Frustration at its Highest!

"I had emergency surgery on Labor Day Weekend last year. I was admitted thru the emergency room and kept for my surgery. I had prior testing done which was pre-approved by Liberty and after my release I contacted them and informed them of my surgery. I was told that they would submit everything and that there should be no problems. I called them again in a couple weeks as it was not looking like things were being handled correctly to have my surgery approved. Again I was told that everything was no listed as pre-approved and not to worry. The next month I called again to let them know that it was showing as being denied due to no pre-notification. Every time I have called they have been professional and nice, this time the person I spoke to placed me on hold and called pre-authorization to get it straightened out. She came back and said that it was taken care of. Since they take 6 months to pay and this surgery has totaled tens of thousands of dollars I have been forced to make payments out of my pocket. Today I went into my account and saw that they had corrected their mistake but now they have moved the "creation date" of my bill submission back well over a month from the first time it was first created and improperly denied. I asked to speak to a manager regarding this as this is not correct or a "Christian" way of doing business when you penalize your customers for your companies mistakes. She told me that there was nothing she could do and that she didn't feel it was their issue. They had approved everything else excluding the actual surgical costs...... My belief is that they do this to postpone having to actually pay out costs incurred. Fortunately I have a new insurance company this year so I will not have to work around their issues in the future. I was a member for years and never had a cost until this last year. If you are thinking about using this company I would suggest checking out other sources first. Good luck & God bless"

Takes 6 months to get paid back

"When you turn in a medical expanse they say that it can take up to 6 months to get paid back I am still a member only because they owe me a few thousand dollars for medical expenses that I paid out of pocket and it has been moths and still waiting. Its said that it is out for sharing and has been out for 3 months now. Don't waste your money ."

Don't do it!

"We have been with Liberty for 5 years. Initially, they were pretty good, but in the last 3 years, we've had nothing but problems. First, expect to do ALL of the work yourself. Second, expect to have to submit the same information over and over only to be told that you don't have the correct code (which is on the paperwork you submitted). Third, call the company and get someone who has not been through proper training (but will be nice to you). Fourth, expect to wait up to 6 months to receive any refunds. Liberty doesn't mind taking your money, but don't believe them when they say that they are a SHARE company. They most certainly are not. The really sad part? They say that they are a Christian company."

Worst Health Insurance Decision

"Worst Health Insurance decision we made. Members for one month and had to fight them to approve our visit was an emergency. Following that we had to pay a bill to get scheduled for another visit to our doctor because they would not pay it initially. They committed to reimburse us for our bill in writing per an email saying they would send a check for reimbursement for the bill that we paid, that we never should have. They said it could take 90 days to receive the check. At 90 days we called and they said they were sorry we were misinformed by their employee and they said they will not write a check to us. We shared how they sent an email of confirmation saying we would receive a check, but they continued to say it is agains their guidelines even though their employee was approved to send us an email saying we were going to be receive a check for reimbursement.
All this being said do not fall for the monthly savings and go to a health share plan. Stick with the big companies because they do not challenge or try to hide when it comes to making payments for you and your family

Don't Join Liberty Health Share

"Sadly, we have been with Liberty Health Shares for 4 years. We always pay our monthly shares to them, on time, never missing a payment.
We have never filed a claim with Liberty Health Share until 2019. We called Liberty in advance to verify that they would pay for our claim. We were told that the procedure was a preventative procedure and that they would pay the medical bills. We ended up paying for the procedure ourselves, out of pocket, at the time of service in order to receive a discounted price from the hospital, thinking we were doing such a great thing for Liberty Health Shares by saving them money on the medical bills. We have now been waiting OVER ONE YEAR to be reimbursed for our claims. I call every month for updates and each time I hear another excuse. I would never ever ever ever recommend Liberty Health Shares to anyone. EVER.

Corrupt Company

"Do not sign with this company!!! I've had the most horrible experience for almost a year now. They have NOT paid my medical bills for a annual check up that is included with the membership.r. They procrastinate talking to you and getting things resolved. My bills went to collection. And now I am responsible for the full amount. They are horrible and their customer service although very polite and nice they do not follow through.
The most annoying thing is that every time you call there is at least one hour waiting.. and if the phone line drops you have to start all over again. This has happened to me several times and needless to say I'm no longer a member and do not recommend them to anybody. Save yourself from them!

Total Rip Off

"My wife joined 2 years ago and has submitted 5 invoices for normal preventative medical procedures. To date we have not gotten one penny back from them and are told they take six months to process requests. As a supposed Christian Organization their practices are dishonest, not truthful, and hurtful since we take the credit hit.

I would not touch this program under any circumstances. They are no truthful, responsive or ethical at any level. Also as a Christian organization they bring a dark cloud over the church o Jesus Christ. STAY AWAY

Horribly inefficient, no resolution after 2+ years

"I was a member from 2017 to 2019. Faithfully paid my monthly share amount the entire time. When I unfortunately suffered a pregnancy loss at the end of 2018, the hellish claims nightmare began and hasn't stopped. I have 2 derogatory marks on my credit because of Liberty's shady process of paying only a PORTION of the medical bill. Once they do, every single provider comes after YOU. I have had lawyers and bill collectors calling me none stop, constantly reminding me of the awful loss I suffered nearly 2 years ago. I have one bill from when my son broke his leg in 2017 that still jas not been paid. They are horrible to work with and I have spent countless hours on the phone with them attempting to resolve these issues. I gladly re-enrolled in my employer's healthcare plan after dealing with this company. They are horribly inefficient and require more babysitting than I ever would expect given the amount of money I faithfully paid. "

Liberty Healthshare is too risky, complicated, deceptive to be effective or affordable.

"I will never again trust another healthsharing ministry. I pray one day soon this company will be banned from taking advantage of minority uninsured families and invididuals. My family is further from access to coverage and therefore further from access to healthcare because of Liberty. Counting the days til we get on Blue cross blue shield! Don't risk your wellbeing by joining this shamful company!"

Run

"Put up with them for just under 3 years my fault. Every bill submitted was always wrong. If you don’t call over and over again you will never be reimbursed. Don’t ever have a real problem they pay nothing for ambulances or emergency room. Like so many reviews here 6 months or more and nothing. They don’t reach out to anyone to let them know their policy is to pay whenever they want. So you will receive collection notices. DO NOT JOIN LIBERTY!!!!!! THEY ****!!!!! "

Horrible nightmare

"I had Liberty Healthshare for 15 months. I submitted all kinds of medical expenses in that year and they only reimbursed me for 3 bills. They would repeatedly put me on hold for 20-30 minutes, and would answer "we have no timeline on when these bills will be reimbursed" when I would inquire about reimbursement of bills that were 6-7 months old. They had me track down special doctors notes on one particular appointment , making special phone calls and getting the doctor to fax the notes to Liberty Healthshare. They then "lost" the fax. Complete incompetence all around. I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and that generated a response from Liberty Healthshare that "an associate would be contacting me in the next 48 hours". No one contacted me. I went back on Better Business Bureau and told them my case had not been resolved and was still left waiting to be reimbursed for 2 bills. I then received an email from a Liberty HealthShare associate and told I would be reimbursed for one bill but there would be "no guarantees" on when the other bill would be reimbursed, that it had to be "sent out for re-processing". (I quickly learned this is their favorite line to use when you ask about reimbursement). I then filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Ohio and spoke with an investigator as well as my father (an attorney) who was chomping at the bit to sue them. I told the LHS associate about this threat of suing them and 2 weeks later, I finally got reimbursed for the 2nd bill. Such a shame that they claim to be a Christian company and that I had to go to such lengths for reimbursement. Stay away from this company."

Liberty HealthShare is a cheater

"They allowed you to apply, but you have to input your Credit Card info, then before you approve the service, they start billing you. And you have to dispute the charge, and refund takes long time (haven't received yet), so have to request credit card company to dispute. My experience told me this is a cheating company."

When will people realize, they actually gave it to you straight!

"I have read literally THOUSANDS of very horrible reviews about LHS. Why? Because they left a deep scar where once was trust in the human race. It's that bad. They collect millions and millions of dollars (nearly billions) from people and call each dollar a gift. Yes, it's in writing. They actually do not owe you a dime. The decision to pay a bill, that is also a gift or blessing or whatever. No member has to pay squat for anyone else. It's framed as insurance and dressed up like a Christian club and at it's core is deception. If you consider for a second to give this place you're money, come back in a year. You'll be reading this, wondering why the hell you didn't believe it. Save your money in a coffee can where it can really work for you."

Don't sign up till you read this

"Before you sign up... spend 45 minutes trying to get a hold of them... Not the sales department... the people that actually help you with information and claims. This should have you scared. if that doesn't do it... Email them.... After 2-3 weeks... try calling again. These guys are ghosts.

I have had to pay out of pocket PLENTY... because Liberty HealthShare isn't taken most places. I had to pay for my son's ENTIRE knee surgery out of pocket. it has been 5 1/2 months... of the correct paperwork being submitted. I don't have ONE CENT in refunds nor any contact about where we stand... I MUST get back on the phone for 45 minute wait to be told... until there bills are 6 months old ... they can't move paperwork along. Horrible Business Model. RUN. Never use them. Thank me later.

A pastors review

"If I could give Liberty Healthshare a negative 10 review, I would. My wife and I signed up several years ago and paid our premiums. Then this last year we finally had a medical expense. I even called Liberty Healthshare before having the procedure to make sure that it would be covered and they assured me that it would, so I proceeded.

Then months later I started receiving the medical bills and Liberty did not cover them. They said there must have been a mistake and everything would be escalated and resubmitted. We have now gone through that process multiple times and we are now in collections for these medical bills.

If you are considering becoming a member of Liberty Healthshare all I can say is PLEASE RUN!!! They are not a legitimate company!
