones on August 16. They charged my card the same day. They stated that they expected the system to ship in 5 to 8 days. After several weeks of watching thier tracking system I sent several emails to inquire about my order. None of the emails were responded too. I finally made several phone calls and each time received excuses and promises that the system would ship the next day. I finally received my system on October 3. One of the excuses given was that the DDR2-800 ram I ordered did not work on the motherboard. It was the fasest choices in the configuation list. To fix the problem they subsituted slower and cheaper DDR2-5400 ram. They still charged me for the more expensive ram I had ordered.
I am not a happy camper and will not buy from them again. It is clear that they are living on float. (Charging your card, using your money, and not delivering for as long as they can get away with.) It also appears that they and thier employees are adding positive feedback here in an effort to keep the company alive. Be careful, if they do file for BK while your order is pending, you could be out of luck.

"I ordered a motherboard and processor thru Monarch Computer Systems, inc., uunfortunately I fouled it up by ordering a slot 939 motherboard and a slot am processer which most companies would have shipped. Monarch questioned the disparity and held the order until they verified they were shipping what I really required. I wouldn't hesitate an instant to do business with them again."

"Per Monarch, they couldn't ship my order to address that wasn't confirmed by my CC co. so I replied to them to cancel my order. They replied that they marked my order for cancelation. I replied as to when my CC would be credited $316 that they charged for order they didn't ship. Numerous e-mails to them, not 1 reply back (nor credit). I had to turn them into my Bank's fraud protection to get my money back for items they never sent me. Still haven't heard from them."

"I bought a closeout board thinking it was cheap because it was old stock. Nowhere did it say it was a refurb. When i get the invoice upon shipment they tell me the product is whitebox with no accessories and refurb."

"I purchased a Monarch Hornet Pro 2 years ago.
The reason I decided on buying from Monarch is that they were able to answer some difficult techincal questions. The other three were not able to do this. Monarch allows you to do a full customization, (per their options, which are extensive). The others are limited. Basically if you want a customized machine (with parts that will work together, (this is where the tech supprot comes in), Monarch is worth looking into.
Lets cover all the bases. I had no problem with delivery. They allowed me to see 'online' the actual progress of the building of my machine. The machine's cabinet is made of aluminum, not plastic. It is designed to come apart easily.
Yes it rattled some, but I fixed that and now there is no rattle. (Going custom, get involved..:-))...Going mom and pop..while if that is what you want, go for it. Next I added 2G of ram to up it to 4G. This I purchased from Monarch, again using the technical support...yes I may be no expert, but they helped me out. Fast delivery, no headaches, good price..wickeded ram..don't have to figure how some other ram would work with what is in the original machine. Next one of the "background" leds on the temp display burned out. No biggey. (What others have this feature anyway??). I called Monarch and in 2 weeks had a replacement.(I do have the
extended warrenty). So..................... what do I use this machine for...Solid Modeling of Engineeing Designs. HUGE Files. Got an FX1100 in it.... This is a PROFESSIONAL machine for...da...work...and work it does, faster than any I met before...thank you. If you are into gaming, and want a CUSTOM machine...check out Monarch, but in all fairness do your shopping.
