Filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau

"Hello, on Fed 25,2022 I placed an order for 4 of these memory modules for my 2008 Mac Pro 2.8Ghz. (661-4680 A1186 Mac Pro 2006 2007 2008 - FB-Dimm, 4 GB, DDR2 800, ECC NB-2221W) I noticed they did not have the heat sinks that my original Apple memory had but I installed them and all seemed fine til they ran a while. Then the fans go full force and will not slow down. I pulled the memory back out and tried it with my memory and all is fine. Then I noticed your FB-Dimm's have a different PC speed (PC2-5300F) than mine (PC2-6400F) and Apple says they may not have the required sensors that the Mac Pro needs. I have included pictures so you may compare your memory with mine. Please tell me what I need to do to correct this, thanks so much for your help, I sent this the next week and they never responded!!! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am still waiting. Buyers BEWARE!!!!!!!"

Shipped defective product. Return was lost. Never received refund.

"In a word: Thieves. In a slightly more charitable word: Incompetent.

Strong language, but I would like to spare you from repeating my experience with this company. I ordered a replacement graphics card for a 2011 iMac on 11/19/2019, and was shipped a defective, DOA card. While they were quick enough to issue an RMA and a Priority Mail shipping label, the trouble started when the postal service lost the package. (The tracking number showed that USPS had possession of the item and lost it.)

For any sensible business, this is a simple inconvenience. Refund the customer, open an insurance claim for the value of the item with USPS, and everyone moves on. Not so for Mac Parts Depot.

Multiple emails, eight phone calls, many promises of receiving a refund via debit card or check, and nearly a year later: Nothing. At all.

I've received the same story every time I've called: either their accounting person isn't there or I can't be transferred to them, but "Chris", who answers the phone, will let them know to refund me. I've asked for confirmation in writing, but that has never been sent.

Regarding my earlier choice of words, whether this is incompetence or malfeasance on Mac Parts Depot's behalf, the result is the same. A complaint has been filed with the BBB, and a report (such as it is) was made to the FTC.

So, dear reader, please look elsewhere. It pains me to write a negative review of a small business, but the behavior of Mac Parts Depot has been inexcusable. There are other, more attentive businesses ready to serve you, I am sure. I am loath to even give them one star, as they have not earned even that level of consideration from me. Stay away.

Never received refund, messages ignored

"I returned an order that UPS confirmed was delivered to Mac Parts Depot on 9/14. Today is 10/20 and I still have not received my refund. They have not responded to my emails, messages on their website’s chat, form submissions on their website, or phone calls. $60 down the drain. PLEASE give me my refund."
