Out of stock..... Again

"We rent from lumoid all the time. Recently 3 times a month for wedding season. The people are friendly and the product is slightly cheaper then the rest of the rental companies. This is good and why I gave them 2 stars.
My problem, and it's a very big one, is the fact that they will wait until 2 days before you need the lens to tell you it is out of stock. In my case it's the Canon 85 L. I have tried renting this lens 4 times now and each time, 2 days before I'm to get the lens, I get that annoying "out of stock" email. My wife actually told me to just use another place before I made my order and I didn't listen to her. Sure enough, just woke up to find my "out of stock" email for my wedding in 2 days. Shame on me.
I hate leaving negative reviews but this just ****. They really need to rework the system they are using and let you know when you go to check out on the website. Every other site I've tried does this. I hate to say it but this will be my last rental through Lumoid. They are unreliable and in my line of work I need to trust the places I hire because it is ultimately an extention of my on business.

Worst Customer Service

"The worst customer service I've ever had. I returned my light rental through FedEx and in the same box with my own postage and they said they never received the light. Instead of trying to help me resolve the issue, they charged me multiple late fees and sent repetitive unhelpful emails asking for tracking info that I stated I could not provide. It gets worse. When I left a message on their customer service line my call was never returned. I do not recommend this service to anyone and will not be doing business again."

Has this been used enough?!

"I did a bundle rental; fitness band, scale and blood pressure monitor. According to the first email I received everything was in stock and would be shipped shortly. Then I get an email a couple days later saying sorry part of your order is on back order we'll update you when it's going to ship. So three weeks later (I've pretty much forgotten about it at this point) I get an email saying it's ready to ship. I get the stuff and boy is it crap. Everything is dirty and looks incredibly used. I get its a rental but I have the option to keep and buy, therefore is expect things to come in their original packaging and be in sellable condition. To add insult to injury nothing works. Fitness band doesn't sync, blood pressure monitor doesn't Work at all and the scale won't even connect to my phone. Wth did I spend money on if I can't actually try out the products. I think this company is a scam and frankly I'm going to address this with the bbb. "

Horribly Organized Company

"After getting a partially charged drone and remote here is the rest of my story.

As I shipped my rented drone out Monday it should have arrived back in California within the week (2 day shipping. However for some reason they decided to reroute the package mid shipment when it was basically in California already. This was annoying because they hold a 900$ deposit on your card before it's processed. A week later I called to see what was going on with the package and my deposit money. Today I found out that after it got to the New York office it they decided they need to ship it BACK to California for more testing. This is the drone that I never got to do anything else with other than charge the batteries and sync it with my app once (didn't even put the propellers on). With their "expedited" process it won't even get to California until next week.

What the heck is going on with you guys? How is testing in California different than testing in New York? and if that's the case why didn't you just test it in California in the first place before sending it to New York? Also in a situation where you are holding a customer's money for an extending amount of time shouldn't you try to get it fixed as soon as possible (Not ship it away for another week before it can be assessed??)

In short never working with this company again and I would advise anyone looking to rent from them to beware.

Best camera rental service!

"What more could I have got after being able to rent a Canon 5D mark III and the 70-200 from Lumoid so smoothly. Their customer service is excellent. I had some last minute changes to my rental and wanted another lens which they wen't out of they way to purchase and rent it out so that I could make it to my photo shoot fully geared up. Love you guys!"
