I found out about MaxForcePC while researching info about other boutique/custom computer builders, and the large number of recommendations and generally favorable experiences (did not find any negative ones) convinced me to check it out. I joined the forum on the website and requested a quote. The very good price, combined with a personalized attention and the ability to request almost any parts depending on your needs and wallet was superior to all the other places I had considered.

The configuration pages did not work too well when I ordered (may be changed by now..), but I felt the more personal discussion approach was a better option that gives the customer a system custom made for their needs, which I imagine is the reason why people chose boutique builders over Dell, HP etc. in the first place. I enjoy researching what parts I want but if you prefer not to Max will suggest a system based on your needs. I spied around the forum for a while before buying and to me his suggestions were very good and honest (i.e. not pushing heavily for upgrades to make money).

It took about 5 weeks from I ordered till I received the system, but there was an issue with a damaged case which had to be reordered that delayed the build. I was prepared for the wait however and not really bothered by it. The computer arrived excellently packed in the case box inside another box surrounded by padding on all sides. I found noting loose or damaged and the handiwork in the case was very good and cables were neatly tucked away where possible. The boot up was without issues and no bloat/crapware was installed. MaxForcePC performed an overclock from 2.66 GHz to 3.4 GHz as promised and this has been perfectly stable for the 2+ months that I have used the system. I had a few crashes to desktop in Crysis at first, but found this was a know issue with the game, which I was able to fix. After that I’ve had zero crashes and hang ups, windows or otherwise. In both games and editing in Photoshop CS4 the PC has worked flawlessly, as would be expected:)

Since I have not had any issues with my computer I cannot comment on the warranty service. However, Max quickly answered some questions I had on the forum after I received the PC. And seeing the response to those who have issues, I am confident this would be handled in the same professional manner as the ordering process. All orders come with a 3 year warranty from MaxforcePC.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase from maxforcepc.com, and will recommend the store to anyone looking for a high quality computer system tailor-made to your needs.

Hope this review of maxforcePC has been helpful!

"It took me a month to finally decide on the configuration that best suited my needs. I asked 1001 questions and Max answered everyone with a smile. Great customer service thus far. Took their time with the build and testing and the quality shows!! Came packed to the hilt a box within a box all with extra packing. Came with a nice folder with all your Cd's and other info. Also came with a 2 gig thumb drive nice touch.. Set up was a breeze the hardest part was pushing that power button and holding my breath hoping it booted UP.. It is soo silent I could hardly tell it is on but it is running flawlessly. No problems at all thus far Love it and will reccomend Maxforce PC to all my friends and family.. If you are looking for a shop that can custom build your computer so you can pick and choose whatever components you like the best Maxforce PC is it!!"

Buying from MaxForce is THE BEST purchase experience I've ever had. What a change to get personal attention from someone that is knowledgeable and who will make sure that you're completely satisfied with your order. Max went above and beyond to make sure this was a great purchase. I was not completely happy with the sound quality of the speakers and he sent another set at no charge for me to try and paid return shipping for the first set. I'll recommend MaxForce to everyone I know!

Last month I made the decision to purchase a new gaming PC. In the past I would take the time to build my own systems. Currently that just wasn't an option for me. For a few years now I haven’t been keeping up on the latest and greatest computer technology. As all of my fellow nerds can attest, a couple years is a lifetime when it comes to computer technology. Needless to say, I really didn't know what to buy!

Maxforce PC was recommended to me through a friend of mine. He had been going back and fourth with Max on a computer build for about a month prior. At first I was skeptical of the idea of buying a computer through a small vendor, but after reading through the reviews on tomshardware.com and about every single post on the MaxForce Pc forum, I decided to pulled the trigger.

Personal Service and Attention

This is what made me decide to go with MaxForce PC. Max truly wants you as a customer, and it shows. Again and again on his company forum Max patiently answers any questions presented swiftly and succinctly. You do not feel as though that Max is trying to sell you something. He will work with you as long as it takes to get you the system you want. This is before you have even spent a dime.

This is what separates Max Force PC from their larger competitors: PERSONAL ATTENTION.

Anyone looking to just plug in components to a Computer Configuration Web Page and slamming the purchase button would really miss out on what made the buying experience special at MaxForcePc.com. I would advise anyone thinking about purchasing a new computer to go straight to the forms at maxforcepc.com. You will not be disappointed.

Price

Max's prices speak for themselves. Prior to ordering the machine I priced out all the items on my quote. It made absolutely no sense to build the machine myself. Essentially for a few hundred dollars Max assembled, overclocked, tested, and shipped my new computer.

A similar build form Dell, for example, was quoted to me at over $3000 with no monitors and no overclock.
Falcon Northwest quoted me over $4000 with no monitors and no overclock.

To put it simply, Max's prices are spectacular.

Post Invoice Upgrade

Not more than one day after I ordered my system, there was a hefty price drop on Intel Chips. Max switched my order from a Q9450 to a Q9550 at no cost to me.

Patience may be Requirement

It took 5+ weeks to receive my system. This is likely not the norm, as my RAM was not operating properly, and Max had to re-order it. MaxForce PC is going to take the time to make the system right, so be prepared to wait.

Shipment and Receipt

The system arrived in good shape. The only device that had come loose was the Corsair RAM Fan. I would advise everyone ordering a new system to open it up and ensure that all devices are seated properly. The computer was packaged up nicely, but FedEx doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word fragile.

There was an issue with the motherboard bios having reset during shipment. Max worked with me to get the overclock settings reconfigured within an hour of me reporting the problem.

Conclusion

I was very pleased with the overall experience with Max Force PC. I have had the computer for a little over a week now and everything is functioning properly. My wife and I will use Max Force PC again for our next PC purchase.

Thanks Max!

Sincerely,

Bryan J Bartlett

"My system:

Cooler Master Centurion 590
Corsair TX 650W
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8200 2.66GHZ
Cooler Master ICT-D925R-GP
EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1
Super Talent DDR2-800 2GB (2x1G CL4)
Seagate ST3320620AS 320GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB
LG Electronics GH20NS 20X SATA DVD+/-RW
Sapphire Radeon HD4850 512 MB
Logitech Media Keyboard
BenQ FP202W V3 20" 5ms DVI Widescreen
Logitech S220 2.1 Stereo Speaker

I could not be happier with this system. At 1680*1050 I can run Half Life 2, Bioshock, and Supreme Commander at max settings with anti-aliasing. Crysis is great at high quality settings, no AA. Boot up is roughly 15 seconds from powering on to logging in (Vista Ultimate 32-bit).

This hardware gives me more performance than I expected for the money, and both the processor and the graphics card have plenty of potential for overclocking. The system is cool, quiet, and totally stable.

Customer service with Max was great. He was low-pressure and very responsive, and answered all of my questions effectively. Paying through Paypal was painless. When my peripherals came in, I discovered that the monitor did not include a DVI cable as I had said I wanted and Max had thought was included. When I mentioned this to him, he included a cable with the tower when that was shipped out at no additional cost to me.

I figure that configuring the system on the forum was meant to be a stop-gap measure until the configurator was up (it now is), but I found it very useful to be able to look at the systems others were building, see their questions and Max's answers, and get an idea of what was possible at various price points. Some non-tech-savvy people who have never used a forum might find this method awkward or discomforting, but I thought it was a great benefit.

I recommend MaxForcePC to anyone who mentions getting a new computer. If my parents decide to get one, I'm sure I'll be back to order it for them from here.
