"Love the staff, everyone is genuine. Even though there are so many children that attend they always know who me and my son are and call him by name. That really makes me feel good."

All the kids in the program/center appear to be happy and in good spirits there and when they leave. Babies are tough to handle because they cant communicate like others but they do a good job. Minor improvements are needed but the center is good."

"I visited several schools prior to choosing LaPetite. I decided on enrolling my children while I was still expecting with both of them. Each one of the staff members helps me to feel confident and safe leaving my children in their care."

"It's always been fine. They took good care of both of our children. But I've never been blown away. We just can't afford the nicest schools in town, so this is the best we can get. I don't like how loud the classrooms are or how unorganized it all seems. With our first child, we did his last year in a nicer school. We'll do the same with this one. We've used this daycare for a total of about 6-7 years between both children. I'd give them a 6/10 overall. They meet minimum standards but don't excel at much of anything.Also, I've always hated the smell in this daycare. The smell in the lobby is the worst...I don't even know how to describe it."

There is a teacher there by the name of Patricia Rice Foster who I walked in on. She hit two children on the head and grabbed and squeezed three other kids by their heads and pushed them. My son had been starting to act like someone had been hitting him on the head which was what alerted me. I told the lady at the front about my concerns. She acted like she actually cared. The next day was when I decided to walk in quietly. Patricia did not know I was standing at the doorway when she was hitting, grabbing, and pushing the children. When she saw me standing there watching she was about to hit another child but stopped centimeters from the childs head. I was sick to my stomach and very upset at that point . Another teacher was in the same room which meant Patricia was obviously comfortable doing this and felt comfortable doing it in front of her. I grabbed my baby and went and told the same lady at the front. I wrote a report about what happened and asked them if the would tell the parents what happened. She assured me she would and do an investigation. At that time I demanded that my son be immediately removed from that room and stay with miss Gi Gi or another teacher I trusted, and that by no means would Patricia go near my child. The daycare never said anything to the other parents so I said something and asked if they were told. The parents told me they were not. Apparently after that the same lady at the front covered up the incident and told the parents that I caused problems. The parents then asked the daycare that I not talk to them. Really?!!! The daycare then installed cameras that don't record by the way. I know because I called the district manager and requested to view them on my days off. She told me they do not record. To put the cherry on the top. Patricia was moved to the baby's who could not talk. Patricia also did not change my sons diapers I have several pictures of after picking my child up where his bottom was raw. He cried when I bathed him. I would even sign consent forms to make sure diaper rash cream was applied.
On my lunches and breaks I would call to make sure he was changed. I think me doing this may have triggered Patricia to abuse my child. This incident changed my life forever. My son was supposed to be protected. Not abused by the daycare. They also covered everything up completely. DHR has rated this daycare as one of the best places, which had me terrified of putting him somewhere else. I did. The incident that topped it off is after I dropped my son off after lunch one day. I stayed and watched in the backroom by the glass doors the teacher grabbed a little boy by his face and shook him. He wouldn't lay down and take a nap. I immediately went to the front and grabbed the same lady whos name I cant remember for the life of me. She was a big top heave black lady who had just had a baby girl. She immediately started covering up and said she was sure that did not happen and she would talk to the little boy. She didn't ask for a name or what he looked like. She started to walk away and I said no I would not leave until they had a safe teacher to leave my son with especially after they covered up the last incident so well. I also said this was it. I had had it with the daycare. Leaving my child there had me worried sick. I legitimately felt physically ill every day I had to leave him. I told her if something was not done immediately I was going to call the police and report her for failure to report abuse to DHR since she was a mandated reporter and I would testify against her for how she covered up my son being abused by Patricia. They fired the lady who grabbed and shook the child. To this day even mentioning this daycare makes me feel physically ill. My sons Dr reported the school to Dhr but told me DHR never contacted them back, Nor did they talk to me.

The lady who did all the covering up and lying; I do believe her name is Shante if I remember correctly. She will assure you she will handle the problem, but that is all she does. After that she lies, covers up, and manipulates the family members of the victims to believe nothing ever happened and the person telling the truth is a problem starter despite the fact I never even talked to anyone before this happened."

"Mrs. Sarah is a wonderful teacher and has worked diligently to care for our daughter. The director and co-director were very patient and understanding as we delayed starting our daughter in daycare due to my husband finding work. They called to check on the status but never pressured or made us feel like we were going to lose our spot. They always have a friendly smile and welcome each time we walk through the front door."

"Mostly positive and great-When our child was a baby and toddler, we had no complaints. However, in the older classes, we have concerns and have started to see potential issues. The communication with parents could be better, such as, emailing parents upcoming events for special days rather than having them log into the online site or requiring a Smart phone for texting to learn of events, including newsletters. We have missed many special day events because we could not see them online or because the info was only available from a flyer in the office rather than being emailed. Also, as a per-diem-attending child, we don't receive most info. on upcoming events-they don't show up online in our account, for some reason, but no one knows how to fix it."
