They always have what I need when the big box guys don't. Many times I don't even bother driving to the big box, I go on line and order and usually, the next day, the item is at my door. Yes, there is a warehouse pretty close to me so my shipping may be exceptional but they have places all over the country. Shipping prices are very reasonable, for me, usually less than the taxes would be at the big box!

"I was very suprised and pleased by the customer service. My order was small and I had lots of questions, but the Mcmaster representatives were very helpful.
I was a little nervous about ordering without prices on shipping, especially since I was ordering 2 different materials at 24" x 54" ringing in at about 15 lbs. So I emailed asking what the shipping charges would be prior to the order. I was shocked to find it would only be $5. Not only that but since there is a warehouse in Chicago, it arrived in one day.
Also, the inventory is simply amazing. So much so, that it is sometimes difficult to find the specific item you're looking for. Thankfully, the website is organized and allows for saving orders & bookmarking pages. There are also detailed illustrations & instructions on ordering for most items.

"There's not much to say about this place except for wow.... I've never seen an online store with such a large selection. My order consisted of a bunch of different screw for a new computer case I'm building and some new tubing for my water cooling loop. The screws were for my optical drives which usually retail for a quarter a piece where as I bought a box of 100 for 5 bucks.... Also the black oxide button head screws that I got sold for 30c a piece at the local hardware store, 10 bucks for box of 100. The tubing that I got along with some 120mm fan filters were more then half the price of any other computer store.
Oh, and I can't forget about the shipping. I placed my order late on Sunday night after hours. It shipped out Monday morning before I even got outa bed. I then recieved my package on Wednesday via ground shipping. They also charge exact shipping rates. It was kind of annoying that they didn't tell you shipping cost untill after you order, but it is a very minimal charge.
I will definatly be coming back to this place, it's like the worlds largest discount hardware store."
"McMaster has a huge on-line catalog. The catalog is well organized so browsing for that odd sized stainless steel nut or tygon tubing is about as easy as possible. McMaster has warehouses around the US and Dynamex shipping. Even ground orders arrive within a day or two. Items are well packed and numbered so you can easily double check your ordered.
