Horrible customer experience in the Houston tx location

"On 3/23 my wife went to do a return , basically returning a gaming labtop that I purchased from microcenter . I have indeed purchased 4 labtops within the last 30 days , and have exchanged them either due to thermals , performance not what it was advertised or reviewed or defective unit . Last purchase was a msi Titan 18hx , when spending 5k on gaming labtop , which is a very expensive investment you have to be 100 percent about the product your buying . My biggest concern today isn’t the fact they were upset because I swapped the device , my two major concerns are one the way the General manager approached her asking her what happened ?? And his tone and his approach , he stated that he wouldn’t be able to do any more returns due his loss of money from a financial side , which we did anyways because it was within the return period , as a general manager he should have greeted her first asked what is the reason her husband keeps returning labtops , as a leader running his building where all his associates are watching him and how he offers customer service in a time where every dollar spent could be detrimental to his business survival he actually doesn’t care . I hope this review reaches as many people as possible to understand that customer service and how you are treated is very important because people now have options , and where to shop . Their listed specs don’t match what their vendors send them and that is a problem . For example the MSI titan was advertised and listed that it will run the 64 Gig ram configuration at 5600MHZ which it doesn’t not . Out the box it runs at 4000MHZ and once you manually set the timings to anything above 5200 it becomes unstable and crashes . That isn’t the consumer fault that’s their fault . Also their open box items are stated that they are open box , meaning that a customer purchased them and returned them which now is an open box which isn’t the case for their open box policy . Their open box could mean they opened the unit for repair , or faulty screen which in that case should be listed as refurbished or reconditioned . I’m already in touch with with their corporate office and will be also filing a BBB complaint against this location for how they treated my wife . This is by far the most poor service I have ever acknowledged in my entire retail career ."

AVOID- the will not honor warranties or promises to refund.

"I bought an open box laptop from this company. I was careful to confirm that the 90 day warranty would be upheld, as there were scratches around the power port from the person who originally purchased the item. The power port failed six weeks after purchase, and the company promised to fix or replace it. I went in, waited in line for over an hour, then was told that they would not be honoring the warranty. I left a review describing this issue, and was contacted and promised a full refund. Then it turned into a gift card. Then it turned into a decision NOT to honor their promise to refund, or even provide a gift card- they went back to just not honoring the warranty at all. Avoid at all costs. This company wasted WEEKS of my time, and failed to honor any of their guarantees. They are not trying to keep customers, they are churning. This is made clear by the reviews on their Better Business Bureau listing- MicroCenter routinely pulls this on customers. Buy elsewhere for your own protection."

The worst buying experience I have had in my life!

"On Feb. 2nd, I purchased a refurbished 50" Roku TV for $229.99 at Micro Center store in Duluth, GA. At checkout, I was persuaded to purchase a contract at a cost of $59.99 for a 3 year period that included "cracked screen protection". 3 days later after acquiring a wall mount and installing the TV and turning it on, I discovered the screen was cracked. The TV would power on, but no picture would show. I took the unit back to Micro Center for repair or replacement, with the necessary documentation, after about an hour, I was told that the repair contract had not been uploaded to the "system", at which time the Store Manager informed me that they were not going to repair the TV, and would issue a "store credit" for the $229.99, but they would not be able to issue a refund of the sales tax, nor any refund or pro rate for the 3 year repair warranty. (So after less than a week of owing a worthless television set), I no longer HAVE a television, I'm out $59.99 for a non existent repair contract, $14.88 sales tax, for a television I don't have, AND a $229.99 store credit that I must spend at the very place where this, (for lack of a better term) "RIP OFF", occurred! Color me DISGUSTED AND ANGRY!!!
(I considered taking this to small claims court, but the expense outweighs the probable remedy).
I WILL HOWEVER POST THIS REVIEW EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE THAT I CAN! BUYER BEWARE!

Go Elsewhere

"I recently dropped my laptop off for a black screen. Two days later I contacted Micro Center via chat and was advised that my computer was ready. I was given my computer tried turning it on and still had a black screen. Another tech advised it’s probably my motherboard and it would cost over $500 to put a new motherboard in. After doing some research the motherboard was less than $100. I then asked how much it would cost to remove the SSD Drive and was told $135. After watching YouTube on removing the SSD drive it took less than 5 minutes. They just rip consumers off."

Dishonest, a lake of website, hidden policy, lake customer service

"Dishonest, a lake of website, hidden policy, a lake of fulfilling their rule of the trade, worst customer service experience, not a reliable business, I don't recommend them at all.
These are my experience with the family-owned business model (microCenter). Which is not good for a business with business ethics and customer-oriented. I ordered graphic cards (six of them) for my first mining rig project, their website was shown on limitation per household. I choose the card that has unlimited stock and I ordered the online cards I received an email that the cards are ready for pickup.
I went to the store for pickup, I met a nice lady with a fake smile and said it is a new in-store limitation on this card to be one per household, which something didn't show online or even the confirmation email or the pickup. I told her I wanna talk to the manager she went and got me, Michael, who he supposed to be the manager... I don't think so.
So, he talk in a very rude way and said the microcenter manager has the right to refuse to process the order for no reason like we are slaves, not a client ( i own a company and I never tell my clients that, especially who is paying me money). Which not mentioned online at all that we will be controlled by somebody, I'm a client who ordered online and I received a confirmation email for pickup. ... and they said there's no commitment to fulfil the order to the client.
I called the customer service on the phone and when she heard me talking to the manager she asked me to talk to him, I open my speaker so he can talk to her. It seems she knows him or even she is some kind of supervisor because I heard her telling him do not to give me the order and fix the website.
I felt it is a kind of joke, it seems like it was a family business and the customer service, not real customer service. She is a boss and hiding in a customer service uniform. When I told her it is ethical to honour the order that I placed online, I received the confirmation email.
She told me to wait and placed me on hold for almost 30 minutes and then she came back to me and she said that she talked to the corporate officer and said we have to follow the fake limitation.
I tried to prove they are laying about that, when I was in the store I went online to microcenter website to see if they update this rule of limitation. But still, no limitation online and I placed another order, I ordered another 6 cards online with no problem...
The issue I don't like is how they are not reliable, family business with ethics or rules, small very small to compare it with BestBuy.
I ordered the same cards with $10 differences and free delivery to your house and their website is accurate with a limitation of 3 cards which I understand (demands, and supply) but published online.
I hoped microcenter will be professional in handling client complaints. I will not deal with these people anymore (microCenter). Especially in professional matters, they are not reliable and the customer service ****, Brooklyn Manager his name is Michael and the lady with a yellow smile in the wrong position, customer service lady which looks like a manager hiding in a uniform which gives orders to the manager.
the total experience is awful. I'm feeling choked from such business to be fake and operate in family-owned orientation with limited experience of fulfilling their duties. I ordered from best buy which amazing experience and customer service.

Horrible Electronics Store

"Simply put, the WORST experience in buying a PC I have ever had.

The store clerk, Joseph Thon, was rude, dismissive and aggressively tried to push parts on me saying they were "the last ones they had in stock". Numerous times during our conversation, he just walked off and acted like he had better things to do with his day than discuss the purchase of a PC with me. He did not seem to have any other customers or phone calls to attend to. It felt like this was pushing me through every decision to be made. When picking out a case for the computer, Mr. Thon pointed at one and said "just take it already". I was honestly on the verge of walking out but was eager to replace my computer since it had just died that day and I work from home. It was a mistake.

Upon taking the PC home I found that the hard drive I bought was not correctly installed in order to be identified by the OS and there was less RAM than I paid for installed in the machine. Later, I discovered that the fans on my GPU were not properly set up after the PC overheated because they were set to remain off until the PC reached more than 60 degrees Celsius. The computer is still under warranty but I absolutely do not trust them enough to seek them out for any reason ever again. I would sooner see that store burned to the ground than return even for a refund.

I have since talked to several other patrons of this location. They told me they experienced similar dismissive attitudes and felt rushed buying other products (headphones, etc) from employees at this Micro Center.

The Micro Center at 1957 E. Joppa Road in Parkville, Maryland seems to operate like a shady used car salesman. They know they have something you want and they take pride in abusing their customer base through underhanded and aggressive salesmanship. One star is frankly too many for this terrible establishment. Potential buyer BEWARE!

Want their products to stay on the shelf

"I came to the New Jersey store on a Sunday morning to purchase 10 ubiquity G for bullet cameras they have on the shelf. I am expanding my security for a children’s day camp. I was told by the sales person and the manager that I could only buy one camera because they did not want to run out of stock. They are more concerned with keeping their product on the shelf then selling it to the people that want to buy it. Never again will I enter one of the stores. By the way I’ve spent over $40,000 this year alone in security and IT equipment. Bye-bye Micro Center. Please look out for this post on all social media outlets!"

Don't bother trying to buy something on sale

"BEWARE: You cannot call the store directly and even the National number has a massive hold time. The ONLINE CHAT has an outrageously LONG wait time (I was 29th in the queue on a regular Saturday morning.) OTHER THAN DRIVING TO THIS STORE, you WILL NOT be able to contact them!! If you see a sale item and it's IN STOCK. YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD/PURCHASE for in-store pickup. The 18 Minute In-Store pickup, is more like NEVER PICKUP unless you live next door.

I read a sales ad from Micro Center earlier in the morning today. I wanted to purchase the item and it was listed as "In-Store" only. No online purchase allowed and ONLY in-store pickup. I called Microcenter and was on hold and the hold queue was too long for me to ever speak to a human. I tried to contact the store through the "Online Chat" and I was 29th in the queue. I just wanted to HOLD/Purchase the sale item prior to spending an HOUR of my life driving to the store for the item to be sold out. I checked and refreshed the web site to verify there was still stock and left on the tollway. I immediately headed to the area for the item I wanted to purchase. The item was sold out. I asked Chris Devine (General Manager) what my options were. I explained all the effort I put in trying to have purchase held on the website and had attempted by phone/Online chat. The General Manager Chris Devine was unable to provide any solution, other than me returning home. I asked about a rain-check (No), I asked about pre-purchasing (No). If you want something on sale and it's in-store only, you have to take a risk, since there is no way to purchase for store pickup, nor to hold an item remotely (STILL IN STOCK.)

A place for open RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

"Two lines. One priority (customer pick up) , one regular. When it is clearly my turn they call someone else, they same cashier did it not only 1 but 4 times, each time stared at me giving me the dirty look. When finally (obviously I was very upset) the supervisor on duty calls my last name. I explained to him the unfairness of the situation. He denies it entirely and backs up the behavior of cashier. That was evident RACIAL DiSCRIMINATION. "
