Do not expect aANY "support" from Lacie

"Just be aware if you buy a product from this company you will be on your own! Had a problem with the software for an external hard drive. Sent multiple requests for help on their site that states Support will get back to you within 24 hours..................NEVER HAPPENED!
I would just say if you buy one of their products do not expect ANY help if something is not working correctly! BUYER BEWARE!

"Terrible customer service. Product was not designed well. Physical defect. Two tickets multiple calls and multiple replacements later the problem still existed. Escalation promises did not happen and I had to pay shipping to return defective products they sent me! I will never buy a LACIE product again based on how I was treated. I work in IT and explained this yet this disregarded this and asked me the same stock questions. Don't Expect a return after 30 days from original purchase. I wanted to return for another Lacie product that works but was denied. The usb drive does not stay connected well i nthe usb slot and drops connection."

"I bought a Lacie 320 LCD monitor from a reseller a few months ago and while it is an excellent monitor, I messed up and dropped it on the desktop when setting it up. It cracked the frame in several places, and possibly compromised the integrity of the monitor.

I called Lacie and freely admitted my clumsiness, and asked for instructions on sending the monitor in for non warranty repair. I was told that they DO NOT in ANY WAY support their equipment if it is NOT WARRANTY RELATED. I repeated that I would be PAYING parts and labor for repair, and they told me they CANNOT charge for parts and labor; they can ONLY service equipment if it is WARRANTY RELATED.

I have confirmed that this is NOT THE CASE with NEC monitors. The Lacie 320 is basically the NEC MultiSync LCD2090UXI with some customizations added. If you have a NEC monitor and you damage it, you CAN send it in to a NEC service center and PAY for non warranty related parts and labor service.

BUYER BEWARE: If you buy Lacie products, if your item is damaged and/or needs serviced and it's not covered under the warranty, you CAN'T EVEN PAY TO GET IT FIXED BY LACIE, EVEN IF IT'S BRAND NEW. You are now 100% permanently stuck with EXPENSIVE BROKEN EQUIPMENT.

I would also point out that Lacie ("A P S Technologies") has the following on file with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org):

"After a terrible shopping experience with Adorama I cancelled the Adorama order and purchased a brand new LCD display from LaCie store instead.

What an excellent service!

I called them on June 29 at 11:30 AM to confirm they have a display in stock.

I placed my order online at 11:56 AM. Paid $5 shipping charge.

Received confirmation e-mail at 12:23 PM.

The package shipped with FedEx Ground at 10:54 PM from Portland, OR.

Next day, June 30 at 12:30PM the package was at my door in Seattle, WA.

"Ordered a reconditioned Lacie electron19blueIV monitor. For the cheaper price I was glad to receive an excellent reconditioned monitor. Their website says that the monitor does not ship with the hood but I was glad that my order came with one. Their customer service is very helpful even though I did have to wait around 5-10mins before I spoke to anyone. I would recommend anyone that is interested in purchasing their products, to do so. "

"LaCie is great!

I ordered an extra "brick" for my LaCie FireWire drive on Tuesday (24MAY2005) and had it on Friday. Three days and I paid for the cheapest slowest shipping.

Previously I have ordered two LaCie Porsche Design FireWire drives. Delivery was quick.

With one of them, I needed some technical help for setup. LaCie Tech SUpport was excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly.

LaCie makes great products and is very easy to do business with.
