"These guys are BAD NEWS. They offered a good price on a digital camera, then required that I call to "confirm" order. They tries to upsell me on low quality overpriced batteries and chip. Then they revealed that this is the "japanese" camera without a US warranty. If I want the US warranty, it would be more ..."

"Placed order for digital camera on 6/17/08 and site stated order shipped in 1 to 2 days and site listed item as "in stock". Got e-mail confirming order. Next day, got notice stating item out of stock. Called Millennium Camera and asked when the item would be back in stock, they said 4 weeks. I then asked, Why does the site say item is in stock, if item is backordered?, customer service rep hung up on me! Obviously, I won't purchase anything from this store and will warn anyone I can in the future. I will also notify Consumer Reports, who had a link to this merchant. Went back on the site today, 6/24/08, to check and the site STILL lists the item as IN STOCK!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!! But, customer rep tell me 4 weeks!!!!"

"I am sure the experience I have to share will not come as a surprise, as I believe that it represents this company’s standard operating procedures, rather than an isolated incident. I was shopping online for to products I had researched and wanted to purchase. I wanted to purchase both items from the same place if possible. As I searched online, I was attracted to this company by its excellent advertised pricing on the items I wished to purchase. Since the company was linked to reputable sites, I decided to place an order. Yesterday, when attempting to track my order, there was a message to call to confirm the order. What the message should have said was "call to be blindsided by a commissioned salesperson who wants to 'build the ticket'”. The phone connection kept dropping out during the conversation and by the end of the phone call, I had no idea what actually would be shipping to me. I do know my bill was now over $300.00 more than my original order was suppose to be. I am sure that person will be rewarded for doing such a fine job. After I hung up, I decided to do what I should have done before I decided to do business with Millennium. I checked them out on this ratings site. After doing so, I decided to cancel my order. Of course, I could not do so right then, because to cancel an order you have to wait until Customer Service (in this case “customer service” is grounds for false advertising) hours which are listed on their site as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. When I called the next day at 9:00 AM, I was told the department was not open until 10:00 AM. I called back after 10:00 AM, was placed on hold for 20 minutes until I talked briefly to someone who did not give his name. When I said I wanted to cancel my order I was sent to a voice mail box to leave a message with my sales representative. I am now waiting for a phone call I am sure will not come until after my “cancelled” order ships. They have created another dissatisfied customer. I take some comfort in seeing I am not alone.

"I had almost exactly the same experience as related in the earlier reviews. The seller turned up in a comparative price listing on cnet.com for a Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS system. The prices for this and other similar items were all lower than all other listed sellers. I soon found out why. (Oddly, when I returned to cnet only 2 days later, they were no longer listed!) After I placed the order, I received an email requiring a phone "confirmation," not something I'd ever experienced on any internet order. Then, even though the listing on their site included in the base price, among other things, a mount and case (standard for Garmin), they tried to sell me both at inflated prices. First, the guy claimed he was giving me a price of $59.95 for a "beanbag mount," which he said listed at $129. When I told him the mount was available at $39, he reduced the price to $49. When he then tried to sell a carrying case, at another $59, I asked what was included with the unit itself, and he claimed nothing was. Since their website had claimed that several things, including a case, were included, I balked. He then said "Your order is cancelled," and hung up. "

"I ordered a Canon SD650 IS camera because of the good price and review of Millenium that I saw on a web page that compared it and other sellers. I wish that I could find that web page again. Today, I received an email from millenium saying that I had to call them in order for them to proceed. This is highly unusual for internet orders. After trying to get through multiple times and waiting for 30 minutes, I had second thoughts about purchasing the camera from them. When Alan finally answered, I told him that they had convinced me that I wanted to cancel the order. After insulting me repeatedly for being upset with their response, he finally confirmed that the order was canceled. To their credit, I did receive a follow up email message saying that the order was canceled.

I have never had this kind of "service" before, and I hope to never have it again.

"My experience was similar to some of the other reviews that I read dealing with Millennium Camera where I placed an order for a Samsung LN32A450 LCD TV online. This is a new model and not a lot of retailers stocked them yet. I received an e-mail after placing the order online that said I had to call customer service for verification purposes. When I called they offered to include HDMI cables, power conditioners, wall mounts and extended warranty plans at what I thought where rather inflated prices. After refusing all of these extras, the sales person came up with the statement that I needed to buy a stand because the TV didn’t have one. After I bit on the stand, the salesperson offered for an extra $19, to throw in an LCD TV starter kit that was to include a power conditioner, an HDMI cable and a one year in home extended warranty. Including shipping, the price of the TV came to almost $200 over the price advertised on Millennium’s web page. I didn’t cancel the deal because this final price was about what other retailers where charging before shipping and/or taxes.

When the TV arrived (to their credit, though, it did arrive in about 3 or 4 days after my verification call), there was no power conditioner, HDMI cable or information on the in-home service plan, but the stand was there. So, I call customer service to inquire about why the extra items where missing and they said they had no record of a starter kit being included. As for the one year in-home service plan they said I just need keep my invoice and to call Samsung if the TV should need service (I sure hope I never have to find out if this is true or not) in the next year. They shipped me a free two meter HDMI cable (which I don’t need at this time) for my inconvenience. I am compelled to mention that their rep offered me an RMA number to return the unit if I wasn’t statisfied, but I could not see spending $50 shipping to just get out of this deal when I was still a little cheaper that other retailers that where selling this model.

This experience was definitely a life lesson and I will spend more time in the future checking up on online sellers before I spend my hard earned money. I am sorry I didn’t come to this site first

"Listen to the others when it comes to poor customer service. The worst I have ever had online shopping. The email sent states "verification purposes, please call our customer service department at 1-***-***-**** Extension 296, in order for us to proceed and process your order" Be ready for alot of headache. If you don't kiss up to the rep's, the'll disconnect you. Never again and think twice."

"Exact same situation as a previous review listed. Ordered a camera (at a GREAT price!).
The next business day, received an email that I need to call to verify the order.
Called in, got put on hold for 10 minutes.
Was informed about the 15 MINUTE (!!) battery life, and offered the upgrade battery.
Declined.
Was informed that the camera is grey market, in Japanese only.
The web site lists NOTHING about this.
At this point, the purchase reeks of scam, and I pop over to resellerratings (while still on the phone).
I say, "Well, you know, the site says nothing about this being a Japanese language model, and it's listed with the USA SKU"
Helpful rep offers: "Would you like to cancel your order then?"
I'm happy to.
Thanks, ResellerRatings!

"Saw a enticingly low price for a camcorder and ordered it without checking the ratings. I have had this kind of experience once before, but that was a different web site. Apparently, they are all the same or similar operations.
Confirmation email will never have order price.
AFter ordering and receiving no response, I checked online for ratings and found all the issues with this vendor. Anyway, I knew from past experience on how to deal with this kind of vendor. At worst, I can cancel the order I thought.
After two days, no followup on the order. The order tracking button on their website is just a phone number, and there is no way to cancel it online, even if it is not shipped. If you call customer service, no one picks up phone and there is no voice mail setup.
I finally sent email, and got a response saying that I need to call their sales number to "verify" the order. I knew how this story was going to end, with a cancellation.
So I called the number, no response first time, left message, no callback.
After few hours, I call again, this time someone picks up the phone and promptly puts me on hold for 10 minutes.
COmes back and says, your order looks good and is ready to ship out. He then asks me that I should buy an extra battery for $$ as the camera comes with a 15 minute (imagine that!) battery. I said no. He then wants to sell a package to me for $150 more, I say no. Then suddenly asks me if I really wanted the Japanese version because the price on website is for Japanese version with Japanese manuals,
I knew what was coming, so I told him that web site doesn't says Japanese version, and I want US version for the same price. He says, US version is $150 more expensive.
I stick to my terms and say that if he really wants to sell, he needs to send me "US" version for whatever price is on website.
He finally gives up, and says "you order is cancelled" and suddenly hangs up.

Moral of the store - even if you know how to deal with these crooks, it mostly turns out to be a waste of time.

"Millennium Camera sold me a Samsung LNT4065F 40" 1080p LCD HDTV. The on-line charge was $1302.99. In a phone call responding to an email from the company, I agreed to pay $1565.75. The extra money was for a "package" including a stand, remote control, in-home warranty, "white glove" delivery and shipping insurance. The TV came out of the box with a stand, remote control and in-home warranty. I believe I was lied to about having to pay extra for these items. I called Samsung to verify that the TV includes a stand, remote control and in-home warranty. I called Millennium Camera back to question them and was told that they sometimes sell TVs without these items. This was plausible to me because I know that some customers may want multiple TV's to mount on walls in one facility. So I thought there must be a different version of the same TV that is sold to such customers. After researching on-line, I have been unable to find evidence of any TV sold without a stand or remote control. Although I received everything I ordered, I was apparently charged more than the initial sale price for items that normally come with the TV. I never received an invoice or billing statement from Millennium Camera.

Today I learned that the actual charge to my card was $1624.99 - higher than the agreed amount.

Here's the important information, including the names of the owners and physical addresses. See this webpage for complete information.

The owners are Albert Houllou and Marvin Schwartz.

The two main physical addresses are -

2922 Avenue L, Brooklyn, NY 11210

and 337 East 89th St., Brooklyn NY 11236.

My credit union and VISA helped me out by refunding $322.00. I was, however, re-charged that amount because I did not return the television.

Here's another trick to watch out for; Broadway Photo will pretend to communicate with you via email, but will use an incorrect email address. You won't receive the email, but they will have "proof" they attempted to communicate. Broadway Photo will send a copy of their email to the credit card company to show how they tried to settle your complaint.

"I beleive that this company and several others (bwayphoto.com; preferredphoto.com; millenniumcamera.com) are all actually the same guy in NY selling "grey" products and doing the old bait & switch by advertising one thing on the web and then when you are forced to "Call & Verify" your order they tell you it is either not in stock or that the product you ordered in the Japanese model and that it cost more $$$ it you want the US version. Do they really ship cameras to the US where the menu items are only in Japanese? Regardless this is a scam - the products they send are not legit (making warranties useless) and their only goal is to make you spend more money for things you don't need. SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!"

"I ordered the 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO lens from them since it was priced about $100 less than anywhere else. I was sent the non-APO version, which is a cheaper, lower quality version. Their customer service told me that the lens was the APO version, but they weren't labeled with APO anymore. Clearly they didn't reference SIGMA's website. I ended up having to pay for the "handling and insurance fees" (which were never mentioned until I called to confirm my order) and the return shipping for their error. Everything about this sounds very shady!! I am contacting my credit card company to see is they can assist in getting the extraneous charges removed.
