"This was a great experience all around for me. I ordered a Macbook from them. Shipping was free with UPS Ground. It came in the expected timeframe in great protective packaging. So far the computer is working great. It is like I bought it right from Apple, but much cheaper. The Macbook was priced at $988 with a $70 Mail in rebate.

The order did not come with the invoice so I e-mailed customer service and they reponded the same day with a link to the website for my invoice to be printed from there.

I appreciate companies like MacConnection being around in tough ecomonic times.

I have not gone through the rebate process so I cannot speak to that, but I am hoping it goes as smoothly as everything else so far.

"If it's too good to be true, it must be. Saw an item here that was about $15 lower than anywhere else though it was out of stock. The site said the order could still be placed and it would be charged and shipped once available. I was willing to wait so I placed the order. Over a week later just out of idleness I logged in to check the status of my order. It was marked CANCELED. No email, no phone call, nothing. I never would have known about it. What I did notice is that the price of the item was now higher. This was my first and will be my last experience with this company."

"Wanted to order a refurbished monitor that was half the cost. Company has poor reviews but for the price I thought I would chance it. Over Two weeks later from initial order and no monitor. Don't bother buying if you don't have a land line. There fraud protection is ridiculous and a waste of time, especially if your using a verified paypal account. There are better and faster businesses that will appreciate your business and treat you like a valued customer. "

"I bought a mackbook pro from macconnections recently. Initially I was really apprehensive about buying from this site, but given the rebate (not sure if/when that will be processed), and not not having to pay taxes, I eventually purchased it from this site. I probably saved $200-$300 as opposed to buying it from the apple store.
As far as the prices go, they offer the best deal. But if you are looking for customer service in case you are not happy with the product or whatever, this is possibly the worst place.

From the very day I received my macbook, the fan and HD were running more than normal, and was making more noise than expected. I compared it against a few macbooks that my friends have, and my fan and HD were defintely going crazy. My 5 yr old thinkpad is much more quiter than this machine.

So you have 15 days to return your item. I called macconnections to return it. They will take it back but will charge you a 20% restocking fee (eventhough i am returning it within the 15 day period) ...Plus you have to obviously pay for the shipping. The lady on the phone didnt seem to care. It was like we already have your money, why do I care. If you send it back we will just charge you a 20% restocking fee.
Sure like I'm crazy, after spending $1700 for a laptop, I am eager to spend more on it.

Anyways, the morale of the story being, you may end up spending a couple of hunder dollars more at the apple store... but you obviously get better service there. I used to think what the heck, I'll get a good piece... I dont have to worry abt customer service... But I realize it does matter.
The customer rep said they dont resell items returned to them. However just my instinct, I was quite dissapointed in the packaging when I received it. Some of things looked like they were repackaged. It could very well be that apple packed it that way...you never know.

"I purchased a 2TB SATA disk for my Mac Pro. It wasn't until it was delivered that I realized that it is not compatible with my system. Not their fault, it was mine. I hadn't opened the package. I called MacConnection, and their tech support chap was extremely helpful. We concluded that the disk would not work, and so they took the disk back. They even waived the restocking fee. They gave me an RMA number and my refund was in the bank within days. Very impressed with their support, responsiveness, and politeness. "

"I ordered a mac mini that was on sale on 11/30/10, but cancelled it before it was shipped. Customer care assured me that my card had not been charged because I cancelled on time. I even called back to verify this twice. On 12/3/10, I discovered that my card had, in fact, been charged. After getting the run around, I called my bank and then I had the credit card dept. of mac connection fax the cancellation to my bank. It took a good hour of my time to finally get this resolved and to have my money refunded. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Buy locally even if you have to pay the full price. BEWARE."

"cancelled my order for a $599 mac mini because I could not get a straight answer.

site showed in stock, ships tomorrow when I ordered it and the same through the next day.

it didn't ship 'tomorrow' as suggested

online chat with them suggested first I needed to call to discuss my credit card... in all my years of ordering online I'd never heard this. I asked why I had to initiate a chat session to find this out and never got a response.

next chat session I was told holiday orders can be slow...

Cancelled the order, don't appreciate merchants baiting with lowball prices.

"This was the worst online transaction I've ever been a part of. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!! I placed an order for an imac from them and an hour later got a call back from them telling me they couldn't sell to me online without having a landline telephone to verify my identity because of security reasons. They said I would have to send them a wire transfer through my bank. I have no problem with this necessarily because I understand that they need to protect themselves. The problem was that the woman was the rudest woman I've ever spoken to in my life. She spoke to me like I was a criminal who was trying to defraud her and not a customer who wanted to buy a $2000 computer from them. She kept asking me why I didn't have a landline phone...as if that is so strange in 2010. Also she kept telling me very rudely that they need to verify their customers and that they can't trust us. Well they are the ones who shouldn't be trusted, because they charged my credit card anyway and it took all day to get the money back on my card so I could buy the computer from a much better company that I can highly recommend...PowerMax

"I initially had apprehension about buying because their 13" white unibody MacBook 2.4 GHz is only $849.99 after $105.00 rebate. It was too good to be true especially that a rebate exists for this Mac. After careful research, I found them to be one of only few Apple Authorized Resellers on Apple.com with BH Photo, Best Buy, JR, Fry's and MacConnection's other site PCConnection.

So I took the risk and found out it was pleasant to do business with them. The MacBook shipped fast, sealed and carefully packaged in another huge box. I called them up the day of the ETA from UPS to change my mind and return the Mac and so they were kind enough not to charge me a restocking fee as long as I return it unopened. I changed my mind and kept the system.

The MacBook came with factory defect though. The Optical Drive is defective. The agent at MacConnection was very prompt in all his response. I have emailed them only about my case and answered all my questions. He gave me a Return Authorization with prepaid shipping (because the product was defective) and will ship me a new Mac once they got back the defective one. I decided I keep the Mac and go back to Apple to have the Optical Drive replaced.

Regarding the rebate, the Mac has identical UPC label on the white box and the manila box it is in. Agent had me cut the UPC on the manila box retaining the white Apple box intact.

I had no trouble at all from this merchant. I will perhaps come back to them when I upgrade to MacBook Pro.

UPDATE:

I received the $105.00 rebate, about 5 weeks after submission. Not bad, at par with all other rebates from other stores.

"I wouldn't buy from these guys. Bought a sony 40ex700 TV from them for $1260. Two weeks later, same tv, same site, priced at $900. They wouldn't credit me..not even store credit. I could return it but for a $504 restock fee. Gee, thanks. I could see if it was past 30 days....but 2 weeks? I repeat, don't buy from these guys...I never will again"

"I purchased an IMac and requested at least 3 times from various sales people, "What the "Barcoded/UPC" symbol looked like?." On
I followed the instructions to the letter and send them the "original" Barcode/UPC off the box.
On August 2, 2010 I received a letter from Mac Connection informing me that I had NOT sent the original item and my rebate request was denied. Well, the original is gone and I am screwed. If any one expected "Mac Connection" to honor their Rebate Program, they are going to get the shaft just like I did.
Mac Connection is a Horrible, Horrible Company!

"I'm a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due. That being said, I could not have had a better shopping experience with PC/MacConnection. I searched all over the internet trying to find a good price on a new IMac and finally came across MacConnection. I placed the order on October 9, 2009 (Friday), but found out the item was on backorder. By October 13 (Tuesday), my order was processed and today (October 19) I received my IMac.
I first spoke with a representative when they called me to confirm I had actually placed the order and confirm my information; this was a pleasant surprise that they would actually take that extra measure of security. The second time I spoke with a representative was to clear up a billing issue (completely my fault). Both customer service representatives were extremely friendly and helpful. It's nice to see that even within these tough economic times, there is still an emphasis on customer service. They have definitely made a lifelong customer out of me!

"I am always cautious about ordering on line, I came across the website and after comparing prices decided to order the 24 inch 320 gig imac, excellent price, rebate, no sales tax and free shipping, must be too good to be true? placed the order July 2 over the phone, very helpful staff, answered all questions, shipped ground immediately and I received it July 7. I had no problems and the machine is exactly what I expected for way less than any other dealer. highly recommended"
