Responsive customer service and a generous reimbursement proposal

"Ordered a Steelcase Leap Chair V2 in „open box“ condition with Madison Seating. When the chair arrived it turned out that the seat was noticeably wobbling. I addressed the problem and their customer service (Andrew, Emma, Annie) were very responsive and always returned my emails immediately. Unfortunately, the problem could not be fixed. Hence, Madison Seating offered me (a) to send a replacement chair or (b) to keep the chair and get a full refund. The latter is subject to posting a review on this website. In case I will not receive the full refund as indicated from customer service, I will update this review accordingly. Assuming that the reimbursement will be completed to my satisfaction, I’m more than happy to consider Madison Seating for future business."

"Madison Seating had shipped us the chair requested. It arrived damaged by the freight carrier, Madison is sending a replacement pending a positive review.
I'm giving them 4 stars, as I believe they will replace the item with-in a short time frame and that it will be everything we requested.
I'm being told I may edit this review if for any reason we are not completely satisfied with the transaction.
Here's to hoping for the best!

Responsive and Fair

"Madison Seating shipped 11 chairs to our organization. The chairs that arrived were the correct model, however lacked one feature listed in the product description. Once I made the company aware, customer service immediately contacted me and acknowledged the error. Further complicating this was the fact that through this process, it became clear I actually ordered the wrong model which offered yet an additional feature. As a solution, the company offered to send me replacement parts that included not only the feature listed in the model i ordered but also the feature listed in the model I failed to order. They even supplied an entire chair to address minor damage likely caused by the shipper. We will be doing business with Madison Seating in the future."

Unbelievably unprofessional and rude

"The chair arrived broken, so we have to contact them. Their management is very, very unprofessional and rude. They were not responsive on essential matters and they kept sending rude messages with lots of threats. After we returned the chair, they refused to confirm that they received it... I cannot imagine how horrible service they provided! I will never do business with them again."

Madison Seating is the LAST place to do business!

"I bought 5 chairs from Madison Seating. I received only 3 chairs in my order and 2 of them were damaged. You can't get a LIVE person on the phone that is willing to help you. They love to play the email game back and forth! I'm still trying to get my remaining 2 chairs. Horrible experience doing business with them. They no nothing about customer service or customer satisfaction. Never again will i do business with Madison Seating!"

You can get a good Refurbished chair at a good price, if you're one of the lucky ones.

"The chairs this company sells are good quality chairs, but not brand new. The prices and the customer service are very good, and if you have any problems, they will be resolved. We received a Steelcase Leap chair with a broken back support. I e-mailed customer service with a picture of the broken piece and they first offered me a 60% refund. I told them I would just rather have a replacement chair. They said no problem and offered to send another one and let us keep the broken one in exchange for this review. I will update this review once the new chair comes if there are any problems with it. If you order from Madison Seating, you will get a good quality chair for about 1/2 price, but you may have to deal with a few problems to get it. I think it is worth it.

Poor parts

"The wheels on the aeron chair I bought from Madison Seating are leaving black marks on my carpet, which are very difficult to remove. I contacted the company and the response was pretty dry "You are certainly able to buy upgraded hardwood floor casters".... sure I can, but that is an extra cost and hassle that wasn't part of the deal."

"We ordered 30 ergonomic office chairs from Madison Seating. 29 of them arrived in good shape and we are very happy with the quality and ergonomic nature of them. 1 arrived damaged though, so we are waiting to receive a replacement to the 30th chair and are being asked to write this review as a stipulation to receive the last one. Depending on if we get the replacement quickly and undamaged, I will edit this review to be 5 stars or 3 stars. "

Good Customer Service

"The ordering process was easy. Due to a small technical glitch in processing my credit card, I was contacted quickly and my issue was resolved. One of the chairs was damaged in shipping. Customer Service was quick to respond to my email, and after providing photos, they agreed to replace the chair. Although these are (appear to be) reconditioned, they are a great value for the price. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase."

Horrible quality of products

"These guys are horrible. We received an open box with burned fabric bleached and they kept insisting that it was DUST. Open box to them means USED and deteriorating.
We sent pictures, but ... they tried to drive us crazy. Buyer beware.

The company contacted me and made things right

"I purchased a Steelcase Leap chair from Madison Seating for a Christmas gift for my husband. I had a very frustrating time with customer service after my chair arrived broken. New parts weren't shipped for almost a month, leading to being very upset with them.

After I posted a review about my negative experience here and a few other places, the company contacted me and apologized, and sent me a new chair at no cost. I left the experience with a good bit of faith restored in Madison Seating.

Folks. It is a USED chair. Wise up!

"First, to all of you that complained that you got a used chair. You are fool to believe you get a new chair at 1/2 the new price. What are you thinking? "Open Box" is a marketing gimmick, but it doesn't mean "New". Nowhere is it stated that you are getting a "New" chair. You may get replacement cheap vinyl arms and casters to dress up the areas that wear the most. But, so what? The rest of the chair is in very good shape and you are saving $600 off the cost of a new chair.

OK, nothing wrong with a used chair if it arrives in good shape; that seems to be a bit hit or miss reading the reviews. My Aeron arrived with broken arms, like so many other chairs, but otherwise looked good. Customer Service blamed it on the shipper; I think it was poor QC. Lots of people receive chairs in excellent condition, so don't get too worried. Reading the reviews, those with major defects seem to get replacement parts/chairs overall in a reasonable time.

Customer service was courteous and timely to send out replacement parts. Ultimately I returned the chair because the Pellicle seemed unusually stiff. My money was promptly returned. No hassle at all. Despite the outcry of bad CS, mine was quite the opposite.

So bottom line, you get what you pay for. Set your expectations reasonably, and you will be quite satisfied.
